The Platinum headset has no rival when it comes to use with the Playstation 4 thanks to the quality sound and software you can download specifically for the Sony Gold and Platinum headsets. This headset fits well, feels good, and is very comfortable. If I had to call out something that bugged me, it would be that the ear cups are just the slightest bit too shallow for my ears. And we're talking 1mm too shallow. Other than that, there is just nothing to complain about. The sound quality is stunning and clean. The battery life is average. I've been playing a lot of Ace Combat 7 and Final Fantasy VII Remake, and I get about 5 - 6 hours of play. Make sure you download the headset app on your Playstation 4, it's FREE! Hop in there and fine tune things to your desire, it is soooo easy. Again, when it comes to the Playstation 4, there is no better headset.

It has been a great all around headset with use on my PS4. It has great comfort, its lights, and lasts throughout my gaming sessions. The only downside is that every now and then I will lose connection with the audio for a split second even though I am 5 feet away. Its not an everyday occurrence but still is annoying.

These are great I use them all the time. The range is enough to make it to your couch but you can't walk room to room with them on like the older version. They sound great and work great. Battery lasts a long time. Over a year since my purchase and I'm still happy

I find most headphones uncomfortable. After about an hour I have to take them off. They are very tight on my head. They do sound really good and have a lot of options. The range is not very good. Battery life is good though. I plan on returning and trying some more comfortable headphones.

For the playstation there is no better headset. Has everything you need to manipulate game sound, and sounds great. Very comfortable headset.

Living with roommates or even in thin walled apartments aren't always the best conditions for having even a small surround sound system for gaming or even movie watching into late night sessions but with these, you can hear every detail and not worry about your s.o. having to wake up in a couple hours for work. The VSS/3D audio really makes a big difference in compartmentalizing the sound so that its an accurate representation of the producers intent wether its for movies or games. Although you can use these wired to your laptop or phone via aux cable included, I wouldn't put those same expectations for music unless you're listening through your PS4 via the bluetooth dongle. I purchased this at a very awesome sale price of $98 without rewards certificates but originally bought them at MSRP for my little brother and was just as impressed at the attention to detail and build quality. I was just fortunate enough that when I eventually wanted them, they were hella cheap. Def still recommend at MSRP though.

I've had an astro a40tr and a50 which were amazing but just too high priced so i settled for this one. For the price you get a long lasting wireless headset with good sound, the bass could be better but its acceptable, sound is crisp and voice works perfect. also light weight and comfty

I've had the original Playstation Golds for years. After long thought, and comparing multiple headsets, I purchased the Platinums. I am NOT disappointed. The sound is even better than my golds, and the battery life is pretty amazing. They can be wireless OR hardwired, as well. Which is pretty nifty

Sound quality is really good. Easy to set up. Can use both as wireless or if battery dies, it can be used as wired and works fine. Only downside is when used as wired, you don’t get to control all the features. Battery life is really good and they’re pretty comfortable.

I bought these to replace my aging wireless gold headset and they are well worth it, having both turtle beach and tritons in the past I like this headset the best. No cords or extra amp box involved just plug in wireless dongle and you are set. They sound great on battlefield I can hear from every angle and on uncharted with 3D mode they are absolutely insane.

High mid-tier or low High tier gaming headset. I was able to purchase this for a favorable price as they were on sale and I had some rewards points. The very positive points for these headphones are the ease of use for PS4 as well as compatible with PC, as well as the customizability of EQ on the PS4 companion app. I didn't get the chance to utilize the 3D sound capabilities because there available titles were pretty small and I didn't own of the games. good low end base, and overall sound quality was decent as the soundstage allowed me to hear directional sounds decently. Very comfortable after hours of game play. earcups felt quality and weren't too tight, and headband evenly distributed weight of the headphones.

I've bought and returned several headset for my ps4 and this is the one that I've decided to keep. Other more expensive headsets are not compatible with my PS4 Slim without adapters. The sound quality is fantastic and I enjoy the surround sound features during game play. I can hear the direction of the sound source. I rated 4 because it can get hot and a bit uncomfortable after an hour or so of gaming.

Best surround sound I have found for gaming. It is cordless and long lasting. I can wear it comfortably for long periods with no problems. These cost a bit, so I got mine on a sale 2 years ago.

ignore the negative reviews, i have had this set for while now and they work/sound great. They are also much sturdier than the old ps gold sets. The built in mike is clear and unobtrusive as well. Holds a nice long charge snd works great on pc too!

These are great headphones and I use them for my PS4 and on my Xbox one with the headset pick attachment. They have great surround sound, but lack bass. They fit really well and have great battery life. Seem well built and that they aren't going to break easily.

I was looking for a good wireless headset for my PS4 and decided to go with the ones made for the PS4. The sound quality is great with these... Clear highs and plenty of bass. Only negatives are that you have to turn the mic down on the PS4 because its sooo sensitive and they hurt my ears after wearing them for about an hour or two. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy this headset!

I bought these as soon as they were available expecting to be impressed. They are labeled PLATINUM after all. I was immediately disappointed. The connection issues began as soon as I turned them on. They disconnected if I was more than five feet from my PS4. They would randomly disconnect constantly. You cannot charge these and use them at the same time. They're not nearly as comfortable as the Gold version. Ok the plus side the buttons that control game and chat volume are much easier to use than on the Elite Headset. They sound amazing and are comfortable once you break them in. After all is said and done these headphones are nice but not worthy of the price tag and especially unworthy of the Platinum name.

My wife has decided to play Call Of Duty. I thought I would be nice and buy her this headset. Not knowing how serious she would be I was reluctant to purchase the astro. She really likes this head set. It's very simple for her to use. She simply plugs in the usb dongle and Alah! She can now invade my one last safe space and continue her endless nagging. The battery life is good. And she says the sound is terrific. Her cackling sounds great in the party too. It sounds like shes right next to me telling me what I'm doing wrong in person. As for my friends, they love it and they hate it. On one hand they constantly get to laugh at my suffering as she corrects my gameplay. On the other hand they hate it because I have violated an unspoken code amongst us wife fearing gamers.

Contrary to the title of my review, this headset brings quality to the table. So if you are coming from the basic headset you get from the PS4 box or some cheap headset, you are in for a treat! I gave it a 4 star rating because there isn't much difference between the Gold and Platinum headset. I appreciate the rubber band that sits on your head, it really helps keeping the headset in place. But other than being compatible with VR, its basically the same thing as the Gold headset. If you don't use VR, buy the Gold. They are both really good headsets but don't feel obligated to go all out for the Platinum if you don't use or plan to use VR.
