A lot of people are hating on this new Trek series. They're saying that it's not canon. Let's face it, even the Original Series is dated in its props and special effects. In every Trek series, it takes at least one full season to begin to develop the characters. I say, give it a chance. I love it. I've watched it 3 times now and every time I find something that I missed the last time. It's smart. It's entertaining. It's great sci-fi.

I was a little apprehensive about the new Star Trek show based upon all of the negative reviews, but after a few episodes, I found it worth watching and actually looking forward to next season. I will admit that it is very different from what has come before, but still worth watching. As far as the blu-ray is concerned, the picture is almost flawless and boasts a terrific audio as well. The supplements are decent enough, but nothing in depth.

Bought because I heard such good reviews from friends and boy it didn't disappoint. Never a real Star Trek fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the plot in this TV series. The twists in the plot and the story line carried out throughout the entire show is excellent. Very impressed with the quality of the graphics and can tell it was a high cost in production.

Loved it! The actual product - steel case and contents - are great! The story, video quality and level of engagement is excellent. Audio seems a bit low quality in the first few episodes. Special effects are amazing. The story line is a bit dark, but written well. It was a great weekend binge watch. Now I can't decide if I want to sign up for CBS's service or wait another year for season two's release.

I think that "Star Trek: Discovery" is one of the greatest new series of all-time and it's also one of my favorite new series of all-time. I was really excited to see this series and I immediately enjoyed it and I also think that "Star Trek: Discovery" has a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, mystery and suspense including exciting and original storylines.

The new Star Trek is action packed with a number of great effects. The steelbook package is made with extra care. The sleeve in the center locks in place to made sure it does not swing and maybe break off, blu- ray contain over 2 hours of extra features. The steelbook pkg is colorful with embossed title. An all around winner

I've been a huge fan of Star Trek for decades. The thought of a new series, with modern day technologies, was intriguing to say the least. I didn't want to subscribe to the service (subscribe to enough stuff now) so when this came to Blu-Ray I was quite excited! Over all though, not as awesome as the previous series though. Not even close really. It's - okay. Looks - magnificent though! Visually a huge treat!

Finally able to watch season one with no interruptions and I really enjoy the cast and crew of Star Trek Discovery. Easy to follow and stellar special effects compared to previous Star Trek TV series. I can't wait to watch season two. Definitely happy to own season one.

I've been a Star Trek Fan for decades so when the new Star Trek Discovery Season became available for purchase I made it a mission of my own to pick one up for my collection. This new series doesn't disappoint I only wish they made it available on regular HDTV.....

This Blu-ray Steelbook edition of Star Trek: Discovery Season 1, is a great edition to my collection of other Star Trek movies and TV shows that I have on Blu-ray and DVD. The artwork and case make for a display, as well as protection of the dics.

As a long term fan of Star Trek from the very beginning, I was skeptical of this newest take on the Star Trek universe, but I've been pleasantly surprised. Enjoying the DVDs without commercials or having to wait for the newest episode each week.

this star trek show ,much better then ENTERPRISE, to bad it is on CBS ALL ACCESS this show would be wise to air it on broadcast tv and not rip-off the fans.But it's money money money !!!

This was a pleasant surprise it Had a great storyline interesting characters very good acting in keeping with all of the Star Trek TV series and movies. The color and graphics were good I can’t wait for season two to come out on DVD

I personally really enjoyed Discovery Season 1, hopefully like so many others it’ll just see improvement as it goes on. Picture quality in the Blu-Ray set is excellent, as are the extra features.

I didn't get to see this series when it first aired, but now I get to see it in Blu-Ray after hearing great things about this new show AND EVER BETER - it comes in a BestBuy Exclusive SteelBook!

This is a great series. I only wish that it was on regular TV. If you are a Star Trek fan, then you need to get this today. The special effects and acting are movie quality on a TV series.

1st off, I see why this was on CBS access, the production cost would not allow this to be on over the air TV. 2ndly, very well done, if you are a trekker at all you will enjoy this. Klingons are a little aggravating but hey, they are klingons...(heh)

I love this entire season and I had to have it when it came on Blu-ray and decided to get the steelbook edition which is beautiful. Highly recommend the series and it looks Amazing!!!

The Steelbook itself is glossy and beautiful with debossing. The series is gorgeous looking and action-packed. I’ve seen a few episodes and look forward to continuing this journey.
