The sound on these headphones is amazing! 3 different settings for sound, great battery life, and you can connect them to your phone via a cord! Great bass and clear highs! I love them!

The 3D audio is amazing but limited to a handful of games but either way even with the not listed 3D audio games it still sounds great. My only complaint is the headset becomes uncomfortable after about an hour of gaming. The quality of the headset is good. Another complaint but it’s because I have my pspro mounted on the wall behind the TV is that the charging cord is like 24” long and I had to add a hook on the wall to hang the headset for charging purposes. Overall I like it but for the price I think $100 is a better price point.

The 3D audio and over ear fit are amazingly scary during horror games. But every other game there super good. Amazing sound and looks great

After reading various reviews, I bought the Sony platinum wireless headphones for my grandson‘s birthday. After trying them out, he immediately called me and told me how fabulous they were. The 7.1 surround sound gives him a competitive edge in gaming, because he can now hear people sneaking up behind him. He also says they are very comfortable to wear. Although I am a very loyal Best Buy fan, I would like to mention that these headphones are rated number one in the top 10 on Amazon. The platinum version is significantly better than the gold version.

I've had a lot of headsets, including the first 2 PS3 wireless. This headset isn't as good as my astro a50 as far as sound quality, but it's half the price, has better battery life, and is very light and easy to use for my kids. Microphone is clear, and it picks up maybe a little to much ambient noise, but that's probably due to clarity. There are 2 things I would suggest. Maybe a fabric earcup, vs the vinyl, it will last longer, because my experience has been about 18 months before Sony vinyl breaks down, and a more pronounced mute button.

The Platinum Headphones sound really good and they look really good. I purchased these after my Gold's finally gave out and once the price came down. I've been using these for a few weeks now and love the 3D sound when playing games. The microphone for chat is great, my friends can hear me just fine. The only negative is the weight of the headphones and the strap that goes over the top of your head starts giving me a headache after about an hour. I did get use to them and it's not so bad anymore. If it weren't for that I'd give 5 stars, I'm a big Sony fan.

I was thrilled to get these headphones and start listening to all games in 3D. Turns out, so far, only a handful of games have this feature, leaving you with a very expensive, regular pair of wireless cans. I was able to be wowed by the 3D sound in watchdogs 2, but that's it. The bass level is underwhelming no matter what bass setting you programme the headphones to use through the app. All in all, I would recommend if you like to keep it quiet at home while playing and hate to connect cables to the remote. Battery life is good and the padding is comfortable.

This is the best headset I have ever owned for the sound quality and battery life. The sound is amazing and it’s especially perfect for VR headset and games. It’s great if you want to block out other sounds and focus on a game too. I would rate this 4.5 if I could because the one downside is the comfort. For an hour or two it’s perfectly fine but after a while the metal part at the top of your head starts not feeling too great and is uncomfortable wearing it too long. It’s worth it for the amazing sound though. I recommend these!

This headset is a bit pricey, but full-featured, comfortable, and an improvement over the original Sony Golds I owned. Battery seems like it lasts longer, the sound is a bit better sounding than the Golds, and has all of the same great features, with better built quality especially for the head band. The ability to shift volume to prioritize game volume over chat volume and vice versa on the headset is probably the best feature on this headset and other Sony headsets that you don't often seen on competing headsets. Positional audio is also conveyed clearly and accurately.

I typically play FPS games and the surround sound works well for them. Coming from the Astro A50, these are much lighter and more comfortable. They are worth the extra money over the gold in my opinion with better sound and are more comfortable than the Gold I demo'd. The mic is average and sometimes frustrating. Sometimes ambient noise is picked up loudly and sometimes people can barely hear me with no changes on my end.

I had the Gold before these. I loved the Gold, and the Platinum is even better. Having the option for two different config setups is handy for switching between game types and the sound is superb. Couple that with a simple install and you have yourself a winner.

I originally got the new PS Gold headset. I had nothing but issues with it. Any interference from wifi or a cell phone would cause distortion. I returned it and got this one instead. This headset not only sounds significantly better, but the mic is way better and it has a way stronger connection. This is definitely worth the addition price, however with the PS5 on the horizon, it may not be worth getting at this time

I had Sony gold headphones before, which failed after a year, the headband just fell to pieces. Trying the gold because of the metal headband, and it has larger drivers. The sound is incredible, with great detail. Don't suffer with less, invest in this one.

I bought the Astro A50 before this and found that it was a little heavy, so I returned it and decided to try this headset. I had used the Sony gold headset before, so I figured this would be an upgrade. I am amazed with how this headset sounds. The 3d sound that you get from this headset makes it hard for you to miss the smallest sounds. (Including footsteps in pvp matches). I would highly recommend purchasing this headset if you want a similar sound to an astro headset, but for half the cost. Also, be sure to get the headset companion from psn-totally changed my gaming experience!

I’ve had all Sony headsets this one is better then the gold version and not as good as the pulse. But overall they are good for playing on my ps4 good sound clear with no cracking noise one good set and price not bad.

Amazing sound quality and more importantly comfortable which is important for anyone who plays for long periods of time. I used them mainly for Call of Duty and it gave me an advantage over my teammates that used different headphones. The surround sound profile gave me ability to hear threats near by more accurately. The buttons and software adjustments are very intuitive and easy to use. Would buy again and have already recommended to my gamer friends.

Bought these as my gild set was barely lasting 4hrs before battery was dying. Got them on sale so the price was good. Overall slightly better bass and volume. They integrate with the ps4 software very well like the golds so that was a big plus. My friends say the mic sounds a little better when playing online. Was a reasonable upgrade in battery and sound quality. My only negative is a larger head will be a tight fit with these, I wish they were a little more adjustable in size.

It is amazing to hear your video gaming so clearly! In PVP you can hear the direction that another player is coming from, no matter from the left, the right, above, or even below you! Truly remarkable and changes your game play for the better!
