Did not last long!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.well, I was starting my new business and did not have a full time IT, so I checked to see what the large consulting firm is using for their staff and I noticed this StarTech thing! never heard of it before but I bought it on August 1st and as of the day of this review 10/24 (less than 3 month) it failed on me. hope BB is going to take it back or exchange. will try tonight on my way back home

Works ok for windows

Defective
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.One of the DVI ports was defective. Had to work with StarTech to get a new one. Is on the way. Older technology because of the DVI, bot that is what my monitors are. we'll see if the replacement works

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Based on ratings and reviews, I bought this dock for my MacBook Pro, but was not aware from reading the specs that my OS 10.13.6 was not supported. Everything worked flawlessly...except for the HDMI connection which turned out to be only workable with 10.13.3 or lower. Alas. I will return it tomorrow and look elsewhere, perhaps the more expensive model which works with a thunderbolt2 connection. Thus, I would recommend this to a friend only if he had the proper OS.

No longer allows displays to work with Macs

I used to love this docking station, which I bought a couple of years ago. However, with the new updates, it no longer runs the displays on a Mac and a few other devices won't connect to my Mac through the station as well. For PC, you might be fine, but beware if you use a Mac. I went on the Startech support site and they have a crazily complicated workaround where you have to download a displaylink driver and try to fool the Mac into thinking your monitor is on Airplay. I tried it all, and after a lot of updating and running drivers, just went to the store and bought another one that works fine with no workarounds.
