As a kid this was always my favorite movie, i decided to buy this copy because i had some money left on a gift card and thiught “why not” overall good purchase and i enjoyed rewatching it

The picture quality is a definite improvement from the standard bluray. There is a grain throughout the movie but it doesn't take away from detail such as clothing, hair, or skin detail. Audio is great in a few scenes but otherwise there's not much to it. The music and the sounds of nature is immersive. They surround you as if you were there. I have always been in love with this movie and would recommend it to anyone who is a fan.

Fans of this movie should be very happy with the treatment this movie was given. Beautifully transferred with only a couple quick scenes where the added resolution reveals the age of the film elements, but overall well worth the upgrade. Like some of us, who happen to live in the area where the film was shot, it's great to see our local landscape so beautifully displayed.

It's doubtful that anybody needs another glowing review of "Stand by Me". Like the "Shawshank Redemption", it's a near perfect adaptation of a Stephen King novella. In fact, both of the original stories can be found and enjoyed in his "Different Seasons" book. This review and rating is for the 25th Anniversary edition of the film.

Stand by me is one of those classic movie that will take you back to your childhood. When kids would hangout and play with their friends. The movie looks really good in 4k. The picture is so clear that it looks like it was made today instead of the 1980s. If you enjoy a film that has a adventure and friendship. You will love this movie.

This is one of those movies that you need to buy. I started off by buying the VHS when it first came out. Then on DVD, then on Blu-ray. Well, now it's in 4k and I just need to tell you that this movie looks beyond incredible in true 4k! If you have a 4k TV and a 4k player, definitely "Stand By Me" should be at the top of your list.

I am 14 years old, and I absolutely love this movie. But don't let my age fool you. I'm not just going to sit here and talk about how hott River Pheonix was. This movie is well rounded in my perspective. Everyone can relate to at least one of the boys in it at one time in their life. The actors are matched perfectly with who their character portrays.Corey Feldman's character Teddy is the boy who's sensitive about his dad, but tries to hide it, Jerry O' Connell's character Vern is the chubby, wussy kid, but still part of the club, Wil Wheaton's character Gordie is the sweet, intelligent friend who tells stories to the other boys and is ignored by his parents, and River Phoenix's character Chris is the boy in the neighborhood that's been labeled a bad kid and feels he'll never get out of their town, the peacemaker, and Gordie's best friend. This movie just sucks you in as soon as you start watching it. It's not overly mushy and sad, but it's not so tough that only a sixteen year old boy could stand it. You feel for each character, no matter how mean or nice they are. My personal favorite is Chris Chambers, which i know this will probably drive you guys nuts that almost every other person does too, but River Phoenix is just so touching. The campfire scene is great, the milk money seen is great, and one of my favorites is the train scene. You can definitely see the terror in their faces. It's funny that they all act so tough, except maybe Vern, although he tries, and they still like talking about goofy and dancing and singing along to Lollipop. You also just want to be there with them. Feel that kind of friendship that so many people long for. It's such a feel good movie, but not in the sense of a 10 year old's feel good movie. It makes you feel complete when you watch it. It's not jam packed with action sequences or it doesn't have fluffy pink bunnies hopping around in it either. It's just one of a kind. Definitely worth my time and yours. The newest DVD of Stand By Me (Special Edition) has Walking the Tracks: The Summer of Stand By Me where all the main actors,except River, and Rob Reiner are interviewed. They also talk about working with River Phoenix. There's also the Stand By Me music video with River Phoenix, Wil Wheaton, and obviously Ben E. King. Not to mention an extra CD with some awesome oldie's songs like Everyday, Lollipop, Stand By Me, and Mr. Lee.

This movie is one of my favorites - the story is excellent and the casting of the boys was done really well. The 4K presentation is very good with really beautiful color presentation for the Oregon landscapes. Audio Atmos is clear and sounds great but mostly dialogue driven - not really a surprise. The only criticism is that the Menu system and extras included with the disc are very minimal. If you're a fan of this movie I would recommend it highly.

This is my all time favorite movie from the 80’s. When I saw it was being released onto 4K I had to get it.. I haven’t watched it yet.. I’m sure the quality is great. I received it quickly. Packing was perfect. I never have a problem when purchasing through Best Buy.

This New Stand By Me 4k release would have to be one of my favorite 4K disc releases. They did a wonderful job with the transfer of this movie and it has great special features. I highly recommend adding this one to your home theater movie collection.

This 25th Anniversary Edition is great. I particularly enjoyed the extras on this Blu-ray edition, providing background to the film and novella it comes from ("The Body" by Stephen King) and nice remembrances of River Phoenix, one of the film's stars.

A classic movie from start to finish. Wish they had movies like this today.we are losing the idea of how good movies use to be. Wish they would start making movies today like they did back then less effects and more story and heart .

This movie is fantastic, if you haven’t seen it I definitely recommend watching it. The 4K version is pretty good, not quite as good as a brand new movie that was shot in 4K though. Sounds is pretty nice, black levels are good too

This movie is a Stephen King classic. A must have for any collector. We were so happy to see it coming out on 4k. It is a story of kids bonding and growing up. It talks about how great it was to be that age. MUST WATCH!

It stands, sweet and strong, ribald, outrageous and funny, like its heroes themselves -- a bit gamy around the edges, perhaps, but pure and fine clear through. It's one of those treasures absolutely not to be missed.

Stand By Me is a classic story by Stephen King, and it looks absolutely beautiful in 4K with HDR. I have watched it several times since I purchased it and was amazed how beautiful the picture and sound are.

Come on man, this movie taught kids how to grow up, how to make and keep friends, forget stranger things and It. Coming of age watch Stand by me. And remember “just you ace” the best movie line ever

I'm thrilled to see this film get a 4k restoration! The picture and audio quality are well worth your money. I would highly recommend this movie to any one who has love for nostalgia.

As expected, the 4K variant of this great classic film is worth the money, indeed. If you get a chance to add this to your 4K and Stephen King collections, by all means do it!
