Yup, the buttons are tough

Always recommend speck to others. Never owned a clear one before though. I saw other people's reviews that the buttons are hard to press, but then it sounded like a new version came out, so I ordered anyways. Unfortunately, it is very hard to press the buttons on the ones we received. Cannot do essential functions such as double click or screen shot. However, I believe it will protect the phone from a fall.

Great case

HOWEVER, it has a major flaw which is disappointing, It is extremely difficult to push the buttons on the side. I have two use two fingers together at times. I have owned Speck cases before and loved them due to their thin and translucent nature, but I would never repurchase this due to the difficulty involved in regular use. I am so sad and disappointed!

Good case for iphone mini 12.

It is not as grippy as advertised. Buttons are very hard to press. Returned, and bought a Spigen Core Armor case instead. if you are considering this case, check out the Spigen case instead.
