Basically a walk in the forests of Dagobah.

Challenge: L-o-w. Enemies could be just running away from you and it still wouldn't make any difference. There are some small exceptions, like the big carbonite-thrower of flame-thrower droids WHEN they are not alone, or the fact that force lightning now makes the same effect as tickling your opponent. (Droids keep moving while they're zapped, which i think is because they don't have tickles. And you can have the power itself at level 3 and use your whole force bar in one attack and a STORMTROOPER survives it! and i'm talking about normal difficulty mode!)
After that, every other enemy has a weakness, and you don't even get the challenge of finding that weakness, as the game tells it to you the first time you find that type of enemy.
Excitement: with small challenge comes small excitement, mostly because you always win. This is the disadvantage of having an all-powerful main character like Starkiller: You never feel like you are in any real danger. You never get to think, "Man, if they give me one more blow, i'm done!". And though it may be that the developers made it that way on purpose, to allow the player to feel like a dangerous half-sith, i do like to get that feeling. Not even the appearances of Yoda or Boba Fett were enjoyable, as Starkiller basically looks at them and keeps walking.
Graphics: This is the whole reason this game gets four stars from me. The graphics are good. Really good, even getting to match the levels of Mass Effect 2 or Halo Reach, and being a much more faster-paced game, it is truly an accomplishment. The game has detail in every part of it, from the carbonite statues to the bubbling bacta inside the tanks in a medical bay. Costumes are much more properly adapted in the whole game, as most animations are just part of the gameplay, like if they were just another grapple move. Still, graphics aren't all. You need challenge, excitement, and a good story...
Length:...And you don't get any of these in the game. The game is too short and quick, as it goes through only four different locations, not counting Dagobah, through which you just walk without fighting anything. Going to Dagobah was a really good chance to see some of its faunae, maybe some rare species that would be fun to fight with the force, but instead you just see the trees and swamps as in episodes V and VI. Other than that, nothing really special or major twists in the storyline.
Overall: I didn't call it walk in the forests of Dagobah for nothing, but because it describes it perfectly: It looks pretty, but everything else stinks, and the most dangerous thing on it is your own thoughts... game developers have to start to figure out that gamers now look for something more that a very detailed lightsaber.

The Force Is Not All There

My thoughts on TFU II is that it could of been better. The gameplay plays the same as the original but with a few new nice tweaks, such as wielding dual lightsabers and decapitating limbs off enemies. Force powers are once again upgraded by earning experience, but the only ones I found to be new were the mind trick and "Force Fury" which increases Starkillers stats and go on an overkill easily. The cons of the game is that its EXTREMELY short, I've beating it the same day I bought it. The other is that they're not many enemies to fight, its mainly storm troopers, guards, and robots..and the boss battles are VERY limited. I have to say only the hardcore Star Wars fanatics should pick this game up for their collection..for others, maybe a rental would be best.

Presentation:
Wow, what a presentation, everything from the menu's to the introduction are well done.
Gameplay:
This game does a good job of recreating the Star Wars Universe, but does so in a lazy way, the level design feels like a copy and paste job. There is not a good amount of character variation, and while it does introduce you to new enemy's and new character's gradually, there is no depth or story to the characters, and the way you have to kill the enemy's is the same through the entire game. Some characters you can kill only with the force, some only with a light-saber, its only at the end do you run into other light saber wielding foes in which it takes thought to kill. The force powers are very fun to use, but they feel overdone, judging by magnitude of force powers, the main character is more powerful than any sith lord, and whatever you do, do not play on easy, unless you like feeling like you are Rambo and want no challenge. The hack and slash element to this game is super fun, and it will make you feel like the destroyer of worlds. The story line is very simple and very weak, and I ran out of motivation to play at about half way through, at the last boss fight with Vader, I was so sick of playing that I just wanted it to end.
Graphics:
Textures, reflections, character design and level design are top notch, but there is not enough variation of design, as if the makers of the game got designer block half way though. Still, well done.
Sound:
This is were this game really does well, the sounds are all spot on, this would be a great play on a surround system. Everything from the Light Saber's to the scream of a tie fighter to Yoda's voice is perfect, and really add to the game.
Conclusion:
A slightly better than average game, if you can look past the storyline and lack of deph, its a fun game that will appeal to Star Wars Fans and Hack and Slash fans. This is one of the best games in the platinum lineup, for the price, its a no brainer.

Disappointing follow up to a great game

The ONLY great thing about this game was the graphics. The game is very pretty to look at. Framerate looked good too, except for the occasional slowdown, but nothing so bad to affect the experience. Gameplay was good with the two light saber weilding, and there are some really cool combos you could do with them.
I'm sorry to say, but the reviewers that think the story was amazing clearly didn't pay much attention. From one level to the next, the story does not make any sense and things happen for no reason. It is rampant with giant plot holes and shameless cameos by characters (Yoda, mostly) that play no part whatsoever in the story that there is. The main character changed from a strong lead to a whiny emo child. There are two endings. One derails the fiction of the second half of the saga, and the other makes the entire game not make any sense. Considering that the original Force Unleashed won awards for the story, that is saying a lot.
Normally I don't complain about length, but this game was absurdly short. It's almost as if the second disc was missing from the box. And considering how the game ended, that wouldn't seem to suprising.
As far as enemies go, the developers claimed they were trying to streamline the experience by removing "unnecessary" enemy types. All I saw was a complete lack in enemy variety which made the levels seem more repetitive than they already were and limit the number of finishing moves Starkiller could perform.
I am a big gamer and huge Star Wars fan. This was the most disappointing video game purchase I made all year. I will not be supporting any of the DLC for this title.

The force is overrated?

I was really looking forward to this game, but was some what disappointed. First off, the graphics are great and there are some surprise cameos. Story is ok. However, the constant hacking and slashing of storm troopers gets a little boring. This game is really short. You should be able to beat it in 8 - 10 hours. Also, any quick movement of the camera controls chopped the screen towards the top. That being said, you should wait till the price drops on this game.
Now there are some things that I did like. Unleashing The Force Fury is pretty awesome. Just imagine using the force on steroids. The challenges are fun as well, this is for online (if you want to be ranked) and you will have plenty of costumes to choose from when you unlock them. Still if you're a Star Wars fan this is a fun game.

I bought this game yesterday, and beat it that day. I wanted the game to be longer in length. Other than the length, this game was fantastic, pretty tough in some parts and there are so many different light-saber colors to choose from, as well as costumes! Overall great game, but i wouldnt buy it, I would rent it. Also by the ending seems like there will be a third, unless they add an expansion.

I thought that this game was great. I liked the graphics, the cinematics and the combat. The only thing that I would change about this game is that it has a longer story to it. I completed the campaign in less than a day and only played for about 7 hrs altogether. If the game had taken me about a week to complete, I'd be more satisfied with it.

Great graphics and gameplay. My 9 year old had a blast with the game but beat it in a day. I'm sure he'll play it again, but don't expect a lot of content with this game.

I went against my gut and ended up buying this game. I was worried it would be like the first, beat it in a weekend and then be stuck with it. AND I should have listened to my gut. The game play, and cut scenes are great. But the stretch the story line seems to be taking and the cliffhanger at the end just makes me wonder if this series is going to be a money pit...making each game shorter and shorter just to make a buck. The game is definitely worth playing, but purchasing is another story.

First game was great, little sketchy at points but overall had a great feel and base for improvement. From reports and previews most of the problems have been fixed and new adds to the game make it more fun and expansive than before. should be a great game.
