I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get the best home movie experience out of their own mini theater. The 4k experience is definitely worth it

Good value for a 4K player

The one thing I don't like is that you have to enable Dolby Vision in the menu to make it active when watching content that offer DV, otherwise it will basically upconvert all content (even stuff that technically does not offer DV). First world problem, but would be nice if the player could recognize DV and do it automatically.

This saved a lot of space and takes the place of several players. We were able to connect it with our sound system. Great sound!

Open Box Excellent was a lie - DEFECTIVE UNIT

Upon opening up after all the unwiring of a working LG non-wifi unit, the problems all unfolded. The LG OLED recognized a Sony player. Great - but the power button on the unit itself would NOT turn off. The remote didn't do anything. I even changed the batteries - nothing. Also, Sony is a bit out of date with all the monster plug size that eliminates another 2 plug units with a critical surge strip. So shame on you Best Buy for a joke of no quality control/calling it "Excellent" when it was clearly defective. You wasted money shipping it, and took up my time with wiring, returning, etc. And my local store acted like they were doing me a favor returning a defective unit and if I wanted to pay full price for the Black Friday deal I could. How is that "generous" or accommodating? It's what is required by state law. First for everything I guess since I've purchased several items over the years with -0- issues. I did speak with the Store Manager today about what I should've expected for customer service and he said he would follow up with the employee. He tried to take $10-20 off the price to make up for the bad customer service experience but Corporate or Sony allowed for no reductions whatsoever.

I have watched several 4K movies on it which is connected to my new 76" LG TV in my living room the family is impressed. I recommend this player to anyone.

Worth the price.

Whereas it's counterpart both logged out of apps and froze often when watching a DVD or blu-ray, this particular item has never malfunctioned yet.
