The best music box I ever heard it plays so clear with a heavy bass

The Sony ULT 9 speaker is a beast. It has the size, sound and features to deliver in just about any situation you need. It’s massive, and comes in a massive box. My unit’s box was pretty destroyed when it got to me, Sony really dropped the ball on the packaging here. There just isn’t enough inside packing material in the right places to make sure it arrives safe, especially if being shipped from coast to coast. The speaker itself did contain some scuffs and scratches, and one pretty good gouge on the top handle, but so far the audio quality does not seem to be an issue. So dodged a bullet there. In the box you get the speaker, the AC power cord and all the reference and warranty info. It’s supposed to also come with an optical cable, but mine did not include that, bummer. At over 65lbs it’s solid and sturdy, and moving around is aided by the built in casters on the back of the enclosure. The top acts as a built in handle that allows you move it around with some ease, using those casters. The casters seem decent, but not anything special, so hopefully they stand up over time. The ULT 9 does have a built in battery that boasts of over 25 hours of life. So even before plugging it in, the speaker had juice that allowed me to immediately power it on, connect devices and start listening. Bluetooth devices connect amazingly quick thanks to the “Fast Pair” feature, and you can connect two Bluetooth devices at once and switch between them. Great for when using at a party or with friends and you want to share the ability to play audio. The 25 hours of battery life would have to be with every bell and whistle turned off and what’s called “Stamina” mode in the settings turned on. I’ve not gotten a full 25 hours from the ULT 9, but using normally with RGB on and ULT EQ and other features on, I can go a full day with audio listening between Bluetooth devices and Optical IN for video monitors. The overall sound is amazing for a Bluetooth speaker. It gets loud, like really loud. More volume than usually needed unless you need to fill a large room or hall, or you’re outside and need that extra volume to push sound further away. The ULT 9 has you covered. But the Bass response is what’s most impressive. The Bass sounds great. Never gets mushy or distorted, and hits amazingly well at both low and high volumes. You can select to have the ULT setting off and just use a flat EQ on the speaker and EQ the audio on the way in. Turning on ULT 1 gives a scooped mid sound, with extra emphasis on the low end, really deep and resonating low bass. ULT 2 sounds more like a traditional “Loudness” setting, where everything is sort of punched up. You also get the option to self EQ on the speaker with an onboard (or “on app” I should say) 10 band EQ, to dial in your own specific sound profile. The 360 degree sound is also nice, but let’s be honest, that just means that two of the tweeters are also placed on the back of the speaker. The woofer and midrange speakers all face forward, so while you do hear sound from behind the speaker, it’s just the highs that are clear since only tweeters are facing that way. It does have onboard audio signal processing that will analyze the room sound and tailor the speaker to the best quality. So in a corner, big room, lots of echo, concrete walls, etc. it will deliver what it thinks is the best sound at that time. You can also turn that off if you want to dial in your own profiles. Overall the sound is great. While not audiophile quality or anything, that’s not what this speaker is meant to be. The overall sound profile for me is excellent low end, average mids and pretty clear highs. The top panel if the ULT 9 has a great touch control menu for lots of settings that you can change right away and not need the Sony SoundConnect app. You have quick access to some RGB settings and color profiles, you can select the input source, volume +/- and play pause. You can also select the ULT EQs from the dedicated ULT button and some great extras like pairing to other Sony speakers and stereo pairing. All of these and the rest of the deep settings can be found in the Sony SoundConnect app. When connected you’ll be given the firmware update most likely, but in the app is where you have full control of the ULT 9’s features. The app also allows you have access to extra gimmicks like “DJ Control” where you can pretend to be a DJ and make fun noises and custom tones over the top of your music, or contort your music into something totally unique. It also has Karaoke mode and supports two wired microphones with the available ¼ jacks. You can also connect a guitar and play through the speak as well, very cool. All great gimmicks to have fun at parties but probably features you wouldn’t use a lot. I have also used the Optical In source a lot. You can use the ULT 9 as a TV booster, taking a lot of low frequencies normally lost to smaller TV speakers and enhancing them and playing them through the ULT 9 which is nice. But I also use the ULT 9 as the main speaker for some monitors in my office, playing Xbox and watching YouTube videos to really get massive sound from them. The ULT 9 is an amazing Bluetooth speaker that really delivers in the BASS and VOLUME departments. Love it!

Best speakers i ever try let see how long will last

The Sony ULT 9 Tower Wireless is impressive! Out of the box, I was initially shocked by its size because it is bigger than our sound system. If you’re someone who likes hosting parties, this is a great party speaker to have. Though the looks might look basic, its lights can really hype up your party as it can change to the beat of the music it’s playing. It also has microphone holders for events where you would need to talk to your guests, or you can use them for karaoke. Too bad this model did not come with microphones. I’ll definitely get the compatible ULT microphones to have the complete package. Also, there’s no need to have this by an electrical outlet. This is a wireless party speaker that, when fully charged, can run up to 25 hours. It came precharged so you can get it working right out the box. We have been using it for a few hours now and the battery level is still about halfway. Since it’s wireless, and though it weighs 75 pounds, Sony made it easy to move it from one place to another by placing wheels on it - a very convenient detail! Now, regarding its features, there’s nothing too fancy about them. There’s the ULT button which boosts the bass... by a lot! You’ll definitely feel the bass thumping, surely you will feel the floor vibrating. It has inputs for 2 mics or 1 mic & 1 guitar. Although it says the second input is for a guitar, the input is for a 1/4” cable so I wonder if you can use other instruments other than a guitar. You also have the option to connect the speaker to your television via optical cable and use that to definitely upgrade its sound system. It has a 3.5 mm audio input and a USB A input to charge your phone. Then there’s the Sound Connect app. Once you download it and connect the speaker to it, you can customize how the lights are displayed, adjust volume, or turn ULT on/off. The sound of this speaker is great! It has a pretty balanced sound even though the bass is marketed as massive. I think you’ll get “massive” bass if you press and activate the ULT button. Besides the bass being great, one thing I can say is that this speaker is one very loud speaker! Not only is it loud, it maintains the quality and integrity of the sound even when levels are up. Again, if you’re looking for a speaker that can entertain a lot of people, definitely get this. For the price, I think it’s truly worth it. Great sound, great bass, easy to move, easy to use, and did I mention? It’s wireless! It’s great for indoor and outdoor parties, and if you don’t have a sound system for your television, this is a great option. I think I might just watch a movie using my projector with this as the sound system. I just wished it came with microphones and not have to buy separately. Nonetheless, this speaker still deserves 5 stars on my book. I actually think the quality, the build, and the features of this party speaker is worth the price point. Great job Sony!

This big beefy machine is a great party speaker and has provided some great karaoke nights for me and the boys. This is a party must have. Pair this with the Sony microphones and have a great time.

The speaker has option to add a mic as a mini-mixer. The quality is nice and is hefty but the sound quality is lack luster compared to the JBL, high end is not as clear, low end is muddy and not as pronounced
