$200 for this?????? Seriously??????

Sony, the has been king of technology trying desperately to stay relevant in the age of quality affordable electronics.
I had been looking at these for a few weeks and thought they looked intriguing and watched reviews online and after only 5 hours of owning these I came to 1 conclusion, the reviewers were obviously paid and never actually used them.
The upsides,
-the gimmicky hole allows you to hear things around you while listening to music of making a phone call.
-tapping on your cheek to pause music or answer calls is weird but kind of fun purely because nobody else has that
The Downsides,
-it's one size fits all/a small handful of people.
-The tiny silicone loop does NOT hold them in your ear securely, didnt mater which size I tried they just fell out within a few minutes.
-The projected 5.5 hour battery life translated to barely over 3 hours when listening to music at low volumes.
-The sound quality is literally better on a pair of $20 ear buds I have from Plantronics. The highs are super tinny, the mids are almost non existent and the bass just flat out doesn't exist, period!
-The disk area that the sound is obviously pumped through is made out of a hard plastic and is only 1 size, there is NO give so if your ear is not that 1 extremely specific size they hurt, a LOT, to much that it is physically painful for them to be worn longer then a few minutes so I guess it's a good thing that the silicone loop fails at keeping them secure.
-And for the price the charge case doesn't have wireless charging?
Seriously, $20 and even $40 headphones are better then these. Asking $200 for these is ludicrous and borderline insane. Pretty much the only thing that gives these any value is the Sony logo on them.
Owned for 1 day and went back to my Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 earbuds, they are sizeable, comfortable, stay put, last around 8 hours on 1 charge outside of the case, the case can recharge them about 10 times before needing to recharge, the case has wireless charging and the sound is better than pretty much everything out there and they cost about $50. You're welcome.

I WANT TO LOVE THESE. They’re unique! Comfort is a 10/10. I could wear them all day if I wanted to. You don’t buy them for sound quality, music fanatics should get something else, but everything is CLEAR. Phone calls were a big rating factor me. There’s not a lot of wireless headphones on the market that can support phone calls with clarity on BOTH ends. I was pleasantly surprised how little background noise they pick up and how clear people can hear me while on calls. I will say that they need a second version. Something gets knocked loose in the hardware and it creates static in the ear. I hope Sony does more with this concept!

Hi TatianaR, we're glad you love our product. We understand your feedback regarding the static on your Sony unit. If you use the headset when the air is dry, you may experience discomfort due to static electricity accumulated on your body. This is not a malfunction of the headset. You can reduce the effect by wearing clothes made of natural materials that do not easily generate static electricity. Please check this link for more details:

These headphones are a very strange design choice for Sony. As a result, I had to buy them to see how they worked. There are interesting features (such as the tapping controls), but these things just aren’t staying in my ear. When they finally did find their place in my ear, they didn’t give me the full sound you’d expect from other headphones with a more traditional design. I headed home wearing these, and they immediately fell out of my ears and onto the ground on my way to the front door. I knew it was over from there. No matter what size you adjust them to they never feel right. They’re actually quite comfortable otherwise, but what’s the use if you could have these things fall out and not even notice?

Hi Letstrythem,
Thank you for choosing and purchasing our all--new Sony LinkBuds.
While we are glad that you like the sound quality, we're sorry if you're having issues with the fitting. Sony place a high value on every feedback as this help us in improving our products' design, features, and functionality. Having said that, we'd love to help you troubleshoot your problem and turn your experience around by following the below troubleshooting suggestions.
An earache occurs If you feel the size of the fitting supporters does not fit your ears, change the fitting supporters to another size that fits your ears better. The size of the left and right fitting supporters may be different. Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears. To wear the LinkBuds, Check the (left) and (right) marks on the headset. Check the position relation between the ear and the headset when you put the headset unit into your ear. Hold the headset with your fingers. Put the headset units into both ears. Check if the headset is worn properly.
If you wear the headset for a long time, your ears may start hurting. Use the headset while taking breaks periodically.

Great open headphones. Still working to try out the different fits but the sound quality is excellent. The trick is to use Bass boot mode through the app. Then it wont sound so tinny. My only reservation is the price. MSRP of $179 is too much.

Glad to hear you like that they are small and light and amazing when listening to audiobooks and podcasts. Up front, these are not the best buds for top listening experience. You can't beat a true ANC set or over ears for that. However, these are an excellent option for you if you need to hear the world around you. I use these at work during my daily prep routine and I have a nice sound track to keep me motivated yet I can still here the world around me. I'm not surprised when another employee walks up behind me and talks. I may still have to pause my music to continue the conversation, but it just depends on the song. I'm not a fan of the tap controls either. I just use the Google Music app on my watch to pause and play. Fit requires a little wiggle and I wouldn't suggest these for the daily jog, but normal walking, bending, lifting during my day won't dislodge them.

Decent sound and pretty comfortable. I got them for when I'm out in the city so I can be aware of what is going on around me. Use them when I go for walks/bike rides and they are solid. Haven't run in them but they seem pretty secure. Not for everyone especially if you're trying to block out other noises, but if my description fits your needs you'll probably be happy.

The buds were super comfortable, sound quality was good. The accompanied app looked as if it were from the early 2000s and made little difference. The controls on the buds themselves rarely work. The natural sound was a good idea, but some level of sound canceling would be nice. Youre still hearing everytbing you normally would which is terrible when you need these for work or any use other than passive listening. Worth buying. Not worth the price.

Hi Thelms351,
Thanks for reaching out to us with your concern. While we're glad that you like the comfort and great audio quality, we're sorry you've been running into difficulty. These do not seal your ear entirely and include the noise canceling feature. That's because these earbuds are built to keep you tuned in to the world around you, with a comfortable open-ring design that naturally blends ambient sound with digital sound. Stay authentically connected to everyday life while listening to music, taking calls, gaming, and more, all with dynamic sound.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the controls/operation of the unit. If the headset often does not operate correctly, this may be improved by using the Sony Headphones Connect app to turn wide area tap off and switch to headset tap instead. For more on "The headset does not operate correctly or wide area tap works unintentionally", please visit this help guide link to troubleshoot the issue.
We also recommended updating the firmware of the headphones (via the Sony Headphones Connect app) for optimum performance. The software update improves the general performance of the unit and includes key features, applications, and bug fixes. https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/wireless-headphones-bluetooth-headphones/wf-l900/downloads

You get these knowing that they look awkward and reckon they fit as awkward as they look, and it is true. Lacks bass but that's understandable really. They give good call quality and good quality for music if you don't listen to bass heavy music.

Coming from a pair of Airpods 3rd Generation I was looking for a pair of true wireless headphones that didn't have rubber ear tips. ( I personally find rubber tips to be a poor and uncomfortable fit in my ears) The Sony Linkbuds were a very intriguing product because of the style and features they provided. The open back design was so unique I felt I almost had to try them. My main use for true wireless headphones is podcasts, audiobooks and phone calls while I'm on the go, I have better headphones I can use to listen to music if I wanted stellar audio quality.
After purchasing these buds it took me a couple of trials to get the right fit but once I did I almost forgot I was wearing them after pausing what I was listening to. The fit is very important being as these headphones are built as "one size fits most" with the option of 5 different sizes of rubber loops to fit in your upper ear.
The carrying case leaves something to be desired though. Coming from Apples premium build quality with their AirPods, the linkbuds carrying case feels a little light and flimsy in the hinge and having a latch system rather than a magnet is an odd choice in my opinion. The lid feels like it could snap off if I accidentally open the case too fast.
Overall I would recommend these buds to someone who is looking for headphones to use while they are doing something else. The fact that there is absolutely no noise isolation is a caveat that sounds like it would be a con, but for my person use case this is the reason I prefer these headphones over others on the market.

Great concept and sound but I just couldn’t get them to fit my ear properly. I tried every ear wing attachment but either was a snug fit or not snug at all. The sound quality was great and I liked being able to hear the outside noise but not really hearing the outside noise if that make sense.
I didn’t like that I couldn’t connect them to two different devices. I connected them to my company phone the bummer thing is my company doesn’t allow me to download the app which caused issues with the Bluetooth. If I answered the phone my iPhone would not connect with the Bluetooth earbuds I would have to toggle between phone ear piece back to the earbuds Bluetooth
I ended up returning. I really wanted to make these work.

I was really excited about this product and, honestly, really enjoy the fit and sound quality. Unfortunately, that's only for when it works. Everyone’s ears are different but to me these sound great and are comfortable. I can’t wear anything with silicone/plastic tips without being in pain within 30 minutes so it’s nice that these are available. I prefer the natural sound passthrough these offer to transparency modes offered on ANC headphones. The small charging case is also a plus. These are in my opinion underrated and I hope Sony will continue making this style of earbuds.
