First off, this is not my first Vaio, I personally believe they are better than a lot of the other brands on the market. For the price of this laptop, there is a lot of value. Windows 7 runs way smoother than Vista, and the new processor is way faster than my previous Core 2 Duo. Its night and day, I rebooted this laptop several times as I set up programs and my configuration and it literally took less than 10 seconds to completely reboot. I am completely satisfied with my new computer and would highly recommend this to other potential buyers. For more serious users, perhaps the i5 or i7 processors, etc, would be more useful. I find this computer, for the price, is outstanding.
My only complaint is that the pictures shown on Best Buy's website show a finger print scanner for finger print log on. However, there is no finger print scanner on this model. Which is somewhat disappointing, however not completely necessary.

This is my second Sony laptop. I've had Dells, Compaq and HP. It is faster then any other laptop I've had before. The bottom doesn't get hot. I looked at a lot of laptops before choosing this one. Dell was a great laptop but expensive. Custom building a Dell took 3-4 weeks. I have had horrible luck with Compaq and HP in the past. My last HP died 1 week after the extended warranty period ran out. Needed a new motherboard. My last Sony is still running great. Just ran out of hard drive space. There are a lot of features with the Sony that you don't get with other laptops. Great machine.

This laptop works very good. Great keyboard, good speed, and the graphics are very nice.
However I've already had to start explorer from the task manager and had a BSOD already. But that's Microsoft for ya. Will try Ubuntu or something later.

I bought 'Sony Vaio' thinking the audio speaker were going to have a very nice audio quality but the speakers are far way from the acceptable for an expensive laptop like this.
All the rest is ok but speakers are very bad!
