Customers are impressed with the superb sound quality and comfort of these earphones, describing them as "simply superb" and "very comfortable to wear for long periods of time." However, some users have concerns about the durability of the earphones, with a few reporting issues with the ear bud covers sliding out of their ears and the headphones breaking after a few weeks of use.

these headphones are small and lightweight. they have good sound, incredible bass (quite an upgrade if you used the headphones that come with an ipod.) multiple cap sizes. an odd design though, the cord doesn't split in the spot that most headphones do. the case is completely worthless. otherwise, i'd say, for its affordable price, that sony has done a good job.

very good upgrade from the ipod earphones

Bought these to upgrade my ipod headphones. Didn't want to shell out $100+ for the Shure or Bose models that many friends have suggested. These are very good headphones in their price range. Provided you use the proper fitting earpiece, they provide good rich bass and a pleasing sound overall. The highs and the mids could be a little clearer, and seem to get muddy at higher volumes, but again, a significant improvement over whatever junk came packaged with your mp3 player. Haven't had them long enough to comment on reliability or build quality, but the sound quality is certainly pleasing. I use them frequently when riding in a convertable, and while they don't block out all the external sound, they do a very good job for the price. Would buy these again.

40 Bucks for Headphones, yeah It's worth it.

With the outrageous price for high performance headphones, if you're looking for excellent bass and sound reproduction, look no further. Sure, there's plenty of units that offer sound canceling, even Sony's next model up offers that. But honestly if you're anywhere, short of an airliner taking off, these headphones will perform just about as well. Amazing bass response for so small a headphone. The Earbuds can come off with repeated use, so a caution to those with larger ear canals. Also, the earbuds are a pain to replace as the only retailer for them is Sony.com. Other than that, a great little set of headphones.

    Great "Around Town" ear buds!

I bought these in conjunction with my Shure E2C headphones just because I walk around my neighborhood a lot, and let's face it, it isn't that safe. These Sony ear buds are a wonderful set and I have had them for almost two years. And in that time, the sound has remained very clear, and I think has gotten better with age. There are only two reasons I didn't give this a perfect. The first is the bass isn't as deep as I would have hoped for, but this is comparing them to my Shure set. The bass is definitely great for ear phones this size, but the way they were touted I had hoped for better response. THe more important reason is the interchangeable cups like to slid out of my ears a lot. Not a huge deal, and it seems to happen a lot hen I am active, but it get annoying having to find where it fell and get it back in my ear. In response to the previous review, I 'misplaced' one of those little cups, but I was able to order a new set through Best Buy's part search line. Took about three days to get here, and were less than ten dollars after tax and shipping. In summary, these are a great set of earbuds, and are worth every penny. Awesome bass for a small set, and clear sound. Different sized cups means it will fit in almost any ear canal comfortably and strongly. Buds do like to slide around a bit, but only if you are active.

    Fantastic! Great Buy!

These earphones are absolutely fantastic. I had them for almost two years and until the wires frayed and one side stopped working, the sound was very bright, consistent, and very superior to earphones such as the standard iPod phones. They lasted a very long time; I used them at school, and on planes, tugging at them every which way, and they seemed to hold up fine. The earbuds do fall off all the time and I found it very frustrating. The trick is to find the earbud that best fits you, and super glue them onto the base of the earbud. They won't move a bit. I did it, and they were the perfect earphones. A great buy for the price. Sony did a good job.

    Worth the $$

I never used to like the earbud type headphones . I used the Regular Cup type . I had actually been using the sony street headphones that fall behind your neck , they sound awesome for the 30 buck that they were , but they began to hurt my ears after long periods of using them . So i decided to try out a pair of earbuds that had cushions to them . These are very very comfortable for someone who is not used to having them . Even after long use they didnt seem to bother me . If you are going to be listening to it at high levels , you may want to use an equalizer on your device to cut out some of the highs . But they are a great headphone either way .

    Great sound and inexpensive

I tested 8 different pairs of ear bud headphones from the very inexpensive to the $100 variety and everything in between. I tried ones with noise canceling and without. These Sony's had by far the best sound quality (with minimal external noise) and excellent bass, while not being uncomfortable. I like them better than the $80 Phillips and the $100 Bose for less than half the price.

    They're good for the money

I got the oe bose and they sounded great, but hurt my ears after awhile so I had to return them. I was going to go with the in ear bose, but figured for the $$ difference I'd try these first. They sound pretty good for the price, but the highs are definately on the harsh side. I had to use treble reducer on my i-pod. On the low and mids they sound fairly clean and responsive. Not audiophile grade by any stretch, but not a bad buy for the money over all.

I got these recently to use on the bus, they sounds fairly good as far as sound quality. The bass responce though is slightly dissapointing. The build seems to be good quality and i havnt had any problems with them yet. The rubber ear peices are fairly comfortable and they isolate you from some of the abiant noise. Overall, i would recommend these for anyone who likes to listen to their music in loud/crowded places.

    Great Headphones

I recieved these head phones as a gift for Christmas, and I absoluty love them! The sound quality is simply superb and they block out any sort of backround noise, so all you hear is your music. The one thing I was disapointed with though was that the earbuds on the headphones came off very easily, and once you lose the earbuds, the headphones are basically useless! Still a great product though

    Love the sound

These headphones sound great, as long as you can use them! I have had these for a year, they came w/3 pr of silicone ear bud covers, in 3 sizes. I liked the small ones, but I eventually had to use all of them because they fall off and get lost. I tried to order 1 pr on-line at Sony Direct, the total cost for 2 little black ear bud covers w/ tax and S/H will be $15.95..., I don't know why Best Buy or some retail store doesn't carry the replacements. Sony should package them in a larger quantity and sell them retail. After reading the other reviews, it sounds like most people have the same problem. I am not going to pay 1/3 of the original price just for the ear bud covers, I would not suggest you purchase these, unless you can glue the covers on the ear buds!

    Good Quality, Durable

These headphones are awesome. I am a technology geek and decided to try these out. Not only did they have great quality, but they also did not blow out when i turned up the volume all the way on my ipod. My ipod headphones blew out at just under full power. These withstood full power for over 10 minutes, and were good as new after. (i love the deep bass) Plus, they dont fall out when i am exercising, riding my bike, running, etc., even if they get tugged. The only problem i see with them is that the silicone earbuds tend to fall off in my pocket and get lost. I had these for over 6 months before i let my friend borrow them and he lost them. I am getting them again because i love them so much. Definitely get these. Worth every penny!

    My favorite headphones

I am on my second pair and these are my favorite headphones. My ears are too small for regular earbuds - they hurt and fall out, so I gave these a try - they come with 3 different sizes of silicon adapters and the smallest ones fit me comfortably. I can wear them for hours, they block out background noises (like planes) - I have even used them at work for video and audio editing. The only con is that you have to be gentle with them - my first pair doesn't work anymore because I pulled to hard on the cord to pull it out of my ear and the connection between the cord and bud was broken. Still, I bought a new pair and will be more careful with the cord in the future! :)

    Bang for Buck

These are great earphones! I'm a student and have to study in odd places sometime and there is no problem with these earphones because they do a better job that apple's earbuds to block outside sound and allow solitude in a busy, noisy area. I'm active running and exercising and these stay in perfectly. They are the most comfortable in-ear phones I've owned without spending over $50. The sound is great too. I really can't say anything bad about them except that they don't wrap up very well due to behind the neck wire configuration This is the best bang for your buck. Highly recommended.

    Great ear buds

I wanted these ear buds because of the multiple ear pieces. I was tired of the standard hard ear buds that come with today's mp3 players that seem not to fit anyone's ears and are uncomfortable. When I got these, I was happy with the clear sound and great fit. No more having one pop out while working out or moving your head for that matter. Very comfortable to wear for long periods of time unlike the "standards". A great solution to having something smaller than the larger earphones, without the worry of soreness and fitment issues. Definately recommended.

    Great Sound!

I bought these for my Sansa MP3 player. The sound is awesome compared to what came in the box with the player. I listen to a lot of Rock and some some Rap. Bass response is great and the mids and highs are clear. Stereo imaging is also great. My wife has the same player as I do, (but in pink) however she chose a different, equally priced, headset. These Sony are far superior to what she bought. I highly recommend these headphones and know that you too will love the comfort and sound that these produce.

    Great Purchase

For as tiny as these are, they sure pack the punch. I was searching for the loudest headphones I could find, while being in a certain price range and these fit the bill. They also sort of act like earplugs as well in order to reduce outside noise. The only downfall as many others have mentioned is that they tend to fall out of your ears, even though they come with 3 sets of different sized buds. It rarely happens to me anymore but, still a good buy compared to all the other products in this price range.

I've owned two pair of these headphones. I loved the first pair and they served me well for a long time until my young nephew got a hold of them and pretty much destroyed them. Dang kids.... So I went out and bought another pair. At first, they worked great, but after about six months, they just stopped working. I'd still recommend the headphones based off my first experience, just make sure to keep all information for a possible return or warranty issue.

I currently use these headphones, so does my friend and also gave a pair to my wife. Much better than any of the $10-20, the Sony's really deliver a full sound and most importantly FIT IN MY EAR! I have used a variety of earbuds and these fit perfectly in my ear and stay in when I use them at the gym. Not mind blowing sound quality but worth the money to say the least. For normal and active use I highly recommend these headphones.

No, these aren't high-end earphones by any stretch of the imagination. Still, at this price they represent great value and offer very good sound reproduction. These are perfect for replacing the default earphones that come with mp3 players.
