I had high expectations about this game based on the trailers and my experience playing previous editions of Star Wars Battlefront on the original XBox. I couldn't help but be a little disappointed that this one was so much different from the previous games, Star Wars Battlefront II especially. The graphics look great, but from a gameplay standpoint, this doesn't measure up. There are too few maps in the game as purchased and they are not as interesting as the maps in the previous games. I also miss the galactic conquest, campaign, and instant action modes that could be played single player. Fighter Squadron is by far my favorite mode on the new game, but I still miss the space battles from SWBFII.

This game's graphics, music, gameplay, and game mode selection are on point. The only problem I had with it is that there's no campaign. The whole idea of Star Wars is the story, right? Well there's no story, but the online play is addicting and fun. I recommend the deluxe to anyone because you get a gun that's very powerful and unlocked at a high level, right off the bat. You also get early access to the first DLC that comes out, which is nice. The stormtrooper face on the case is also eye catching, so go get this game!

I have been waiting for a third installment of Star Wars Battlefront since playing the two original games on PlayStation 2 ten years ago and this game did not disappoint. I have played nearly all of the different game modes and one or two missions and there is plenty of variety in this game. Most of all I enjoy the supremacy mode which is very close to the how the original played. However, despite a wide variety of enjoyable game modes, this game suffered greatly from a lack of maps. Unfortunately, this issue will be solved only if you choose to purchase the $50 season pass which promises four additional map packs. Though the developers promised additional free content, the game is enjoyable enough that once you have decided to purchase it, you will probably spend the extra money. Had I known this before reserving the game it wouldn't have changed anything for me personally, but I know many gamers were outraged over this. The game is excellent and worth of a 5 out of 5 based on gameplay, but this extra cost of $50 for the season pass detracts from the games overall value as a purchase and could very well be the difference for many who are on the fence deciding whether or not to purchase this game.

Great Game during the Beta

Being able to use Luke Skywalker in Rebellion's Side or using Darth Vader in the Galactic Empire during special pick ups and summoning time is nearly instant. Different game play styles meets the requirements of any gamer out there. You earn republic credits through earning a certain amount of points obtained throughout the game. The setup for your class and kit is nearly instant and fast-pace. Having to do Co-Op on Survival Mode with 8 players or PVP with 20 player Rebel Alliance vs Galactic Empire. There's a co-op story mission, too! Queuing with other player is very simple. I played the beta on xbone and enjoyed it very much. You can very much quick scope with :
Republic: DC-15x Sniper Rifle
Empire: E-11s Sniper Rifle
Separatist: E-5s Sniper Rifle
Rebel: E-17d Sniper Rifle
Pros: There are versatile aspect to the concept, bullet drop doesn't occur yet not until after the 1st official update. Being able to summon vehicle when met the requirements. Some day they will allow to rent your own server.
Cons: disconnect because of many players trying to join all at once.

Do not get me wrong, as a Star Wars fan, I really do enjoy the game. Battlefront is amazing and I would definitely recommend it/buy it again! There are just a few times where I find myself longing for certain things that were in the other two battlefronts. Overall, the game is great though and some of the new modes available are fun and great entertainment!

I'm having fun with this game. Yes as you may already know, content is limited. Few maps, no single player campaign, few character unlocks... EA/Dice messed up. However gameplay is very addiciting and I have logged in over 40 hours so far... I defintely got my money's worth. I'm still debating on the DLC though.

The game looks amazing and plays great too. Alot of people are complaining that there is no prequel levels or anything but honestly, those movies sucked so I don't mind. If they want to add it later they could. Also no space battles doesn't ruin the game. You have ground battle with the tie fighter and xwing combat over head makes it just as fun

Like many who enjoy the game, I do have a blast with multiplayer. It's so much more dynamic that most games deliver, and the hectic pace and rich environment do help sell the immersion in the Star Wars universe. However, where the game stumbles is the threadbare options for single-player activities. The previous Battlefront games never had deep campaigns, true, but at least they provided one. Here, that content has been excised in the pursuit of 'accessibility for a younger audience,' to paraphrase the developer.
Overall, the title is fun, but it also would have been nice if the game would randomize specific power-ups more often, as many people have already memorized locations and will often bee-line for them rather than assisting their teams. additionally, I did have to deduct points for only including low-orbit spaceship battles. One of my favorite modes from Battlefront 2 involved weakening a ship, in space, and then storming it to destroy it from within with the help of a coordinated squad. That omission is definitely not appreciated.

As a big fan of the original games (both Battlefront and Battlefront 2 for the original Xbox), I will admit I had very high expectations for this game. The multiplayer is very fun and addictive. I love that there are so many game types to choose from which keeps things interesting. What's missing here is a campaign or story mode. That would have been incredible! My biggest complaint is that they did not include any of the droids like the originals and have a very, very limited selection of playable heroes. As I have read and I'm sure we'll find out soon, they are planning on releasing more playable heroes along with new maps, gametypes, etc. as downloadable content. Pretty annoying that I will likely have to buy this game twice over just to receive an acceptable amount of content. But hey, that's EA Games for you.

The gameplay in Star Wars Battlefront is one of the high points of this game. The variety of game types, and the customizablity of guns and hands (load outs) that you can equip make for good individuality in the game. The downside of this game is that the single player is somewhat lacking and there is no campaign. If one of the DLC packs included a single player campaign similar to past Battlefront games, or a short campaign similar to Halo or Call of Duty that would give this game 5 stars.

I am a huge Star Wars fan and have been for many years. I played KOTOR 1 and 2, Republic Commando, Battlefront 2, and many others in the Star Wars franchise over the years. After playing this new Battlefront I am disappointed that I purchased on release day and did not wait to see what exactly the game contained. I will say the game does have some of the most stunning visuals I have seen on next gen consoles, but my being impressed stops there and visuals can't make up for what's lacking in the game. There are plenty of game modes but several struggle to differentiate themselves and often times when I log in the community is focused on maybe one or two modes instead of a healthy player base in most of the modes. There is a lack of meaningful content and customization which I believe has led to a dwindling community. Also a 50 dollar season pass on top of a 60 dollar game is a little bit excessive. I understand developers need money in return for their efforts but this game seems half finished and a testing of the waters instead of an actual complete entry into the Star Wars games universe.

I don't think any game has captured the spirit and magic of the movies directly to console/computer. SWBF literally feels like being in the movie. You hear the same classic sounds, blaster rifle fire, explosions and noises that made the original movies awesome. YES - there's much to desire on single player for those who care, but seriously.... You're buying this game to play with friends and the online community. It's designed to be a straight fun shooter and get you feeling the magic of Star Wars. It delivers on that ten fold.

It's been 10 years since the last Battlefront game and the wait is (almost) worth it. The graphics and sound are top-notch as you would expect, as is the gameplay. One glaring omission, however, is the lack of Galactic Conquest previously seen on Battlefront I and II. It appears that the developers decided to make online multiplayer the central focus instead of including a robust campaign mode. Overall, it's a great game but the potential for more is there.

I love Star Wars so of course I had to buy this. I enjoyed it, but since I am not a fan of first person shooters I will probably not play it very much. If you are into those games, you will probably love it.
Without a campaign to play solo it really left me disappointed. Doing the tutorials and mini-games was OK, and the multi-player games are simple but not exciting. Without the Star Wars awesomeness this game would probably be 2 stars.

It's good, not great, but good. I do miss some of the old game types, like dog fights where I can land on an enemy ship and break things from the inside, but there are more game modes. Its fun to play as both rebels and the empire. There is no disadvantage or advantage of being one over the other, so no worries about not being able to use your favorite weapon. It's also fun to play as the hero's and villain's. There are some things that could be improved, like the fact that you have to jump over everything on the Endor map and that the flight controls are a little odd when in a tie or xwing or etc... Some maps have less pick ups then others, it seems. And of course there are the respawns in front of gun fire and the enemies always seems to blend in the background. The radar seems useless. I miss the times when you actually got a manual with the game, but maybe that's just me. On the plus side, there are a good number of guns to choose from and some weapons that need to recharge. There are also limit use perks, which you need to pick up markers for to use, I just wish they pooled the makers together instead of only being applied to the equipped one. In other words, if you have ion blast equipped and you pick up a marker, it will add a use to ion blast, but if you switch to another it will not transfer over. You have to have it equipped for any more uses to be added. If you don't feel like playing online or only with a friend, they do have missions which can be fun. I, however, wish I could play with more than 1 other person.
Over all, a good game that I hope they add to and improve upon.

Love the Star Wars universe and this game definitely captures the battles that make Star Wars so great. The graphics are awesome. BUT.. The guns feel pretty similar and there's not much content... even with the promise of DLC in the future, why not just make it part of the game? Especially for a full priced game... overall, great fun, but not much to keep me playing repeatedly.

This game is great for any star wars fan. Even if you are a gamer this is a fun MP game to play. Weather you like fighting with blasters, or in an x-wing, it has it all. The only reason for the 4 star is sometimes it gives the horrible call of duty feeling that when you spawn you are being killed before you can take contrl of you character. Either way this is a BUY game.

First off the campaign is a joke. The multiplayer is great but bugs in actions, getting hung up on crates, and an issue with the star cards is reported ONLY in Heroes v.s. Villains. It is incredibly fun and the multiplayer is quite balanced. I can't wait to see new content released!

If you are an avid Star Wars fan then this game is nostalgia in a box. The graphics are amazing and the sound quality and effects are out-of-this-world. The gameplay is rather simplistic for a modern day first person shooter but it has that one quality that really matters in a video game......it is fun to play.
