They make cheaper Sony DVD players ,but this one plays all myBluRay and 4K and regular DVD in a very enhanced quality.

More expensive but well worth the extra amount paid.

This 4K player packs a lot of punch for such a small player. Everything is as promoted. Movies with our new Sony full array 75” tv is incredible. Hookup was easy. Spend some money and get a high speed 2.1 Earc cable to go with this player. The data exchange between the player and your TV will be greatly enhanced. Excellent choices all around.

For the price, it's a great 4k Blu Ray player. It does Dolby Vision and HDR but no HDR+ support. I haven't seen a lot of stuff with HDR+ so it wasn't really a big deal to me.

I have watched several Blu-ray movies on this device as well as several DVD movies and one 4K movie. The quality and sound were all great. Easy to install and operate.

If you're looking for the absolute best picture quality, you MUST go with physical media. This is the best value disc player I could find that also supports Dolby Vision.

Very quiet player compared to my LiteOn player that had a humming sound. The picture is very clear as if I was in person when I played a 4k movie. Pausing the movie, the picture is just as clear as a picture taken on a 100 MP camera. I also have a coaxial cable for digital audio running to the Yamaha stereo for surround sound and that makes me have a home theater with the same theater sound system that has satellite speakers, center speaker, front speakers and sub woofer. I would buy this brand again. Also the apps are the same as Roku so that serves as a backup to my Roku player.

This is a fairly high quality UHD player. Not a high end player, but works well and price tag is under $200, which yes is ridiculous, but the least expensive real UHD player. Typical Sony interface, which will be familiar and easy to use for anyone with Sony experience. Small enough that we can take it with us when we travel. Would purchase it again.

Best Blue Ray in the market period! Easy to use. Highest quality in picture whether DVD or BlueRay. Works seamlessly with anhy tv brand.

Plays DVDs and BluRays well. (I returned a more expensive player which did not.) Turns on and opens disk drawer through the LG OLED TV remote without problem, but seems to need Sony remote to eject and turn off. Not a big problem.

This Blu-Ray player is everything I wanted in a player. I have watched several 4K movies on it which is connected to my new 76" LG TV in my living room the family is impressed. I recommend this player to anyone.

Love it, my only minor grip is it is not HDMI 2.1, so I have to change my TV settings back to HDMI 1.4 every time before watching movies or the screen will be blank, other than that the player does as it is supposed to, quiet, looks good, and it was on sale, $149.99 for Black Friday, and finally was in my price range as I was previously using my PS5, SeriesX and Xbox1X as my 4K Blu-ray player but have been waiting for a dedicated player's price to drop in my range and this finally did, and I like it. The apps are pointless as I see no way to add but I did not buy it for the apps, so don't care about that.

This unit is up converting my old dvds better than my previous HD player. It has a small foot print and blends well with other components. Next step is to purchase a 4K classic movie.

Excellent quality , the sound is great , can read DVD and blue ray CDs, easy to install, practically it did by itself just follow the instructions in the TV screen.

I've owned the x800 older model for 3 years but wanted to upgrade for the HDR. Purchased open box excellent should come with all items was missing the HDMI cord no big deal but the Blu-ray player wasn't even wrapped in the box. Dolby vision was awesome sent it back just due to missing items second one wouldn't even play a 4K Blu-ray and I tried eight of them getting the X800M2 open box instead.

Thanks was my first 4K player. Ever since streaming has been a thing I have not used a disc player, but I do love collecting physical media. So I started a collection of movies and bought this player to play them. And it looks fantastic! Very sharp picture with great color (using Dolby vision). And the discs that just have HDR still look amazing. The sound quality is top notch and I've never had any problems. The only problem Ive had with this player is sometimes I just get a black screen and I have to unplug it. But besides that (and even then it's a small problem) I totally recommend this!
