Bought this about a year ago, and it’s been solid ever since. So much so that this is my second one for another room. Easy to use, and integrates wonderfully with my TV and sound system.

I bought this to replace my 10 year old Samsung Blu-ray player. Its a great device works great with my Sony 4K TV. I read some Amazon reviews which said that this device was not manufactured well with a feeling of plastic and cheapness. I don't see or feel any of that and even though its still very new, it has all the options and quality I need. I am more enthused now then when I researched. Lets see if this feeling continues over the years I plan to use...

The Sony 4K DVD Player does well with my 4K projector. The experience is a whole different level than regular DVD players.

I'm not going to waste time doing a pros and cons like I normally do. In the case of this player there is a fatal flaw that in my opinion outweighs any positives. This player has an issue accessing the second layer on a disc when watching longer 4K UHD movies. This means your movie my freeze, stutter, not resume after pausing, or drop out sound. For instance I was watching Everything, Everywhere, All at Once and paused the movie to get a drink. I was past half way into the movie and into the second layer of data on the disc. When I came back and pressed play the player didn't respond. Nothing I did could get the player to move past where I had paused. I know it's more expensive but you'd be better off saving more and getting the Panasonic UB820.

Detailed display. Detailed Variety of video and audio settings Custom video settings are very detailed, but easy, an audiophiles dream. Picture quality is on par if not better than the belatted, but reference OPPO 203 which is really saying something. The Sony 800M2 is an excellent choice for any audiophile.

Seems to be a great player. I wish that manufacturers would give more audio options. Such as rca outputs. This item has 2 options hdmi with audio and digital optical. Luckily i can run the optical through a converter into my equalizer.

I love the picture and it goes with my tv great. Easy to use. I had problems with the older version, but this one has been great.

Easy to set up. Makes all of our movies pop! Highly recommended

The Sony UBP-X800M2 is just awesome! No more freezing problems like the cheaper models. I liked it so much that I had to buy my Mom one as well. All her movies now look even much better. This thing is heavy duty not feather weight like other cheap models. Works great!!!

This player has EXCELLENT audio and video qualities. It even offers quick access to Youtube and even Netflix. One very important tip, you should go into the settings options and play around with the audio settings. If you only use the default setting, it may not be the best settings for your setup. So spend a few minutes in the settings menus, especially to change around the audio options.

Picture quality in 4K looks good on my LG Oled 65inch tv. But this is a glitchy Player. They have to be force rebooted when they freeze up. That gets very annoying if it’s in a cabinet and the plug isn’t easily accessible. I bought 2. One for myself and one for my wife’s parents. Both have the same issue. Other than that, I’m pleased.

Great purchase. Easy use. Awesome picture!streaming option is good for dolby atmos content. Wifi not used.

only 4k bluray player worth having aside feom the panasonic models. dolby vison capable is awesome

I purchased this because I upgraded to a full 4K Dolby Atmos video/audio system. I am an audiophile and have a lot of hi-res on DVD-Audio, SACD, and Flac files etc. This Sony can handle pretty much anything including MKV Video. Some of the more expensive competitors (Panasonic) can’t do this which is why I went this route. Very happy with it and highly recommended.

This is the second one I've purchased; and both are working perfectly. Highly recommend this model and Sony is very reliable. It works great with 4K, Blu-Ray, DVD, or CD.
