I purchased the matte black and it's a very nice color and you can also see the apple logo light up when you turn the MacBook on.

Solid, Lightweight, Great FIt

Can be a little challenging to attach but totally worth it. Weighs next to nothing and adds a nice grippy feel to the MacBook Air. Worthwhile investment and highly recommended.

It's not like an otter box where it's indestructible, however, it's thin enough to fit in my bag & protect it from everything else in there.
