This game is really fun a game that i thought i would just play a few times. But man was i wrong best nintendo game of 2015. the only thing that sucks is that the wii u needs to be connected to internet with ethernet witch you need to buy. Because if you play wi-fi you will get a little lag making game play not as fluid.

I was going to pass on this game even though I'm a huge Nintendo fan but picked it up on sale because one of my daughters wanted it. Turns out I almost missed a great game and a shooter that is actually fun to play online. With a unique spin on the FPS genre and a light gearted aesthetic, this is a game we all enjoy and playing online is fun even if you are a casual player, unlike CoD where you have to dedicate your life to the game to stay competitive.

After playing all the new shooter games Splatoon is a breath of fresh air. The simple concept of painting the competition gives a great approach for less competitive gamers. For the hardcore types the option to go after the competition sending them back to start gives Splatoon something for all. Great game for families.

I was a little bit undecided about getting this game at first, but I tell you what I am glad I did. The concept is great and the gameplay is fun. I haven't explored everything yet but every time I have played so far I have enjoyed it very much. Also being an amiibo collector I bought the amiibos as well. Well done Nintendo.

Under the traditional, cute Nintendo visuals is an excellent shooter. It functions well in both one and team player modes, great controls and is truly fun. It makes good use of the amiibo's to provide extra missions and challenges. If you enjoy this genre then this is a surprisingly good addition to a crowded field.

Mulitplayer is fast paced and single is perfection.

My 6 year old daughter and I have been playing this game almost non-stop since purchasing it. It is highly entertaining and fun to play and offers a good introduction to the first person shooter genre for younger gamers. The game play is fast and exciting, and easy to pick up for 15 minute or several hour sessions. Bravo!

This game is silly, there's no way around it. But all of the goofy antics aside, it is an incredibly competent competitive shooter with a growing community. The limited game modes and maps are kind of disappointing but with the free DLC promised in the future its easy to look past that. Just get the game, you'll like it

Great shooter,without the grittiness of the darker games currently out.Very worthy of the nintendo title.Lot of weapons,and gear to customize with.Different gear gives you different stats so you can mix and match for different play styles.I'd recommend this to anyone who likes nintendo or a more light hearted shooter.

This inventive game from Nintendo capitalizes on the shooter gameplay that is so popular, while keeping it friendly for young players. 5 Stars!

Splatoon offers a simple yet addictive gaming experience that is fun and enjoyable whether playing traditional multiplayer or online multiplayer. What it lacks in expansive features, it makes up for by nailing the core game play mechanics enabling for a unique and genuinely fun gaming experience for any Wii U owner.

Purchased this game for my sons 11th bday. He loves this game. We only have one WiiU console and the tw handhelds controllers from his old Wii. My only complaint is that he can't play multiple players at home without us having to purchase another WiiU console or new controllers. Overall a great game our son loves.

I was akeptical at just how fun this game would be. I was lucky enough to play the game at WonderCon before it came out and almost immediately decided to get it. Love the multi-player engine on it and how expandable the game is with the addition of gear, weapons and game maps. Having amiibo added on is a plus.

This is a very fun take on 3rd person shooting games. It doesn't matter how good you are because it is a blast just to cover the entire level with ink. I don't recommend this if you don't have a reliable internet connection, but it does have a single player mode so you don't have to be online all the time.

A great premise and executed nicely, Splatoon is a must own for your Wii U. Seeing as the game system itself has struggled to have a library of games thus far and seeing as Nintendo keeps recycling games from past successes, this one's a breath of fresh air (sorta). Though the majority of their games rely on their Virtual Console choices you can repurchase from Nintendo's Wii U online store, core titles have been few and far in between. Splatoon has currently had a few updates adding more and more game modes it didn't ship with, kinda filling up an empty carcass to fatty the meat on it's bones... having said such, it still is worthy of a buy. It's kid friendly, cartoony violence take on the competitive multi-player genre has it's moments though also the opposite. The controls take A LOT of getting used to, seeing as aiming the gamepad itself towards the TV is nauseating and it's camera work becomes on par with the Blair Witch Project's. Once you get it down though (patience being a virtue) the game clicks and can be a lot of fun. The pricetag is an embarrassing hit below the belt because in my humble opinion, if Nintendo wants to sell more games out of an almost empty library they may want to sell their exclusives on the cheap instead of $60 like most 2nd party titles tend to maintain. More fans will be tempted to try a game (albeit the system in general) if the price is underwelming. Nintendo games would do better if they were more market savvy and kept up with big dogs. Their portable systems always do better than their mainstream... so they may wanna ask that division questions on how they do so well.

This game is a colorful mess in some of the best ways possible. There is some parts lacking, like a more coherent match-making or the ability to change equipment before a round starts, and no voice chat. These do not deter from the bite-sized matches or the frenetic pacing that keeps players on their toes.

Good bye brown and grey, hello vibrant environment. This is one of the most colorful games to come along, and artistically one of the best looking shooters ever made. To win you don't have to shoot other players, just cover more of the level in paint than they do. Very family friendly, exceptionally fun.

This is a great and original title by Nintendo. Leave it to them to find a way to make a non-violent shooter that even hardcore FPS gamers can enjoy. The controls take a little while to get used to, but once you master them, it's very fluid and fun. Excellent multi-player action for the whole family!

This game has a lot of charm, of course. This is what Nintendo specializes in. Good clean fun. It's nice to play a shooter without blood and gore. The DLCs (free by the way) add a lot to the longevity of the game. It is very customize-able. The characters are fun. The levels are challenging but not frustrating. It is a great multiplayer game that is best play with other people in the room. It always livens up a party, too.

Game is a solid shooter. Crazy fun for all ages. Kids that aren't even good at shooters can just chill and paint the walls and contribute to the team. They have ranked mode for those of us that enjoy a challenge, and it is actually challenging. Tons of free DLC, weapons, and maps to boast as well.
