Headphones worked well until a few days after the return period ran out. The stitching in the inner part of the ear pad started to come undone, leaving the foam exposed. Contacted Sony who said it was physical damage and so not covered by their warranty. What a cop out. Sony should stand by their products costing this much. Won't be buying Sony again, and will not recommend their products to anyone.

I have had many bluetooth headphones from bluebuds to jabra as well as plantronics none of them have matched these. The sound quality is amazing which is typical of Sony but what took me by surprise was that the headphones were both bluetooth and wired which means you dont have to settle on one connection. also the base boost option is one that came out of left field it gives you extreme lows without compromising the quality of the music.

When I went into Best Buy, I was unsure if I wanted to pick up a pair of Beats Solo2 or Bose headphones. Originally, I wanted a pair of Bose for the active noise cancellation. I looked at Beats, because a owned a pair of the UR Beats earbuds and was happy with the sound. In the end, however, I walked out with the Sony Extra Bass MDRXB950BT (SEB for short). Hands down the sound coming from these headphones rival that of Beats or Bose headphones. The SEBs are comfortable to wear, the sound possess a punchy bass and clear vocals. In fact, I think turning on the bass boost is overkill for a lot of songs as it feels overpowering, but with bass boost off, everything sounds like a concert in your ears. My only gripe that the headphones don't fold. The cups turn out, so they lay flat in a bag, but having them fold and maybe pairing it with a case would have been great. I work out and not having to be tethered to a cord is awesome. Not to mention, you're not hearing anything in the outside world when you crank up the sound. With NFC and Bluetooth capability, I'm was able to tap my Android phone to the left ear cup and instantly pair the device. Controls are easy to operate and you get 20 hours use per charge. BONUS, even if the headphones are drained, you can still use them by connected the headphones your device with the enclosed aux wire. With better bass and more than $100 cheaper, the SEBs were a great investment. Can you find headphones with better sound? Sure, at sub $200, you will be hard press to find headphones that can do everything the SEBs can.

Awesome for the money One of my jobs is commercial landscaping where music is necessary to keep the body going 10 hrs a day. Ive been thru several types of earbuds and bluetooth headphones in the past...they were ok but didnt block out exterior sounds from my machines and were a bit one dimensional. I took a chance and bought these sony MDRs for 99 bucks....WOW...sound is unbelieveable...full ...rich..and produces more depth in the sound compared to the other products ive used...95percent of exterior noise was canceled out while i was working..awesome...theyre big but light ..durably constructed with a metal head band and 2 large well cushioned ear pieces that are incredibly comfortable...i use these headphones paired with a samsung galaxy 4 phone...i have an after market audio app (Power Amp) which has a 10 band equalizer..the sony MDRs has a bass boost feature which is incredible..the phones bounce in your ears...however if using an audio app eq it may sound cleaner with bass boost turned off...no distortion but bass may overwhelm the highs..comes with power cord...no storage case but then again ive never ever used any cases that ive received before..around the neck is the cool place to store them.

I purchased 4 of these for my family. All of them broke around the same location by the speaker. We contacted Sony for a replacement. They refused. Their sound quality is amazing. This was a lot of money to lose. We are very disappointed Sony would not replace them.

These are a great pair of headphones. Picked these up during the black friday sale for 90 bucks. I had actually bought them the week before for 200. If I could go back in time. I would have bought 3 more. Headphones have passive noise cancelling, wireless but give you the option to hook up manually. Bass Boost is a great addition. Day long battery life. Highly recommended!!!!

This is by far the best headphones of the price range. Sound Quality is crisp and clear. Extra Bass really gives you that extra boom. The battery life is 20 hours which is amazing. No need to worry about keeping it charge for the day. Quality Built. It does not feel flimsy or weak. It is strong and durable. I can't imagine it breaking on regular use. Ear cups are soft and fits nicely in place. Headphones are lightweight and is easy on the head. I have not yet felt fatigue wearing the headphones. Bluetooth/NFC connection is a plus. You can connect it to any bluetooth ready device. NFC is a feature I like because I can use it with my Sony Xperia Z3, just by having it touch an earcup which will connect automatically. Overall, this headphone is the best in the market of the same price range. In comparison to Beats Solo 2 and Bose Soundtrue.

I have owned several headphones from Sony and this one does not disappoint. It lives up to the pedigree and the "EXTRA BASS" claim screamed on the box is definitely true. The headphones sound great, and the Electronic Bass Booster is ridiculous. There is a definite emphasis on the low end so if you listen to Pop or any bass-forward genre, you will definitely appreciate the added oomph. That said, though, it is a solid choice across almost every music type (even classical). So far, battery life has been solid and when charging with an AC adapter paired with the in-box microUSB cable is fairly fast. In light of the fact that it has been discounted a lot lately, I think its a great time to pick them up for a spin. The lack of a case is a definite bummer, but by no means a deal breaker. I recommend trying them in store especially since many Best Buy locations (as well as the Sony Store, few as there are left...) have them on display with demos. Hope y'all enjoyed this review. :)

I recently bought a Sony Xperia Z3, and because It supports Hi-Res audio, I figured I should buy a pair of their headphones to take advantage of the feature. These headphones are far and away the best I have ever used. They can get very loud and without the sound washing out, have an excellent balance of treble and bass, are superbly comfortable to wear, and have a very high ease of use level, that is, they're easy to set up with NFC, they compact into a convenient, storage friendly shape, and the skip, pause/play and volume buttons are in logical places. The best bonus perk to them is the battery life. As it is with almost all Sony products today, I can use these for a long time without having to charge them. I got about 2 weeks of daily use out of them, sometimes for hours at a time. Also nice is the included dual sided auxiliary cable and microUSB cable. The Bass Boost effect does exactly as it says and then some. It's as if you're in a club with monster subs. Overall and in every category, these are superb headphones that will not disappoint.

I'm not huge on buying headphones or speakers, but they sound very nice to me (you will notice the difference between these and headphones $50 cheaper). The sounds are nice and clear, and they have a nice bass boost function (only when using bluetooth). If you prefer, these headphones can also use an audiocable to connect to devices without bluetooth. Volume and play controls are easily accessible on the right earpiece. The rechargeable battery lasts quite a long time (15-20 hours of use). I especially love how comfortable these headphones are. The cushions are extra soft. My ears get a bit hot wearing them for a long time though. My complaints is that the bass boost, volume, and other controls can only be used with the bluetooth. I'm also a bit worried about the cushions wearing out because I can't seem a way to order replacements from Sony. Additionally, you can't replace the audiocable it comes with just any cable because of the thin entrance on the headphone's side. However, it seems such cables are not difficult to find online.

I just got them a couple days ago and I really like them. The battery life is great and the comfort for me is also great. My everyday listening headphones are the Sennheiser Momentum M2, but having wireless headphones are very convenient. I've never had Sony headphones before so I can't compare to any others that Sony may have, but I'm extremely happy with these Bluetooth headphones from them. The build quality is very good in my opinion. The connectivity is also very good for me, I live in a fairly large house and I can walk all over and not loose connection from my media device. The bass is awesome even if the bass boost is turned off, It brings a good amount of thump to the music I listen to. The price is also really good!

I looked for a long time and tried a bunch of sets out in BB. But finally decided on this one. To be honest I wanted to try out some senhizers but BB doesn't appear to carry them any more. Anyway the head set has great batter life. One charge typically keeps me going for 2 weeks of f casual use or all day. Sounds good, bass is great! The wired option is outstanding. The headset is also quite comfortable. Fits over my ears nicely. And the head band doesn't press down in any irritating manner. Great header. It has my recommendation!

great quality, I like it how if you're not using the bluetooth, you could simply plug in the AUX.... It's worth to mention that beside being a little bit but it's comfortable while you have it on (it's soft and I wear them for a two hours session no problem) the battery life is above average (gives more than I expected) my humble opinion is that I like it over the other headphones (even the beats) since I enjoy the experience of having no cable (bluetooth) and not paying over my budget... and still get great quality I totally love it, it's a great buy and recommend it to others as well

If you are a bass head look no further. These are easily the most powerful bass headphones out right now. The extra bass feature is pretty mind blowing and enhances music so much, but has to be for the right songs. If the song already is extremely bass heavy there is no need for the extra bass. Sometimes it can be a little excessive, but luckily the extra bass button is located very conveniently to turn on or off if the bass gets a little too much for you. With or without the extra bass these headphones are very clear. High mids and lows come through pretty clearly. For the price you can not beat the value you get with these. They are not as "pretty" or as stylish looking as the Wireless Beats Studios but the sound quality is better and for half the price. I listened in best buy to these sonys and the beats for a half hour each because I was debating which one to buy and I'm pretty sure I made the right decision. I would say the clarity is equal and the comfort level physically between the two are as well, but the bass gives the Sonys the edge along with the price tag obviously. Overall I am extremely happy with the decision I made. Save money and get these headphones.

I have a pair of Dr Dre beats headphones, and now this pair of Sony. Both sound great. Beats has a deeper Fuller sound and Sony a more lighter crisper sound. I was surprised how well Sony sounded and the bass boost delivers more than enough bass when needed. The design for the headphones is excellent. The speakers twist and turn in every position possible making for a great fit over head and ears. The cushion around speakers provide a comfortable feeling yet sealing up around ears cutting down on outside noise around you.
