Massive leap from my OG MDR-1000X's!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently upgraded from my Sony MDR-1000X headphones, which I’ve owned since 2016, to the new Sony WH-1000XM6, and the difference is night and day. The sound quality of the XM6 is incredible. Everything from music to audiobooks sounds so much clearer and more balanced, with crisp highs and punchy lows that the MDR-1000X just couldn’t match. The spatial audio feature is a game-changer; it makes watching TV shows feel like I’m in a movie theater, with sound that wraps around me in a way the older model never could. I didn’t realize what I was missing until now. The Adaptive Noise Cancellation (ANAC) is another huge improvement. With more microphones and a faster processor, the XM6 blocks out noise like never before, it’s like having my quiet bubble. The battery life is also amazing, offering up to 30 hours with ANC on, which is perfect for long trips. I used to worry about charging my MDR-1000X, but with the XM6, that’s no longer an issue. The design is sleeker and more comfortable, and the hard-shell case is much better for traveling. There are also cool new features like Bluetooth LE Audio and a 10-band equalizer, which let me customize my listening experience even more. Overall, the WH-1000XM6 is a fantastic upgrade. Sony has outdone themselves, and I’m thrilled with my purchase!

The improved noise cancellation is noticeably better than the XM4 that I had especially in noisy environments like planes or cafes. Battery life is impressive, easily lasting over 30 hours, and the new design is even more comfortable for long listening sessions. Touch controls are responsive, and the app offers great customization. If you’re looking for premium headphones with top-tier noise cancellation and sound, the XM6 is an excellent choice.

These will be replacing my AirPods Max with incredible noise cancellation, comfortable ear pads, fold flat design, and excellent sound quality. I love the travel case, EQ software, touch controls, and I’m hearing elements of songs that I’ve never noticed before.

I wouldn’t recommend taking headphones like these to a humid / wet environment. Be mindful that the pressure of headphones can feel uncomfortable after long periods of use. The features this headset makes this a great option for individuals wanting customized listening experience. I’ve tested these with laptops, and my iPhone, these sound great on all different sources of input.

Best pair of headphones I’ve had!

Best decision I’ve ever made! The noise cancelling feature is the best, it really cancells out the sounds in your environment a huge plus when travelling. I’ve had mine for a month and i only charged it once. I use it with my iphone, my pc, my steam deck and it’s really easy to pair with my devices.

Amazing headphones

Thoughts on XM6

Coming from the XM4’s, it does lack a bit of bass that those headphones gave me. But something that was improved was the sound that escapes the headphones, if that makes sense. With my XM4s, at a loud volume, sometimes the music would bleed out the headphones, but with this new generation, it does a better job at keeping the sound within the ear cups.

The Auto Noise Cancellation is great though! I played with the app and eq settings and could not get them sounding that great! Especially for $454! Maybe they will sound better with higher quality codecs but I’m happy with my music streaming service so.,,

BEST Noise Cancellation Headphones EVER

I had the Apple AirPod maxes for over a year, and it was TOO HEAVY for my head. I know and I get the hype for them but, the noise cancellations wasn’t great for the gym as much as these headphones were, and sometimes the cuffs would air out to the point I could still hear everything. I love headphones where I can almost hear nothing. These were calling my name the first minute I heard it was coming out, and it was the best decision I have ever made. Noise cancellation is perfect, I don’t hear the little inconvenience of the loud area noise, much to say also A LOT LIGHTER in weight compared to the AirPod Maxes. Quality wise is outstanding, I even wear these to sleep without worrying that I would have an indenture in my head like the AirPod maxes would give me. It also doesn’t fall off my head, and I don’t have a small head whatsoever, the AirPod maxes had so many times it would slip off. These wouldn’t slip off if were to rock n roll my head like a rockstar man. The battery life is 100x better than the AirPod maxes, and I want these to last me for over 10 years because of how amazing these headphones are, and these are DEFINITELY WORTH the hype and the name of headphones.

I never use headphones, but the XM6’s changed my stance on that. They are super light weight and you forget they are on. Super comfortable too!!
