I find stock phones and most cases to be too slippery for my butterfingers, so a case with added grip is necessary. Yes, they have changed the design so that the grooves are inward instead of ribbed outward. I assume this was made so it can be 100% MagSafe compatible. Either way, the case is still very grippy and keeps me from dropping my phone. After a brief adjustment period to the different feel, I like it just as much as the older models. Recommended.

Its not terrible as is, just feel that the pervious iteration was better. Can be difficult to take off due to tight fit!

I’ve thrown my phone at walls, the ground, people and the hard plastic chipped on the edge but it’s kept my phone perfect!
