Action and story are both great! Even though this movie came out like two years ago, it's still a favorite. Wanted for my collection!

I will recommend this movie to family and friends.

-SPOILER ALERT!-Proceed at your own risk. In many ways Into Darkness is an alternate reality version of Star Trek II Wrath of Khan. I own both films and although I prefer Wrath of Khan (which I highly recommend) Into Darkness still belongs in every Star Trek library (along with J.J. Abrams Star Trek 2009). Speaking of which, I highly recommend watching both Star Trek II Wrath of Khan and Star Trek 2009 first to fully appreciate the character and plot development of Into Darkness. For the dedicated Star Trek fan, Into Darkness may appear to have too much predictability in its plot development having seen many such elements and devices in previous Star Trek films/episodes. On the other hand, it is still J.J. Abrams and Star Trek and that means ENTERTAINMENT!

The DVD itself: Standard jewel case, wide screen format, options like subtitles are great for when I want to watch it while the girlfriend is sleeping. The Film: AWESOME... start to finish action and non stop entertainment. With all the character development out of the way from the first film, this one was able to focus on what the fans want from a good Star Trek film - One hundred and thirty one minutes of AWESOME! The introduction of Khan (Benedict Cumberbatch) is incredibly well done and leaves you wanting even more KHAAAAN!!!!!

I always have a problem with alternate universe stories. They have to be very well done for me to find them anything but irritating. This one, while not perfect, managed. With the personalities of some of the main characters, Kirk in particular, seriously altered from the original Star Trek, I did have some problems with this movie. Why not just change the names and title and admit it had nothing to do with the original TV series? On the plus side, decent writing and good acting helped to gloss over the problems. Even with my bias against alternate reality stories, I enjoyed this movie.

I never really got into the Star Trek series, was always a Star Wars junky. However upon watching the first installment of this adaptation, I was hooked into the Trek world. This sequel is what sequels are made to be, just as exciting, superb follow up acting, and fantastic visuals all throughout the entire film. I bought it on DVD before I had even seen the movie, and I was not disappointed at all.

As a long-time Trekkie, I was apprehensive about the new films. I really enjoyed the first, and I love this sequel even more. It had many nods back to the storyline of Wrath of Khan and it was done tastefully. I think it's a great way to introduce a younger generation into the Star Trek universe and the new films will help open the door to everything else that came before them.

I have been excited about this release for sometime. I have hearing loss so without subtitles I lose the ability to understand the dialogue. This is why I no longer go to the theaters to see these movies. Received this for Christmas and what a great gift. For a Star Trek fan the story line was very interesting. I recommend you watch this and purchase the DVD so you can watch it over and over.

I am a Star Trek fan. This is a very good second film to the new franchise. It combines a couple of different storylines in one movie. The change if time, as shown in the first movie, makes this a much more interesting scenario. The actors who portray the iconic characters are excellent and very compatible. Special effects were good.

New mythos that satisfies everyone. I am always happy to see more Star Trek, but when the Borg invaded the big screen I had lots of questions to answer for the viewers around me. No such issues with the new films. Some viewers decided to watch all early Trek for curiosity's sake, but not from confusion.

I will always like the original Star Trek, but I love the movies with the new cast. They are not boring at all, unlike some of the past movies. Little surprised with their casting choice for the young Khan, but this guy does a pretty good job. No one will ever do it better than Ricardo Montalban, but no complaints here.

Having been around for the classic television series through the William Shatner & Leonard Nimoy movies...the new cast and storylines for the current Star Trek franchise will keep it going for years. Well-directed with fine young actors and great new computerized graphics, this is a must-see for any sci-fi fan.

Even if you are not a star Trek Fan or did not see the 1st movie that is okay. This movie is fun, has action and heart. I enjoyed the cast in this tale of star trek. I do pop this disc in whenever I can when I'm not sure what to watch. Good sci-fi action story ...It's just a fun time

This is the second Star Trek movie with the new cast. It was a very exciting and fast passed movie. Not as good as the first one but still very good. Can't wait to see the third movie with this cast. The casting for these movies was excellent, these Actors truly look like the original cast of the TV show from the 60's..

I have been a fan of just about all of the incarnations of Star Trek. Although there are some differences in the back stories of some of the characters from the original, the cast has done an excellent job of recreating the crew of the Enterprise and members of Star Trek Command in this movie.

I liked this movie (I like the "re-boot" of the "Star Trek" movies), but I don't understand the hype surrounding this J. J. Abrams director guy... all he does is re-make movies with the same exact storylines, and he's considered great! I got this DVD for a couple of bucks, so the price was right!

I laughed out loud at some of the lines used by the cast members. (Good script). Cameo shots of original cast added depth to the movie. I appreciated the attention given to detail . I found this movie very entertaining. You don't have to be a "Trek-e" to enjoy.

This movie is awesome. The storyline is incredible. The action is incredible the characters also match the original series in ways that are just unimaginable whoever cast this the personnel this movie did an excellent job this is by far a keeper

I love this movie, thanks to Star Trek and it's originality, movies can be made like this one, with action and super fx! I think Dr. Spock in this movie looks exactly like the original Dr. Spock! Super great! Makes you feel like you are watching the original Star Trek!

I enjoyed this movie but not as much as the first new Star Trek. THe acting was great and Bendict Cumberbatch as Kahn was very good. The action sequences were very good and the nods to the older Star Trek movies were very nice. Overall a good movie.
