I love This headset it has a few setbacks but I got Then on sale for $99 so it was well worth it. I will Not pay $159.99 for these though. But for $99 they’re a great buy. They sound amazing the wireless is great and it holds a decent charge. How ever the button layout for chat and game sound and volume controls are hard to change with headset on. Anyone who owns these knows what I mean Lol. I also Have a pair of the cloud alpha 2 which are amazing as well can’t go wrong with these for $99 though.

    Great Headphones for Playstation 4!

I was very skeptical about purchasing these headphones due to the two or three negative reviews. I can honestly say that they are indeed great for the following reasons/ consider these the pros: Best PS4 Compatible Headphones Great for gaming, movies, and any other media played through the PS4 Great embedded microphone Good battery life Straightforward installation Good and comfortable over-the-ear encasement and padding Good quality materials However the only two cons that other reviewers point out are: 1) Uncomfortable weight on the top band that rests on the top of the head. It’s not painful nor horrible but bothersome. I ignore it and got used to it coming from no headphones at all but obviously there are more comfortable headphones AS FAR AS THE CENTER PADDING goes. 2) Not noise-cancelling. Granted they are not marketed that way and that’s really not a deal breaker in my case nor should it be in most occasions. I don’t understand why other reviewers criticize this feature when it’s not designed for this type of headphone. I don’t mind. As a last note they are DESIGNED TO BE USED WITH THE PLAYSTATION 4, this means that that’s their purpose. Don’t listen to other reviewers comparing these to other headphones that have other features and markets. Again these are meant for Playstation 4 usage (gaming, movies, media) and nothing else. Other than that good heaphones!

I originally owned the Playstation Gold headset for about a year and a half. After having to get two covered replacements from the manufacturer due to them breaking at the same hinge, I was not willing to buy another after the third broke. The functionality of that set was good so I decided to try the Platinum set. They are very comfortable and the sound quality is excellent for the price point. The construction feels more solid and feel that they will last much longer than the Gold. The battery life is good though I wish they would have used a USB Type-C connector for charging. I have not given them 5 stars yet because I have not owned them long enough to verify their longevity.

Had the gold for a few years. These are better. Not a whole lot better. The golds are a very very good headset. That makes these great. Better battery life. More comfortable and cancels noise better. I love em

I purchased this headset as a birthday present to myself in March, 2020. These are comfortable for long gaming sessions, and the battery lasts a decent time, and the sound is pretty good. Setup was easy, though I feel like the headset companion app isn't much use. My complaints are that in my home these will randomly lose connection (searching this issue says that it may be due to router interference, but I've moved my system as far away from the router as possible and it's not really any better), and if your battery dies while you're still playing you cannot charge them while using the included aux cable. And if you're using the aux cable, you lose all button functions so if you need to mute your mic you have to either pull the cord or go through the system menu (neither of which are very desirable). Ultimately I'm not unhappy with my purchase, but I can't say I'm overly excited about them.

The Platinum Wireless are lightweight and comfortable for me even after a few hours of use. Additionally they do not interfere with the use of glasses and also fit well with the PSVR. While I did like the mids and highs of the default sound I found that for some games and music I needed to change it with the equalizer or presets to add bass. I was able to do this satisfactorily. The 3D sound found on very few games (I tried MLB 2017 the Show and Unchartered 4) was good but not a must have. The VSS setting I felt weakened the sound and thus I turned that off frequently. While not a match for high end headphones or even mid level gaming headsets I would recommend these if available at a discounted price of $119 or less.

These are on the costly side of most PS4 headphones but for the features that are included on these make it worth the price. The features on the headset to adjust in game volume and chat volume is very useful. Sound is great on games, especially ones Sony makes to perform in full surround sound on the headset. Battery life is very good and can last a full day of playing. Biggest downside to these is that it requires a USB stick receiver which the PS4 already lacks USB outputs.

    An upgrade from the Gold

A definite improvement from the PlayStation Gold Headset. Better sound quality, a sturdier design being made of metal and not so much plastic, and the mic quality is much improved. A bit pricey at $200, maybe for a bit cheaper this would be amazing. Slightly uncomfortable, with my ears getting hot after extended use, but that could just be me. Also, the 7.1 surround sound is on point and definitely makes a difference when I’m gaming. Overall, I’m satisfied.

I purchased this to use for zoom at work. It was just too heavy for me and after an hour I had to take it off. It was also tight which helped with sound quality (I have a small head so having something tight enough to fit was actually a plus) however I could rarely get through an hour meeting without my ears hurting, even my neck hurt from the weight, it was pretty painful. If you don’t use these for a long time it might work for you but I needed something I could wear 8 or more hours a day. I ended up giving this to my teenage son for gaming. I couldn’t say much about sound quality with comfort being such an issue. I will say the headphone cushions are really soft but just too tight for it to matter much.

headphones are VERY comfortable to wear during long gaming periods. microphone is built in so you do not have to worry about the microphone getting in the way and breaking during storage. sound quality is EXCELLENT. only draw back on sound 7.1 virtual surround is limited if the game is encoded for 7.1 surround sound. headphones can be used on gaming platform (just like regular headphones) vis the standard headphone cable. 3d audio is only available in PSVR when the headphone cable is hooked up

These are a great headset rather it's your first or your fifth +. They pair great with the console and if you use the headphone app you can download different presents! Battery life is good and they are for the most part comfortable. Sometimes the top of my head gets sore after 1-2 hours but a quick adjust works fine. I just wish the volume ceiling was a tad louder other than that I can't nitpick it.

Love the new platinum headset over the gold. My previous gold pair broke and had to get a new pair. Decided to check these out and since the store was out of the gold, forced me to go ahead. Glad I made the purchase. They feel better on the head, they sound a whole lot better, and with the dual mic's I am heard a bit better. Would recommend these for sure. Bit on the pricey side, but worth the value imho.

Very comfortable to wear. I have worn these for 7 to 8 hours at a time with no discomfort. The sound is very adjustable on the ps3 app on my ps4. The sound abilities are endless. Very quick to per up to ps4. Plus you have volume and bass and mute and chat buttons to others. You can adjust chat volume so you can hear other players even in the most intense gun and bomb noise of games. If you can buy these, do so you wont be disappointed. P.S. listening to music on Yutube or movies on Netflix or amazon prime or any of the other movie streaming apps is fantastic.

I will keep this short and sweet. I have been gaming for many years and have gone through several brands of headsets. I will not name the other brands, but I can say that this is the best in its price range that I have used. Why you ask? 1. Most comfortable I have owned. 2. Easy to adjust headband. 3. Sound quality is great for gaming. 4. Sony PS4 companion sound app is a plus. 5. Controls are intuitive and easy once you learn their location. 6. I hear footsteps better. 7. Not bad for listening to music. No way close to audiophile headset. 8. Easy setup and solid wireless connection. 9. Construction is good, and headset doesn't feel fragile or cheap. 10. Decent battery life. There you have it. I highly recommend you give this headset a try.

The best gaming headphones I have had to date. The 3D sound quality is amazing (If the game supports it) and the quality of the headphone seem more sturdy than the last version. Can get a little uncomfortable if playing for a long time ( 2+ hours) so take a break here and there and you'll be fine.

Sony sound quality has always been great. Great range and pretty good bass. Voice chat audio, as I'm told by friends is excellent. I knocked it down for comfort. As a gaming headset, these are supposed to be worn for hours at a time. They are actually pretty heavy for a gaming set. Also, the band is not very forgiving for larger heads and after about 1-2 hours with these, you do feel the pressure of your head getting squeezed by a light vise. Also, since these are around the ear style, ears get a little warm after a while.

I own both PlayStation gold headset and the platinum. I compared both and the sound level for gold headset sounds louder but quality wise the platinum is better. The Platinum headset has a longer battery life, wider Bluetooth range and 3D surround feature built into it.
