Emotional and heartfelt. One of my favorite movies.

I really love the movie. I only wish there was a digital copy included. Strange how a 4K edition doesn’t have one. Still a good buy

I have just about every book Stephen King has written, all his movies, mini series and a ton of magazines featuring his essays, interviews, etc. Although he's best known for his horror and supernatural works, I think his redemption tales are beautiful. I first saw Stand By Me when I was just a kid, but it has remained one of my favorites over the years. King does a superb job of creating authentic characters who behave exactly as I would expect them to as the story progresses. Also interesting is seeing these young stars who went on to act in all sorts of great films and fun series. Well worth a look if you haven't seen it yet. And if you already have it on dvd, grab the bluray, it's worth the double dip. Enjoy!!

Although known for the likes of "Carrie," "Pet Semetary," and "IT," Stephen King has also created stories that don't fall under the traditional horror category such as "The Green Mile" and "The Shawshank Redemption." "Stand by Me" falls into the latter category. This tells the story of four friends on a search for a dead body and they end up finding something more along the way. With great direction by Rob Reiner and great performances by Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Jerry O'Connell, Corey Feldman and Keifer Sutherland, this is an enjoyable film that any Stephen King fan would enjoy.

A great movie about friendship and the simpler times of being an adolescent. High recommend!

Oh gosh, where to start? I don't remember how old I was when I first saw this but I remember it always stuck with me. The story of four 12 year olds looking for a corpse seems like such a simple premise but it turns out to be anything but! All of the young actors did a great job (even Corey Feldman) at making believable and intricate characters that I grew to love and enjoy throughout childhood and adulthood alike. As an adult I don't recommend it to children, my parents were just "cool" I guess. Speaking of overall quality of the transfer and true HD material, I honestly have no answer since I have not watched the disc or its features...yet. Sorry I couldn't be of better assistance there!

Watching this great movie from Stephen King in high definition is most enjoyable!

Amazing Movie. I loved this movie as a kid. Originally written by Stephen King and brought to the big screen by Rob Reiner, it’s an incredibly warm coming-of-age story about a boys journey with his friends to view a dead body. Sounds much more macabre than it is. It’s really kore about the relationships of the boys and how it changes them from boys into young men. The 4K HDR print is beautiful and to see it like this is incredible

Classic drama film on 4K. Love this film and looks great on 4K.

The film is a wonderful classic that is even more stunning on blu ray. It truly is one of the best Stephen King adaptations alongside Misery (another Rob Reiner film) and The Shawshank Redemption. The young actors are perfectly cast in their roles including the late River Phoenix. Richard Dreyfuss' narration is the real highlight of the film by giving it a voice, heart and soul by recollecting a childhood adventure his character experienced. The only downside of this classic is it's too short of a film at 88 minutes; it truly had the potential longevity to be at least another half hour.

After not seeing this film since it came out, I was astounded at how good it looked and sounded on the blu-ray disc. The sound makes great use of the rear speakers; the picture was clear as a bell; the story was as good as I'd remembered. Stephen King claims it's the best screen version of anything he ever wrote. Bel;ieve it! And you get to see these great actors as boys. Too sad to see Rver Phoenix though. Ironic that the original title was The Body. Poor River. Buy this flick: you won't be disappointed.

Some very well known actors who portrayed the boys in Stand By Me. I understand this story was based on a Novella written by Stephen King called The Body. If you are a King fan you will love it. If not, you will still enjoy the personalities of the young actors as they take a walk of a life time.

Capturing the nostalgia of adolescence, Stand By Me is based on a Novella by Stephen King that is entirely devoid of horror elements. It's presentation of this blu ray is immaculate, with vibrant colors that appear to have been unmanipulated and excellent clarity. It also marks some early big screen performances from the likes of Keifer Sutherland and River Phoenix. Excellent special features round out this complaint free release of a classic film.

Even decades after it's initial release, this classic coming of age friendship movie still delivers, this time beautifully enhanced in Blu-Ray. A nostalgic drama, depicting that awkward time between childhood and adolescence, a group of boys discover the meaning of friendship together. Brimming with adventure, it is a comedy, and a drama as well about the loss of innocence and the gaining of wisdom. It is a treasure not to be missed.

The film itself is the same as it’s always been and that’s awesome! The 4K and Audio however seem minimally improved. I wouldn’t say this release requires an upgrade if you own the standard blu-ray.
