The digitized "re-mastered" version adds enhanced detail, color and sound, adds to the experience. The commentaries add a level of understanding to the series' evolution. Being able to watch the show in the order produced allows you to watch and enjoy the character development and interaction.

Star Trek aside (always an enjoyable show), the packaging is tight - no frills. Preferable to some others. I had a few minor issues w/ the clips holding the Blu-Ray discs - a little difficult to get the discs on and off. No major problems. No clips were broken, and all discs are in perfect working order.

On Blu-Ray, I am amazed that Star Trek from 50 years ago comes across so clear and vivid. I am old enough to remember the original broadcasts of these episodes, and they were not nearly as good with 1966 technology. These discs must have been mastered from the filmed originals, not a video tape. Great job!

I was watching the original Start Trek series on TV, but decided to buy this Blu-ray version instead. The Blu-ray is closest to when the original series was on TV. In other words, the content remains the same, no updating. The quality is excellent, so you get the best of both worlds.

It's great to finally have the blu-ray set of Star Trek Original Series! It's cool to be able to watch either the episodes as they were first broadcast or the newly enhanced versions. I couldn't give the set a 5 star rating because of a couple issues I found annoying. First, while watching an episode an icon will flash onscreen where you can switch between original & enhanced graphics. Second is that you may need to experiment with the audio settings to hear the dialog properly without cranking up the volume. Star Terk fans will enjoy this set, I'm sure. I know I do.

I've been a huge Star Trek fan for years, so when they remastered it on blu-ray, I knew I had to have it. Curiously, the blu-ray series-set case is the same size as the DVD case so it doesn't fit with my other blu-rays. It's still nice having the series all in one case.

if you watched this classic and memories since child hood wanna so bad collection dont think just get it if you're true fan o am so glad i bought it wanted this classic for so long and finally bought it if you're true syfy fan collector i know i am and i dont regret it

This blu-ray has fantastic audio quality and an outstanding visual presentation - and a trove of bonus material that makes this collection of the entire Star Trek series a must own if you are a fan of this ground breaking science fiction classic. GET IT NOW!!!

I love that it has both the enhanced video and surround audio as well as the original effects and monorail sound. The menu is a little odd at fist but it's still simple to switch between the effects and episodes keeping them in the order of original air date.

This set of restored classic Star Trek Original Series episodes is one amazing set. The restored and added effects look great. Packaging for this set is a little weak as others have stated in other reviews. Overall a great set at the price.

An improvement I am sure, some episodes look nicer than others and seemed more 'cleaned' up, but I am sure, without a doubt you cannot find this series looking any better. The improved 'enterprise space' shots are very nice. Recommended to any trek fan.

This is it folks all three seasons of trek on blu ray with both the enhanced and original f/x along with all the special features of the individual releases. If you are a TOS fan and do not have them on blu ray run don't walk and get this set

The entire series on a relatively compact blue-ray box set. I was disappointed to discover that the blue-ray box is the same size as the DVD box of the same product, I expected it to be smaller. Worth the purchase if you don't already own the series.

It is so nice to have all of the episodes on Blue Ray and in one area. Of course the quality is excellent for the show being made so long ago. I have seen all of the shows many times over the years. now I can watch them without commercials!

The original series is the best. The menu is a bit clunky and the remaster could have been better. Also the packaging is not the best. Otherwise, I feel that for the price I got the best series, in blu-ray, and I remain very happy with the purchase.

My mother is a huge Star Trek fan and I always buy her something to her fandom for Christmas, so I was able to get this Blu-ray disc set for her, which was very happy with and allows for me to watch with her to spend time together as two geeks.

Excellent release of the original Star Trek series on BluRay. It is nice having the options of switching between the original release version special effects vs. the new computer enhanced special effects. Excellent video quality.

This has been digitally updated and enhanced for Blu-Ray disc. The digitizing really adds a lot of detail to this tried and true Original TV series.

Of course it gets five stars, it's classic Star Trek. The fact that it includes the updated effects as well as the original is great because while the new effects are interesting watching it with the original effects in place is the way to go.

I grew up watching classic Star Trek. My parents were Trekkers. Obviously I am a legacy fan. The updated effects are subtle. So some may prefer unaltered effects. The effects make it fun to pick them out. Obviously love it!
