Couch co-op, no extra charges like dlc or micro transactions so you get the full game. There’s very few gaming companies that do this these days so you have to support them when you can

A great game to play on PS5 local coop, just like It Takes Two. Best Buy delivery was great, I'll order delivery from them moving forward.

I have yet to play the developers other games, but hearing the hype I decided to take the plunge and buy it to try with my online friend. It’s blown both of us away and is very fun. Both in gameplay elements and the little “for nothing” things you can do in the level. Let’s just say these two 40 year olds sound like teens chuckling and saying things like “dude look I’m carrying a giant ball lol”. The visuals are also very cool. The negatives I could point out, though they are nothing compared to the positives, is lack of voice chat, lack of “pointing/pinging at something, and a caution that it’s current gen only. Sorry PS4…. “PlayStation network party chat” being down twice now has caused us to be almost unable to progress at all as some areas require talk amongst the players. Having a way to point out things or ping them could help a little. It could be advertised a little better that it is unplayable on older systems like PS4 etc. The party pass description makes it sound like it’s able to be played on all consoles. Only deep dive looking it up you barely come across the small print that it’s not. Long story short though, if you have local friends or online PS5 friends, this is an amazing game to play and explore together. Surely it will be nominated for Game of the Year.

Five Stars: Arcade Racing With Explosive Style

Split/Second on PlayStation 5 brings back the kind of high energy arcade racing that is all about speed, spectacle, and pure fun. It is not trying to be a simulation. It is a fast, chaotic, visually intense racer built around big moments and constant action. What Stands Out - Fast paced racing with a strong arcade feel - Tracks that change dynamically as explosions reshape the course - Smooth performance on PS5 with quick load times - Satisfying sense of speed and impact - Easy to pick up and play, even for casual racers Gameplay Experience The core hook of Split/Second still works extremely well. Triggering explosions, collapsing buildings, and shifting track layouts mid race keeps every lap unpredictable. The PS5 hardware helps the game feel more fluid, and the visual effects hold up surprisingly well. It is the kind of racer where you can jump in for a few rounds and immediately have fun. What Could Be Improved - No major new content compared to earlier versions - Single player is enjoyable but can feel repetitive over long sessions - Some players may prefer more traditional racing mechanics Final Thoughts Split/Second remains a stylish, explosive arcade racer that delivers exactly what it promises: fast action, dramatic track changes, and a constant rush of adrenaline. It is a great pick for players who want something simple, exciting, and visually over the top. A strong addition to any PS5 library if you enjoy arcade style racing.

If you were a big fan of the It Takes Two style of co-op gameplay than this one is a must. Hazelight continues to be the go-to creators of some of the most memorable co-op sessions of my time. Split Fiction is no different. Beautiful worlds, intense sequences of split-second decision making and characters you genuinely start to fall in love with. I loved every minute of this game and never saw any section of the story as filler or boring. Its honestly the perfect game to play with your "non-gamer" partner and still have a blast. Character depth like the Mariana Trench partnered with an excellent story of corporate baddies, this game goes above and beyond with shooting, slashing, platforming and puzzles you would come to expect from the spiritual successor to It Takes Two. But this time there are dragons!

I bought Split Fiction to play with the wife. We really enjoyed It Takes Two, we when SF was announced we instantly knew we were going to buy it. I buy most of my games and all of my consoles from amazon. They always delivery pristine products with decent delivery times. Split fiction was one of the best games from 2025, which is a huge compliment considering how stacked this year has been! The graphics, performance, story, and especially the gameplay were all amazing! I highly recommend it!!

My wife and I played “It Takes Two” from the developers of this one and both were awesome. Split Fiction took the co-op concept and took it over the edge and made it better. We loved it. The only small issue was that parts of it triggered her motion sickness so we had to take breaks every so often. Overall, if you want a couch co-op game to play with a friend or spouse, buy this and play it. It is a great game!

Fabulous multiplayer game! The best part about Split Fiction is that only one player needs to get the game, and another friend can join in using an invitation. I beat the game with a friend playing online, and it was one of the best gaming experiences we had this year. The gameplay is fun, with new elements across each level which switches things up consistently and keeps everything fresh. The final boss segment was mindblowing! I'd highly recommend this game to anyone looking for an amazing co-op experience.

I absolutely loved Split Fiction. My partner and I played it nonstop. I’ve completed a lot of games over the years, but this one really stands out. It’s packed with creative puzzles, incredibly fun situations, and surprisingly challenging boss fights with very diverse mechanics. What impressed me the most is how many genres it blends together - arcade elements, simulation, RPG aspects, shooters, 2D segments - it feels like multiple games seamlessly combined into one experience. And the gravity mechanics were especially brilliant. The asynchronous gravity sequences, where you and your partner operate under different gravitational rules at the same time, were just mind-blowing. It constantly forces communication and coordination in the best possible way. This game is pure cooperative magic.

I bought this so my daughter and I could have some fun together! They don’t make enough 2 player games any more. We beat the other game from This studio so I figured it would be worth the money. It definitely is. Her and I really enjoyed playing this. Good story. Good graphics. Pretty easy learning curve.

OMG this game brings adventure to the table! My wife and I have waiting for this game to come out since last year! I even pre ordered it! When it finally came out I set a date for us to play all day and with some snackies. We were hooked on playing for hours, wandering around the levels, looking for hidden gems, etc. This game is a must get for couples/friends who are looking to build trust and add a little fun to their relationship. It is the same creator of the other game “It takes Two” with a whole new different kind twist that you wouldn’t expect.

This was an automatic buy for our family and it did not disappoint. Gameplay is great, graphics are fantastic and story is awesome. Bonus: no glitches or issues, just hich is so freaking rare these days. We played It Takes Two, then A Way Out, so this is our third game experience from this studio. It won’t be the last. We’ll be buying any game this studio puts out in the future.

Split Fiction is a great game. I’ve been playing it with my wife, and we’ve had a lot of fun. The levels are creative, the gameplay stays varied, and the boss fights are a real highlight. It’s also really nice that you only need one copy to play together. If you’re looking for a co-op game, this one’s an easy recommendation.

A fantastic and whacky game that actually requires coop play. Definitely recommend to play with a friend/significant other on the couch. Hilarious at times, cool at others. Might be slightly difficult for those who are less familiar with video games.

Split Fiction is easily one of my all-time favorite games on the PS5. It masterfully blends a compelling narrative with tight, engaging gameplay. What truly sets it apart is the seamless progression—the way the game evolves and transitions through its different modes keeps the experience incredibly fresh and exciting from start to finish. An absolute masterpiece that I cannot recommend enough.
