    A great Bond film

Tgis film is a treat for James Bond and Daniel Craig fans. It ties together all the prior movies with Mr. Craig and is still familiar for those fans who started out with the franchise when Sean Connery debuted. The scenery, plot and acting are first rate, as well as the usual gadgets and obligatory explosions. As a longtime Bond fan, I was not disappointed by this film. Cristoph Waltz is a brilliant part of this movie and adds a complex villian to the mix. Well worth seeing. The Steel book packaging exclusively from Best Buy is a nice touch. Also nice is having both the blu ray and digital copies of the flim to watch.

Reviewing the steelbook, not the movie

Let me start my saying I am not planning on reviewing Spectre as a movie. Craig is either your cup of tea as Bond, or he isn't. If you dig him, then this movie is probably right up your alley. I'm here to review the steelbook. If you were able to get this version when it was on sale for only a $2 premium over the regular BR+DVD+UV copy then I'd say it was worth it. Otherwise, just go for the regular copy which looks to currently be $10 cheaper. The details on the steelbook are very nice, and the bullet shattering through glass look comes across really nicely. Bottom line unless you get a great deal or collect steelbooks, go for the regular version.

I actually liked Spectre more then I liked Skyfall. Though Skyfall was a good movie. The 3rd act always felt like it fell a little flat to me. However Spectre was an all around enjoyable Bond movie. I do have to cry that Daniel's Bond keeps destroying the Aston Martins he is given. I did like the premise of the movie and how it has tied all the Bond movies Daniel Craig has starred in together. I thought we were going to get a " Jaws" type character with the one villain henchman but unfortunately that did not happen. I would recommend Spectre. If I was to rate the Craig Bond movies. Casino Royale would be first. Followed By Spectre, Skyfall and finally Quantum of Solace.

First of all, I'm a big fan of Daniel Craig as James Bond. He is, in my opinion, the best Bond yet. I've found the first three Craig movies very enjoyable, with Skyfall being my favorite. Spectre is a sort of wrap up of the story arc spanning all four Daniel Craig movies and does a very good job of tying things together. It's a bit more old school than the previous three movies featuring more traditional Bond gadgets. Of course, like all Bond movies, it has plenty of action and chases. Overall, I found it very enjoyable and it certainly didn't disappoint, however, I still liked Skyfall the best.

I pre-ordered the Steelbook edition of the latest Bond adventure Spectre. I'm glad I did too, because when I went in to my local BB on release day all the steelbook versions of Spectre were already gone! As for the movie itself it's quite entertaining, although not quite as good as the previous film Skyfall. There picture and sound quality on the Blu-Ray disc is outstanding! Also included was a digital copy via ultraviolet. For some reason though there wasn't a DVD version included with the set. And the steelbook is a great collectible package. If you can find yourself a copy, get it! Thank s BB!

SPECTRE Stumbles where SKYFALL Left Off

I saw my first James Bond film at fifteen. What I saw, some say, is the worst Bond picture of all time. 2002's Die Another Day featuring the last go-around for Pierce Brosnan as the famous British super spy was goofy fun at the time, especially for someone keenly unaware of any of the traditional elements and archetypes included in a Bond film, but four years later and one year after the revolutionary origin story that was Batman Begins made it okay to make something campy into something more grounded and serious we received a new kind of Bond, a more grounded in reality Bond with a seriously serious streak about him. That isn't to say that producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli overcompensated as Casino Royale still sits as my favorite of the Daniel Craig Bond films. For what it's worth, I don't necessarily have a great affinity for the Bond movies. They have never done much to excite me, but I look forward to them because I more or less know what I'm getting, but on a grand scale. And I like epic. Moreover, Craig is the Bond of my generation and if I were to have any type of fondness for any of these films it would be his rough and rugged incarnation of the typically suave MI6 agent. All of this is to say that while I appreciate what the producers and director Sam Mendes (Skyfall) have done for the series in being bold and essentially wiping the slate clean and starting from scratch it can't help but feel as if they ran out of tricks with the latest installment, Spectre. While there is much to like in this new film-the set pieces are consistent, the familiar elements more present than ever since Craig took over as well as the gorgeous cinematography from Hoyte Van Hoytema (her, Interstellar) capturing it all-and yet there is something missing from the story. There is a lack of substance while still holding an unbelievable amount of aspiration. Spectre feels like a film that wants and has the intention to do so many things and fulfill so much fan service that it actually ends up doing very little. To say Spectre is a waste of time or even a bad movie is too harsh as there is clear craft that has been put into the final product, but what the film is and what it wanted to be are clearly two very different entities.

Good movie with an opening continuous shot that is amazing to behold. From a theatrical stand point Spectre is a solid entry in the Bond series. In my opinion, a defining villain is what makes for a compelling story. I would have rated the movie higher if that were the case here but it felt more like a lost opportunity. Good movie but could have been better. From a technical view the Bluray is well mastered with excellent images and audio. About what we would expect from the format. The extras included seem a bit slim but still a nice bonus. Overall a good choice for any movie collector and worth holding a spot within my collection.

    Daniel Craig's swan song

Spectre is not the best of the Daniel Craig's James Bond movies, but it was a bit typical Daniel Craig James Bond, sardonic, at times, and he seemed to be acting out the role as if he did not want to portray James Bond again (his contract calls for one more Bond movie, and, there will be another Bond movie). Resolution is good and audio about the same. The steel case version bluray is very much like what I wanted, simple, but affective design. I am sure that there are other Bond fans that may think otherwise of Spectre and the steel case bluray version, but overall, I would rate the movie about 4 stars and steel case a 4 1/2 stars.

I was not a big fan when Daniel Craig got the gig, but with the more realistic reboot of the franchise and the more in depth look at bond's history with a little mystery built in it was a great way to take the franchise in my opinion. Spectre really is just scratching the surface and I don't know if they will go any deeper but the movie for me is my favorite bond. There is good action some humor mixed in with a good baddy to take down. I like the way they tied bond and specter together in the story. It may not be a 5 star movie for everyone but it is a 5 star Bond movie.

So you say you like Bond movies, than this particular movie is one of the best made. Now I'm not saying that the others aren't , but you can be sure you're getting your money worth purchasing this one for sure. So upon purchasing this movie make sure you've done everything you need to accomplish before you even think about watching. Because you'd be very disappointed of not knowing where your at as far as the scenes go, it's important in so many ways. Otherwise you're not going to be able to enjoy it the way it should be, and that's not "GOOD" But this movie "IS"!!

This has some of the best action sequences on film with some familiar characters and new threats in the form of Dave Bautista and Christoph Waltz who have many moments to shine. Where this film struggles a little is in trying to tie itself to all the prior Daniel Craig-helmed Bond films with some clumsy opening credit flashbacks showcasing villains and allies of the past and a little exposition later on trying to link it all together. Even if it doesn't serve to confuse, it just doesn't make an impact other than as an advertisement to go see the other films if you haven't already. A minor gripe to an otherwise solid film.

Daniel Craig plays an excellent successor to Pierce Brosnan as the famous Englishman spy Agent 007. Without giving away too much of the plot, Bond is shocked to discover that a former high-ranking official who knows him personally, is actually the leader of the SPECTRE organization! What follows is the classic but well done formula of mystery, intrigue, car chases, gadgets, witty banter, over the top villains who blab their master plan when they think they've captured him, Bond babes, etc. Everything you expect and know and love from the James Bond series.

Just purchased a New Samsung 4K UHD 65" Q90T Q-LED TV and got a Samsung 4K UHD Blu-ray DVD player with a Samsung Q950T Surround Bar System and purchased this 4K UHD Movie as it is one of my many favorites. The ATMOS DTX surround sound and Picture are awesome! Like being in a Movie Theater, especially since theatres have been closed due to COVID-19. The 4K DVD was at a good price too during black Friday sales.

Spectre has received harsh criticism of its skyfall followup. And if I were to think about and break the movie down, I too would be on that bandwagon. However, if I take the movie for face value and just simply watch for fun, I find this another enjoyable installment in the series. The sound is really good in the opening scene to get the pace moving in the right direction. If you are expecting this movie to build on Skyfall or better Casino, then you'll be let down most likely. This does make me eager to see which direction bond goes next for sure!

I really enjoyed Spectre and am a little sad that this may be the last time we see Daniel Craig in the iconic role. That being said, I really appreciated his performance as 007. I think the Best Buy Steelbook is a great design. Pretty minimalist but still very sleek-looking and impactful. The bullet hole design adds some depth to the steelbook and an overall cool look on front and back. I had previously picked up the Best Buy steelbooks of Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace and Skyfall but the new Spectre steelbook is definitely my favorite.

At our house this is pretty much our favorite Bond, and we are all agreed that we like Craig better than either Connery period. Heresy? I dunno. Of course, there are some reeealllly long stretches, such as Mr. White's character and especially Blofeld, but the flick gets respect for trying to find a way that ties it all together. Love M, Moneypenny, and Tanner casting, still not happy with this Q. But to those haters out there, can't we at least agree on this--as many stretches and holes are in this plot, isn't it still more satisfying than anything with Moore, Dalton or Brosnan?

When you think that Daniel Craig as 007 is at the end of the line he still surprises you with a terrific performance. Nevertheless, Ralph Fiennes does not quite fit the role of M that we are used to. Christoph Waltz as the evil head of Spectre gives a strong performance and is equal to Daniel Craig's 007 role. Madeleine Swann played by Lea Seydoux is really the mystery in this movie. There is a strange quality about her that initially puts you off, but as the story unravels, she becomes more attractive. All and all, Spectre and Daniel Craig does not let us down in the newest James Bond episode.

A cryptic message from the past leads James Bond (Daniel Craig) to Mexico City and Rome, where he meets the beautiful widow (Monica Bellucci) of an infamous criminal. After infiltrating a secret meeting, 007 uncovers the existence of the sinister organization SPECTRE. Needing the help of the daughter of an old nemesis, he embarks on a mission to find her. As Bond ventures toward the heart of SPECTRE, he discovers a chilling connection between himself and the enemy (Christoph Waltz) he seeks.

This movie has all of the elements of a James bond movie that I expect and are looking for when I sit down to watch the double O go to work. It starts out with a slick little interaction that seems somewhat disjointed from the expected story but like usual will tie into the main plot. The locations were as expected very pretty or at least interesting. Like usual this bond has minimal gadgets, or at least "typical" toys and since I started my Bond watching days on the Moore run of films I do miss the more outlandish of them.

Assuming Daniel Craig will never put on another suit as 007, this movie serves as a bow to tie up the franchise, finishing the transformation of 007 from Casino Royale to Spectre. Although the storyline is good, I must admit that I'm conditioned by superhero movies to expect more action and explosion, forgetting this movie takes place in a real world where story and realism matter more. Don't let me stop you from purchasing the movie because I won't be returning the movie even if I am given the option. I like to have a good ending to a story and Spectre serves that purpose for me.
