Customers enjoy the graphics, gameplay, combat, and music in Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. However, some find the story and camera to be problematic, with a few also mentioning issues with voice acting and the need for excessive backtracking. The game's world is described by some as uninspired. While the price is considered reasonable by many, several aspects detract from the overall experience for some players.

The game plays like a classic JRPG should. The camera is a little too close, and battles can get hectic, but it's a fun experience.

A shell of a great rpg, held back by design choice

For fans of star ocean, you might find something to love. The voice acting is intensely cringey and the active cut scene camera makes immersing yourself an even more diffcult chore. Combat is interesting but nothing groundbreaking. The graphics are solid, but have a very stylized art that some may not appreciate.

A good game for those who enjoy old JRPG style.Lot of back tracking through out the game. But still very fun.

The battle system can be really fun at times, but the characters and world are just too bland.

Probably one of the weaker titles in the series, overall still a good game and if you're a fan of the Star Ocean series you will probably enjoy it.

Having played the previous games in the series I was looking forward to this game but I may have hyped myself too much. The story is pretty generic, though I personally like the characters. Wait a while to purchase this title unless you're really into the series, but even then wait anyways. Still enjoyed the game in the end though it was lacking in many aspects.

i have not finished game yet but so far it is a decent game. the graphics are amazing, as you would expect from Square Enix. the story so far is kind of slow and the battle system is decent for an action rpg. not much to it just normal or heavy strike, and a little dodging if you feel like it.

I dont need many words to sum this game up, its world is empty full of backtracking that gets annoying. The Story is bland and the characters are generic lifeless and boring. The combat can be fun its just a shame none of it fits togethere all that well this game defines Mediocre.

I was very weary of buying this game because of all the horrible reviews it received. I finally gave in because ot was on sale on PSN. I must say it made me want to play more and more as the story unfolded. I love it. It's charming and simple yet challenging. I say rent the game if you aren't sure but personally it is a very decent RPG.

To be honest this game is great and I shouldn't knock one star off but being a long time Star Ocean fan i had to say it seems to deviate a bit from what Star Ocean used to be but that doesn't take away that it is a Star Ocean game and a great game in general just minor things that I would of liked to have.

Fans of the series may feel a tad letdown as the scope of the game is smaller than in previous entries. Still the stuff that has made the series fun is still here: great battle system, item creation/synthesis, and customization w/skills. Rest assured this is still a solid entry in the series.

Even after reading some poor reviews, I decided to give this entry in the series a shot. For less than $20, it's worth it if you are a fan of Star Ocean. The characters and story are weak so far, but it generally looks very nice and delivers series nostalgia and an rpg fix!

Only played for a couple of hours so far but....WOW! Never really played Star Ocean except for some of the 4th title on PS3, but this, incredible! The game is fast paced and wont waste your time with 4 hour intro's. The game is beautiful and if you love progressive/rocking soundtracks...the music is out of the world! Highly recommended!!

Good role playing game with as much as 7 characters in your group! It's a fun game but too easy, I beat it in just a few days and perfected it in about a week. Its like the original Star Ocean but with a shorter story and easy to beat enemies.

This Star Ocean to me was very good. Having the ability to have more characters during combat was a big plus for me. The story is pretty decent. And if you're a JRPG fan than this one will be for you. Somewhat plays like the Tales of games too.

I really enjoyed this game as a whole. In comparison to other games in the series, the story goes a lot faster even though a play through will still take about 40 hours. I haven't played for a couple weeks now so I don't know if they patched the camera yet... It's the only major flaw in the game. The whole screen moves every time you walk over a pebble, or slight (and I mean very slight) increase or decrease in height. The rest of the battle mechanics and leveling system all works very well. I beat the game once already and it was a blast. If you like other Star Ocean games, I don't think you will be disappointed.

I enjoy the star ocean series and when I had the chance, I picked up the latest entry to the series. Once I installed the game and booted it up, I was 'surprised'. The entry before this one, Star Ocean The Last Hope, was a visual and welcomed changed to me but the latest entry went back to the 3d anime style that was found in, 'Star Ocean Til the end of time' left me feeling slightly soured. I was left wondering why Tri Ace changed art styles but I pushed it aside and continued with the game. Besides visual changes/regression, story progression is "interesting" to say the least. The game flows from chapter to chapter but there's no indication for chapter progression outside of save icon changes. I'm not very far into the game (about 5-10 hours in) but I feel like it would be something to get used to.

OKAY
The newest Star Ocean is a serviceable JPRG marred by uneven production values and poor A.I.
+Likable cast
+Decent combat
-Awful AI
-Uneven production
-Much backtracking
