It's a lot of fun. It is difficult and also a learning experience. The Orange Lightsaber made the Pre-Order worth it.

This game has what you want: lightsabers, the force, and an upgrade system that is not complicated by micro-transactions. Although the story is great I have two problems: it’s glitchy and a bit repetitive. I’ve made multiple moments in the game (I’m only halfway through) where character animation has to catch up and where it freezes for a few seconds. As you move through the story, you have to revisit planets to fully discover the entire planet and the maps are multileveled and complicated. Great story but it’s trying to squeeze too much into a small package.

I just recently bought this game and it's worth every penny (it was on special). It's fun, a bit hard in the beginning to get use to. A nice game to have if you are a star wars fan.

I was worried that I wasn’t going to like it because I normally don’t play these types of games I mostly stick to skateboarding, fighting & racing games but I’m enjoying this game & I’m glad I bought it when I did.

I was pleasently surprised by this game. I had very low expecations for it. I had been watching some of the game show demos of it and was not impressed. It looked slow and un-interesting. Fast forward many months to the game releasing. I started to read the reviews that were coming in about the game. They were mostly very positive. It convinced me enough to go and get the game and I am happy I did. The game scratches a lot of my itches. I've been telling folks who ask, that it feels like a mash-up of the exploration and story of Uncharted; the customization and world completion of Ratchet and Clank, with the fighting of a faster paced Dark Souls. The game rewards curiousity in it's world. Typically, if you think you might be able to get over to a location, you probably can and there will probably be a nice reward there waiting for you. It invites creative thinking and exploration. It's not an open world, but it offers many paths to explore and areas to unlock as you progress in the game and learn how to do things. The story is well written and the characters are enjoyable to watch. I feel like it is a Star Wars story worth experiencing. The fighting and gameplay feels really nice. The game rewards tactical decisions and punishes you for being too lazy (but not harshly). The way you battle feels natrual enough and your character abilities feel significant. The customization of the game is fantastic. You can not customize your character's model (i.e. the way your face looks), but you can customize just about everything else. You can customize your lightsaber; everything from the color of the hilt, the color of the saber, the material the hilt is made out of, the type of hilt you are using, to whether to use various blade styles (i.e. double bladed vs single bladed, etc). You can customize the clothes you wear, the way your droid looks, the way your ship looks. You can even start a garden in your ship. If any of that sounds interesting to you, this game is for you.

    A flawed masterpiece

Jedi Fallen Order is a surprising offering from EA, who normally deliver on big blockbusters with heavy online competitive gameplay and busting at the sides with microtransations. Instead, the game is entirely single-player, and not a single monetized feature to be found in-game. Taking cues from the likes of From's Dark Soul series, the player must fight waves of hard-hitting enemies with precisely-timed parries and attacks, gaining experience with which to then spend on skills and new abilities at the game's bonfire-like meditation circles. However, where a Souls game maintains a consistent difficulty that is made easier or harder based on the player's stat allocation, Fall Order grants its player the mercy of multiple difficulties, including a "Story mode" one for those who want to enjoy the plot above all else. Despite it's similarities to the Souls series, the AI of many enemies can range from fast and aggressive, to confusingly stupid, as glitches can see enemies either caught on level geometry or simply unwilling to engage the player. Speaking of glitches, texture pop-in and crashes are present in the current build, but thankfully nothing that will threaten the player's precious save data or render their game unable to be completed. Additionally, the Metroid Prime style of level layout may be hit or miss for players expecting a more fleshed out open world. Instead, players shall visit a number of locations (some of which are well-known to fans of the Star Wars series), each with their share of secrets to hide and uncover with Cal's ever growing set of skills. Be warned though, many of the unlockables are cosmetic skins, so don't go in expecting to find special weapons or armors. Even with the negatives mentioned, Jedi Fallen Order still delivers a fun Star Wars experience that is sure to satisfy the appetite of fans who have been wishing for a single-player experience since the days of the old movie tie-in games and the likes of Force Unleashed.

It has been a long time but we finally have an amazing single player Star Wars game with no shoddy grinding and microtransactions. The story, gameplay, graphics, and sound design are all top notch. If you enjoyed playing games like Tomb Raider and Uncharted then you should love this game as it plays similar but with a Star Wars spin on it. I dont want to mention anything about the story because its the type of game that you want to play through and experience with no spoilers. This is a must have if you are a fan of Star Wars and action/adventure games

First *NEW* EA game I've Bought since 2014

I've purposefully stayed away from EA. Their business practices don't align with my spending wants or needs. I feel like they don't care about the consumer, but instead they care about money. Before I get a lot of comments, yes I know companies are in business to make money. EA doesn't seem to care about developing or publishing a product with the consumer in mind, and that is my complaint. With that said, I bought Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order a couple days after launch. I still wanted the Day One crowd to be the beta testers. But to my dismay, the beta testers enjoyed the game, so I figured it was safe to buy it. All-in-all, I really enjoy this game, but I don't know if I love it. Fallen Jedi definitely falls under my best games of 2019 list, but it's not number 1, or even top 5. I'm glad I bought it and played it. Spoilers? Story: You play as a Jedi in hiding on an Empire controlled salvage planet as a slave to the Empire. The story takes place shortly after Revenge of the Sith but before A New Hope. You are recruited by the rebels, but you weren't finished with your training by the time you came to the salvage planet. Most of the gameplay is going through dungeons and caves and learning how to use your force abilities. Story: 10/10 Sound: Great sound design and music, it really helps build the atmosphere and makes you believe you are apart of the world it is trying to create. Sound: 10/10 Visuals: WARNING! THE PS4 PORT IS BUGGY AND SOMETIMES FEELS INCOMPLETE! I wasn't aware of this when I bought the PS4 version. I haven't encountered any truly game breaking bugs, but there are annoying enemy pop in, along with lighting and shading issues. Some of the interactable items are lit wrong. I know it's a game design mechanic to show the player that the item is interactable, but it can be distracting. There are issues with ugly textures, but mostly just the textures glitching out. To say something positive about the visual, I like the settings. I like the natural fauna. The 3D models look good, I like the variety of alien species that you come across. Visuals: 8/10 (this score is only for the PS4 version. I have not played the other two) Gameplay: Fallen Order is a Metroidvania Star Wars game. Backtracking is the name of the game, which can be tedious but sometimes rewarding. One obstacle might have been very frustrating the first time you attempted it, but the whole point of the game is to learn and get better. Once you complete one task you will get a new force power that might make the previous obstacles a bit easier the second or third time around. Fallen Order also has multiple difficulty levels. Story Mode (Easy) which is for people who don't want to be challenged at all and just want to experience the story. Jedi Knight (Normal) which increases the challenge, but the focus is still experiencing the story. Jedi Master (Default/Recommended), which is how the game was designed to be played and the gameplay is evenly balanced. This difficulty is pretty hard if you aren't a From Software veteran. Jedi Grandmaster (Hard) is for masochists who enjoy dying. Enemy damage is increased to the max and your parry timing is almost non-existent. I started the game on Jedi Master, but decided to bump it down to Jedi Knight due to the relentless amount of enemies. Gameplay: 9/10 Controls: There is a lot to remember. I don't think Respawn left a single button on the PS4 controller unused. This increases the learning curve, but it's not unbearable. I feel if you were to put this game down for a week and tried going back to it you would have some moments of pure frustration because you needed to relearn the controls. Other than that, enemy lock-on isn't the best but it's not the worst. You have to pay attention to all of your surroundings if you plan on surviving a battle of 2 or more enemies. Controls: 8/10

The gameplay is very good, and of course, the graphics are as well. Save points make it easy to pick up and get into rather than playing a super long stretch with no ability to stop. The game can be as easy or as hard as you want with difficulty levels that can be changed during the game. The controls are very responsive. So far, I like the story line as well. Overall, a great game.

A must own for any Star Wars fans. A story of its own that falls within the Star Wars Universe and ties in well. Beautiful graphics, non-stop action, and a journey through a mass universe gives the player a feel for the series. AI and combat are very much improved upon, and the game makes it a little challenging at the beginning, but the end result will want you coming back for more.

I've been a Star Wars fan for a long time, but I'm a fairly new new gen gamer. My first console was Atari 2600 and my last before my recent PS4 Pro purchase was a Sega Genesis. Needless to say a lot has changed in gaming since the '90s, and Jedi Fallen Order reflects the best of those changes. Good graphics, great story, excellent gaming mechanics and gameplay. What seals the deal for me is how well Jedi Fallen Order balances fun gameplay with authentic Star Wars mythology, providing what feels like a fresh, new Star Wars story that you get to participate in. After a lot of disappointing Star Wars content over the years, it's nice to play a game that takes you on an adventure and reminds you why you fell in love with this universe in the first place.

I was a big fan of The Force Unleashed series of games and was hoping for something similar to Fallen Order, and it blew my expectations away. The storyline and characters felt like they fit very well in the Star Wars universe, the action and combat were great, and with a few minor exceptions (looking at you, ice slides) the platforming/exploration is superb. It may be worth noting that the difficulty settings in this game are more about how much of an unstoppable Jedi you want to feel like than it is about how hard the game is to play. On the easiest mode, it's still going to be difficult for inexperienced gamers, as just getting around in the game requires a good level of skill. There are areas where you'll need to perform a complex and difficult series of slides, jumps, force grabs, and wall runs and you'll need to do them in rapid succession. If you're an unskilled player just looking to play through the story as you can in many other games (or if you're looking at this game for a young child), you may find yourself frustrated by the platforming skill the game requires.

Its a good game. Storys pertty good. Have had stories that were alot better made me care about the characters more. But still decent story. Combat is fun ur gonna have to block and parry alot. My only complaint would be the map. I found it confusing for a long time. Once u figure it out tho it becomes alot easier. Has puzzles that reminded me of uncharted series .

I am rarely down for a Souls-type game. I don't have the hours I used to, so planning on "git-gud" levels of engagement just isn't feasible. I need a game I can pick up and run with. That's why I was hesitant to jump into Fallen Order. Thankfully, this is a more balanced experience than some of From Softwares offerings. You never feel cheated by the AI. Each death is due to your own mistakes, not a grievous enemy. The game itself is gorgeous, but that's pretty much par for the course with AAA titles. The acting is sharp, the writing is fun, and it honestly feels like a SW adventure. Playing the game is a mixture of adventure, platforming, and patient combat. This isn't a hack-and-slash. You need to take time to assess your enemies, approach carefully, and strike down with intent. In many ways, it is emblematic of being a Jedi. You aren't a coarse weapon, but something much more precise. The lightsaber, your only tool, is exquisite. It feels and sounds just like it should. When you connect with an enemy, it does a righteous amount of damage. Overall, I wish the controls were just a hair tighter, and the gameplay isn't always what I want after a long day. But when I need to get my Jedi on, this is by far the best experience available.
