TEHY ARE ALL TRUE HIGH DEF PEOPLE!!!

It's cracking me up how people are simply unable to understand the differance between remastered and restored. First and formost, all 6 films in this set are true 1080p high def transfers. This is a fact. Now here is what is confusing so many. Only part 2 went through a full restoration. This has NOTHING to do with high def. It means that the original camera negative needed restoration work, such as cleaning the print, removing damage and scratches, and so on. This is simalar to the restoration work that is done on older films, such as Wizard Of Oz. Apparently, Paramount felt that the other 5 films didn't need any work. So will this restoration benefit Kahn in the High Def department? Sure. But the fact of the matter is, the other 5 films have been given full high def remaster treatment, just no film restoration. Hope this helps.

So i bought this set today. Anyone who has been on the net has seen this set is split 50/50 on weather these are actual HIGHdeff or just digital dvd transfurs. I emailed paramount directly to try an dfind some answers on this. So i wont be opening this till i find out for myself.
So if your considering buying this set, i would wait a couple weeks and read online at different sites to see what happens with this set and to see if its true 1080p or just 480p transfurs.
The box its self says this is a digital transfur except movie 2 which has been remastered in highdefination. As soon aas i get an answer from paramount ill post online or if i find any news as to quality of picture.
The packaging however is nice. Lets hope thats not the only thing.

Finally all 6 Star Trek TOS movies on blu ray and bundled together.
Great set both PQ and AQ are the best you can get from older remasters.
Granted they did not use the directors cut but if you can over look that then this is a great buy.

I bought this as a Father's Day Gift and it was hard trying to get this collection because their are a lot of Star Trek fans. I don't like Star Trek but my dad was happy to have this and that is good enough for me.

Star Trek is a science fiction landmark. Anyone who doesn't own these films needs to. They're great (well, maybe not The Final Frontier, but whatever.)
Video is awful, with the exception of the Wrath of Khan. WoK received a 4K remaster, unlike the other five. They suffer from horrendous amounts of DNR and edge enhancement, mostly due to being an older master. Bad move, Paramount. Audio is pretty great, but 7.1 is a bit of an overkill.
These discs are jam-packed with extras. No disappointment there.
Overall, these are recommended, even with the bad video.

Don't buy this item, wait until Paramount re-masters all the films in true 1080p.
