The game starts out very slow. I'm about 10 hours in... and it is barely picking up. The one thing I hate the most are the "DEFEND" battles. Also - the fact that I'll probably have to play the game again on a higher difficulty just to get a trophy. SKIP because there are other games coming out soon. BUY if you need a short RPG to fill up the time between now and FFXV.

Another gem in the Star Ocean series! I highly recommend this one if you are a fan of the series.

I love this game! I even got the day one edition!! Only thing I don't like for one is sprinting, it's a joke every so often your main will trip. And you can't skip cut scenes their done in real time, so if you die you gotta go thru again. Though it's still a great game and lots of side quests!!!

This edition of Star Ocean is a fun game to play with good story line and good graphics.

I've been a big fan of the Star Ocean series since 2, and even bought the PSP versions of 1 and 2. I even really enjoyed 4 more than most people out there. That said, this 5th entry is lacking in so many departments, that I have to say I was really disappointed. The characters have no depth and go through no real growth, the in engine cutscenes don't really add any drama and sometimes characters even talk over each other making it hard to hear what everyone is saying. The seamless battle transitions are great, but they're brought down by a lack of depth in the combat system compared to previous entries, and having as many characters as you can on the battlefield mixed in with all the enemies can make things hard to see as it's a lot of clutter. The only real redeeming factor this game has going for it, is that Welch (any fans of the series know) is back again with more wacky wiggly invention nonsense.
