Solid game, but feels a bit to samey to previous entries in the series. However, I did enjoy the single player campaign.

This is a fun game overall, but does not really add a ton from the first game. I will say the campaign is fun and better than 2 and it is nice that salmon run is always available to play. But other than that it is very similar to 2.

Splatoon 3 takes everything fans love about the series — explosive ink battles, quirky style, and nonstop action — and refines it into one of the most enjoyable multiplayer shooters on the Nintendo Switch. From the moment you jump in, the game bursts with personality. The world feels alive with vibrant stages, energetic music, and ink-splattering chaos that always keeps you on your toes. Whether you’re zipping around as an Inkling or a fresh-faced Octoling, the movement remains fast, fluid, and incredibly satisfying — darting up walls, curling into squid form, and splatting opponents feels great at every turn. The core multiplayer modes are as addictive as ever. Turf War remains a perfect introduction to the game’s mechanics, while more competitive modes like Splat Zones and Rainmaker offer layers of strategy and teamwork that keep matches intense and rewarding. Each map feels thoughtfully designed, with climbs, tunnels, and inkable surfaces that encourage creativity and adaptability. One of the standout improvements is the weapon roster. With loads of fresh options — from rapid-firing shooters to trickshotting rollers — every playstyle gets its moment to shine. The new Trizooka and Splatana weapons add satisfying bursts of power that shake up the meta without overpowering it. The single-player campaign, *Return of the Mammalians*, is a delightful detour from multiplayer mayhem. It blends clever level design with fun boss fights and gives players a chance to practice their skills in a laid-back, story-driven environment. Nintendo also keeps things fresh with frequent updates, seasonal events, and new gear that gives players more incentive to jump back in. The community feels welcoming and creative, with players constantly experimenting.

Definitely a very interesting. Take on shooter games. If you’re not much into games like Call of Duty® or battlefront, this gives you a whole new perspective. We’re shooting people just isn’t the main objective. It’s also covering as much ground as you can by using as many different type of weapons as you possibly can. Very fun multiplayer as well as a single player. Coupled in with the add-on packs it makes for literally hours of fun.

The gameplay and movement is even better than previous entries, the amount of new content even just on launch is massive, the worldbuilding, polish, and music is as good as ever, and singleplayer is FANTASTIC. Best game on Switch, competitive or casual. Also play with gyro controls.

Nintendo knew exactly what needed to be done to improve on the already excellent Splatoon franchise with Splatoon 3. The changes might seem minor, but everything feels so fresh. The new weapons are an actual blast, and the story is a fun distraction. You are really getting this game for online multiplayer and it does not disappoint. Frantic, fast, fun matches that don’t mess with the already stellar gameplay are still here. Gone are all the weird Nintendo online quirks. While queuing for a match you can splat up a random lobby. You can join a friend with relative ease. You can opt to keep playing with the group you just finished a match with. All these things seem like small touches but they all add up to such a better online experience. “Just one more game” has never been easier.

The attention to detail in every map and character is remarkable, making it a true visual spectacle. Nintendo's commitment to maintaining a consistent and high-quality aesthetic shines through, adding an extra layer of immersion to the experience. One aspect that truly sets Splatoon 3 apart is its robust online multiplayer component. The matchmaking system is well-refined, ensuring fair and balanced matchups that keep you on your toes. The ability to team up with friends or play against players from around the world amplifies the thrill of competition. Additionally, the ongoing updates and events promise to keep the game fresh and engaging for years to come. Beyond the exhilarating multiplayer battles, Splatoon 3 delivers a captivating single-player campaign. The storyline is engaging, filled with unexpected twists and turns that kept me glued to the screen. The campaign's inventive level design and creative boss battles showcase the game's depth and ingenuity. Furthermore, Splatoon 3 embraces the sense of community, allowing players to join forces in cooperative modes and share their creative side through the game's robust customization options. The ability to express oneself through unique gear, hairstyles, and ink colors adds a personal touch to the experience, fostering a strong sense of individuality within the Splatoon community. Lastly, the game's soundtrack deserves a special mention. The energetic and catchy tunes perfectly complement the action on screen, immersing players in the world of Splatoon 3. From its peppy anthems to its moody tracks, the music adds an extra layer of enjoyment to every moment. In conclusion, Splatoon 3 is an ink-credible masterpiece that has solidified its position as a must-have title on the Nintendo Switch. Splatoon 3 is just as great as Splatoon and Splatoon 2! I love the new weapons they added, and I'm still happy they kept the NES Zapper in the game, which is my favorite one! One thing I'm still a little confused about is the way you can buy the splatting guns. Instead of coins, you use some kind of tickets from playing more games, if I remember right. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't hinder play in any way, it was just interesting how they changed that. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who's never played Splatoon before! :D

I remember being excited for Splatoon when the first game was announced over 10 years ago. I have been playing every game in the franchise for over a decade and got the first game the day it came out in May 2014. The second game came out and showed people how much more the franchise can expand and evolve. The third game has done this very well. I love this game to put it simply. It is one of Nintendo's most enjoyable franchises and shows how the company is still the dominant player in the entire video game market to this day. The only issue I had with the third game is the story mode which was very good, but felt lacking compared to the second game. Besides this, the game is excellent and I would call this one of the most important switch games to get. I would say this is the pinnacle of the switches online games and is a necessity for the console.

Great addition to the Splatoon series. Adds so much new content from remixes of original maps, new items, weapons, modes, with much more to come. The single player offers dozens of hours of gameplay and the online modes offer so much more playtime. I highly recommend this game for the single player or the online. It looks and plays better than either of the previous games. I put over 380 hours in Splatoon 2 and this game just improves the gameplay in so many valuable ways.
