The sound is very good and theyre comfortable. Not too sure how noise cancelling they are though. My only issue and down side to these headphones is that they need a AAA battery to get the punchy loud sound you crave. The batteries constantly die when you leave them on. Have had them for 2 years, VERY durable.

I specifically wanted over-ear headphones for airline travel and the choices were staggering, and some of the prices, too. I liked these Sonys right away -- their sound is clear enough, they're comfortable, they fold up and store easily and, they're reasonably priced. So they became a Christmas present from me to me and I did very well thank you -- good, reliable sound for traveling.

These headphones, certainly, don't come close to the Bose noise cancelling headphones, but for the price they're worth it.
I purchased these for a recent flight to Vegas and was pleasantly surprised at how they blocked out not only the jet noise, but also the general din of the cabin. The sound quality was fair to good and served the purpose adequately. I used them, primarily, to watch movies on my IPad. If you're an audiophile geek these headphones would likely disappoint.
The one complaint that I have is that the cord is a little on the thin side compared to my similar looking Sony headphones without N/C. I do like the fact that the on/off switch is mounted on the unit rather than inline with the cord and they're comfortable over extended periods.
Bling wearing celebrities don't endorse them, but I liked 'em. Good to go.

For the cost of these Sony headphones, a very worthwhile purchase. I have tried other noise cancelling headphones and found out for the cost and performance you cannot go wrong with these headphones. Very comfortable, cost effective and compact for travel. The only thing I wish that Sony should have done was to supply a carry bag for storage. Other than this a very good noise cancelling set of headphones.

Light, active noice cancelling - the box doesn’t spell that out explicitly and with a neat flight adaptor - works - tested it on a recent transcontinental flight - and my god are they inexpensive for being from SONY

Good sound at an affordable price. Comfortable fit. Decent chord length. Has power on/off switch which can drain battery quickly if left on after a single daily use. Eliminating battery would be optimal, maybe accessing the power using the USB connection.

I needed wired headphones, so I gave these a try. I wasn't sure they would be comfortable, but I was happy to find that they were very comfortable, not heavy or awkward. The sound is great, and they completely canceled out the noise of machinery near me. For the price, these headphones are a good value.

I've owned these for about nine months--originally to replace a basic set of headphones for my office use (shared space with white noise emitters and people working nearby) to plug-in to my PC.
The audio quality is excellent, the build quality is quite solid, folding feature is well-designed, and the noise-cancelling feature does a great job in the office and on airplanes. The noise-cancelling also is good at using batteries (a single AAA) efficiently.
My only two reservations are: lack of padding on the headband and the length of the cord--I prefer a few more feet of cord so it's easily plugged-in to my PC on my desk. The cord length is ideal for a music player in one's lap or pocket.

I bought these specifically because they’re wired—I wanted a hassle-free alternative to my wireless headphones for on-the-go use, without the need to worry about charging. Overall, the headphones perform well. However, I was disappointed to find that noise canceling requires batteries to function at its best. This somewhat defeats the purpose of choosing a wired option, but it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Just a heads-up for others who may be expecting a fully battery-free experience.

I bought these to muffle most of the noise while
I work and they do very well. As the box says, they do not cancel people talking in the background, so don't expect that if you decide to buy these for that reason. They are also very comfortable while at the same time, don't feel very heavy either. They also fold up to a compact size which is also a plus. Overall, these are a good set of headphones.

Have taken these on over 10 different flights now and I love them! They are incredible for the price. My old head phones cost 3 times what these did and they did not work half as well. My husband borrowed these on a flight a few months ago and was so impressed that we just bought him a set of his own. They are comfortable for long periods and I can watch movies and listen to music without the jet noise interfering.

Once I put these on, feels like I'm in a club. Really loud and I love it. My third time buying these. They usually last me 2 years and that's a long time considering how much I use them. Love them and will always purchase them over any other more expensive headphones. A steal for the price.

Bought these for improved sound quality, comfort and noise reduction. I didn't expect complete noise cancelation, given the price. And this is better for me, since I often have to monitor grandchildren. These offer just enough noise reduction to improve sound quality, but allow me to hear any sounds of distress from grandkids, if I'm in the next room. Mostly I listen to audiobooks, and I love these headphones for this purpose. Also, I have small ear canals and find ear buds extremely uncomfortable. If I ever need complete noise cancelation, I can upgrade to a more sophisticated product. But for now, these are the best, and most comfortable headphones for me!

The Sony wired, noise cancelling headphones offer exactly what is described; noise cancelling at a cheaper price point than the higher end Sony models. It does run on an AAA battery, which has so far lasted me 4 weeks, using it for about 6 hours for 3 days a week. The wire is the cheaper Sony rubber one, but should last long if you’re not too rough with it. The cushions are comfortable, which is important as the headphones can become tight and cause discomfort with extended use. The design is plastic, but doesn’t feel cheap like others have stated. Overall, these headphones are a good choice for a quick solution to cancelling surrounding noise, and a no brainer when they go on sale.

while not the best set you can find or wireless. It does work great for those long airplane rides. I bought two of these 1 for my daughter and 1 for my mother. it comes with the double plugin that some airlines still use and it can detach from that to just be a single stereo mini jack. they are comfy and sound really good. its worth the 39.00 I paid

I was very skeptical about buying these. I have Bluetooth headphones but I wanted one that plugged in as well. And despite the price these actually work really good. The sound is great and the noise cancellation feature is really good but be careful it can make certain songs a lot louder than expected. I’m sensitive to high pitched sounds so it’s not always great for me so I love having the option to muffle the sound a little bit (turn the noise cancellation feature off). It’s also really sturdy and durable the cord hasn’t been bent or nicked yet. If you are looking to save some money but still get a nice pair of headphones I definitely recommend these.

I used these on an overseas flight. Nose cancelling feature worked very well and they were extremely comfortable for extended use. My only issue was the short battery life on the noise cancelling feature. I had to replace the battery after 12 hours of use.
