Great player. Have many 4K DVD's as well as many Blue Rays and plain DVD's. This player makes them all look awesome. For what I paid, it can't be beat. $150.00 on sale. You won't find a better bargain.

Since I just splurged on a Sony 4K OLED TV, I got this Sony Blu-ray 4K player to replace my older player. From what I read, this player not only plays 4K videos (I don't yet own any), but it also upconverts standard and Blu Ray DVDs to what is described "near" 4K quality. This is the part that interested me. It has a ton of great features, and over 5,000 near-five star reviews, so I figured it must be good. Setting up the player was a snap, and Sony provides a high speed HDMI cable as well. So far it seems great, and the size is fairly small. I've always had great experiences with Sony DVD players, so I didn't consider other brands. And since I got a Sony TV, I figured it would play better with a Sony DVD player, which it does, no problems at all.

We've had the Sony UBP-X700/M player for over a month now and it's played every 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD flawlessly that we've tried. Video and audio quality is as expected.

Picture quality is great and player is relatively slim if needed to fit in a shallow space.

This works well. Image on the 4K tv is excellent. There are a few "buttons" on the player (difficult to see) so most operations are done via the remote. The buttons are very close together on the small remote and it may give someone with larger hands or poorer eyes some difficulty. (I had a Samsung player previously and the remote was larger and much easier to operate.) BTW, I killed the Samsung by accidentally turning off the device while the disc was still spinning...probably damaged the reading device. So be patient when turning off your player. Best Buy's price was very competitive.

Nice Blu-ray player. Allows me to access video, picture, & music files on my computer. Videos play very clearly. Taking a bit to figure out the remote.

Excellent picture quality. Plays Blu-ray, and regular DVDs and compact disks. Easy to set up, and you can add streaming apps (if your TV doesn't access your internet). Getting it on sale was a bonus!

Was looking to upgrade a slightly older player so my father could watch the tolkien collection in 4k. Initially looked very similar to the one we had before, so we were very hesitant. However it worked phenomenally. 6 movies later and we didnt have any problems. It was a great product for the price and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a 4k player.

Provides a great picture. Easy to use, and has a volume control on the remote. Does everything we wanted in fine fashion. Been in use daily for six weeks with no troubles.

This DVD player was exceptionally easy to install. Pictures on my TV screen from BluRay disks are as good as I expect. As soon as I can buy a 4K TV, I can expect the pictures from 4K discs will be fantastic.

Bought the UBP-X700/M to replace older Sony player that stopped working but was a decent player. So far it has played all the Blu-Rays and 4Ks we've put in it and the picture quality is good. Had compared to more expensive Panasonic models and found this was a better value for the money. You do get what you pay for but I have limits on how much more I'm willing to spend for a slightly better picture. Hope it lasts.

Great 4k player. Plays 4k movies perfect. I haven't had a problem with it like I did with my previous Samsung 4k player

Our 20 year old Blue-Ray player finally died so we needed another. Our previous unit was a Sony so we decided to stick with what had worked best for us. This unit so far has been great. The up-scaling works very well to make older DVD and Blue Rays look very nice on our 4K television. The interface is very easy to use and the built in Wi-Fi is rock solid. We have not used it for streaming but I believe that is an option as well.

The sound was beautiful and the picture was fine on my 1080p (not 4k) TV but it wasn't happy with my 4k Sony - VPLXW5000ES projector. Running it through a Sony STR-AN1000 AVR (4k-8k) could occasionally get a picture but no sound. I reset everything (resetting the X700 means just disconnecting the power. So does that mean that every time the power goes out you start all over again?) I struggled with various settings for more than three hours before I decided that if this Sony device couldn't play nice with every other Sony device with which it was connected it was going back. I hooked up my old Sony Blu-Ray player and all was right with the world again - except I won't be playing 4k Ultra HD Blu-Rays

I recently ordered this device from Best Buy and all I can say is that it is a Winner!! I upgraded it from a previous Samsung device and this player hooked up to my 4K LG TV is a definite plus! From the crispness of the picture to the saturation of colors and the upgraded audio...what can I say but that I am very happy I purchased this and do highly recommend it especially if you're not necessarily looking to purchase their flagship model and just looking for a decent player that won't break the bank!!! By the way, do not forget to update the firmware as soon as you hook it up as I did and you should not run into any problems later! I'm very happy with it!!!!
