Works really well with solid internet. I do have occasional internet issues but usually a restart of both consoles fixes the issue. I’ve caught my self playing more now with It. I take It with me to work and I play at the office when given a chance. I recommend highly to anyone who likes to play on the go.

I love this device. I own 2 ps5 and 2 Xbox series X but barely play them. Remoteplay with mobile devices is just not that good yet even with PSPlay or XBPlay. Also, i dont like taking my case every now and then just to connect a controller via usb. Great alternatives to the portal is the gcloud ans abxylute with their 16:9 aspecf ratio.

Playstation 5 everywhere sounds great many people sink and talk garbage about the portal and don't understand what it is or its use its a streaming device for the PlayStation 5 I've gone portable more than playing on my television the PlayStation portal is light and has all you expect from a dualsense controler just that its cut in half and a screen was placed down the middle i was on the fence over a wifi only device but not anymore ive gone out and used it in the home of family members and yes my PS5 is home just remember to keep it in sleep mode but so far my experience and expectations have been met and the portal does what i want and performs the way i want i love mines very much and im super greatful best buy had it back in stock if you ask if its worth it yes it is if your library is large and don't want to purchase the games again on a portable gaming PC... just wanted to use the device before my review

This Playstation Portal is way better than i thought. This was definitely the best gaming accessory that i have bought. I untilize this system everyday when the kids or wife are on the TV. Has been running butter smooth for me through wifi compared to a phone or tablet or even a computer. Haptic feedback is amazing and the battery life is pretty decent if you shut off the controller lights and turn off mic. The system charges fairly quick and love how when you plug in charger its in a area where the cord cant really become damaged. All around, the system was worth 199 and definitely see sony going in the right direction for portable. I difinetly suggest you guys trying this system out for yourself instead of listening to the people out there that conpares this to backbone+phone/tablet. The remote play quality on the system is way better than any other hardware. Portal has all of them beat!!!

One of the best handhelds on the market and if it was a stand alone it would be the best, love it its an amazing piece for my ps5 but if u dont have a ps5 still worth every minute

I was totally on the fence at first but the hype around it sucked me in. Thanks everyone! I will say it’s probably not for everyone, but like they say if your PS5 is hooked up to a family tv that’s being used that’s where the Portal comes in. For me I really don’t have that issue. I work from home downstairs and my PS5 is upstairs. So if I can sneak in a few GTA V online missions while at work is a win win. I haven’t run into any battery issues at all. It seems to have great battery life to me. I think I had 2 connection issues but otherwise that’s it. I really have no complaints. I mean we all wish it could do more but it is what it is. The one downside is you can only play whatever game disc is inside of your PS5 at the time. If all of your games are digital you wont have that problem, and I don’t think you can play the streamable PS Plus games either. So if you don’t always have access to your tv, possibly want to play in bed, or just want something a little more intimate vs playing on whatever size flatscreen tv you have, than the PS Portal may be for you!

This handheld has a ton of potential. Not quite perfect yet, but definitely playable. Hopefully the future updates will resolve connectivity problems. The most recent update included a streaming beta that performs much better than the remote play feature. All in all it’s worth the money and if future updates helps with the performance of remote play it’ll be golden. For those who don’t own a ps5 the update just made this handheld worth purchasing. If you subscribe to ps plus premium you’ll get access to the streaming beta and all games in its catalog.

This is an amazing piece if technology. If you have a PlayStation 5 or a PS+ subscription, and a solid internet connection, you can't go wrong with the Portal. I've been able to play online competitive shooters with no noticable input lag, Elden Ring, Final Fantasy 14, and Veilguard all streamed the PS5, as well as try out a wealth of modern and old titles through the PS+ collection for the Portal. Very impressive.
