As a tech enthusiast who is passionate about gaming peripherals, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P Wireless Gaming Headset for PS5 and PS4 in Black impresses with its blend of design, functionality, and performance. This headset sets a high bar with its sleek, minimalist design that not only looks good but feels great during extended gaming sessions. The adjustable headband and breathable ear cushions provide a comfortable fit, reducing fatigue during those marathon gaming sessions. One of the standout features of the Arctis Nova 5P is its exceptional audio quality. The custom-tuned drivers deliver a rich, immersive soundscape that enhances gameplay, making explosions, footsteps, and ambient sounds come alive with stunning clarity. The wireless connectivity is reliable, offering a lag-free experience that is crucial for competitive gaming. The battery life is also commendable, easily lasting through long sessions without the need for frequent recharges. The built-in retractable microphone is another highlight, providing clear and crisp communication with teammates. The noise-canceling feature is effective, ensuring that your voice comes through without background noise, which is a boon during intense multiplayer games. However, no product is without its shortcomings. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P, while impressive, does have a few areas where it could improve. Firstly, the price point might be a bit steep for some gamers, especially those on a budget. While the audio quality is superb, audiophiles might find that the bass could be a tad more pronounced. Additionally, the headset can feel slightly snug for users with larger heads, which might cause discomfort over extended periods. Another minor gripe is the lack of Bluetooth connectivity, limiting the headset's versatility with other devices outside the PlayStation ecosystem. Overall, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P Wireless Gaming Headset for PS5 and PS4 is a top-tier gaming accessory that delivers on its promise of high-quality audio and comfort. Despite a few minor drawbacks, it stands out as a premium choice for serious gamers looking to elevate their gaming experience. Given its performance, design, and the immersive experience it offers, I would rate this headset a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P is a great wireless gaming headset. The headset features both 2.4g wireless connectivity as well as Bluetooth. In the box you will find the headset, wireless USB-C dongle, usb-a to usb-c charging cable, and a usb-a to usb-c (female) extension cable for the dongle. The dongle is a bit of an odd shape, and not the "stick" shape most wireless dongles are. It is kind of that stick shape, but turned on it's side. So on my setup, and I'm guessing many others, it actually blocks the ports sitting next to the port that it is plugged in to. It's really a headscratcher for me, because I don't see any functional reason for designing it this way. But you can always use the extension cable to just get it out of the way completely. That aside, that is really the only somewhat negative experience I've had with this headset. Everything else was absolutely great. This particular headset works on PS5/4, PC, and bluetooth devices. Setup is practically non-existent. You just plug it in and you're ready to go. I didn't get a chance to connect these to anything bluetooth, but I imagine it wouldn't be very difficult. On PC and PS5 they work flawlessly. They have really great sound and are very comfortable to wear, even on longer gaming sessions. The mic is retractable, and when retracted, absolutely flush and you can barely tell it is even there. So these would actually work really nice as a bluetooth headset on the go without looking too silly with a mic. The battery life is also really good with this headset. I was able to use it all week, a couple of hours a day and didn't have to recharge. SteelSeries claims up to 60 hours of battery life, and I suspect these could actually reach pretty close to that if you really tried. Overall I am just very happy with this headset. It has great audio performance and a long battery life. The design of the wireless dongle is a little iffy and may block some of your other usb ports, but luckily they include an extension cable that should solve that problem if you have it. Other than that, it is a really great headset that I would highly recommend.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P is one of the latest “entry premium level” headsets from the company that has brought so many great award-winning headsets. I put quotations around entry premium level because this has lost meaning with SteelSeries headsets – they are simply that good. Let's take a look at the most important details -
Comfort and fit
The first thing I noticed was the fabric covered ear cups. Many of SteelSeries competitors use a faux leather or plastic covering that I always find hot or do not hold up. The Arctis Nova 5P goes in the other direction with a high-quality fabric on perfectly sized earcups that rotate for easy storage and a better fit. The grip on your head is not too tight and may slip on people with smaller heads. Overall, it fit me quite well, but I can see it being a bit off for people with giant heads because of where the head band is between the two sides of the headset. For me, I thought the Arctis Nova 5P is lightweight, very comfortable and just right.
Fit and finish
While the Arctis Nova 5P has an above average look and feel, it is all plastic. That is not a surprise at this price point, but you can see potential points of failure and I wonder how well it will hold up with younger, more aggressive users.
Battery –
In a word – ridiculous. I could not kill it. It is rated for 60 hours, and it still has a charge after two weeks of using it. It does not have swappable batteries, but I do not think you need it considering how long the internal batteries last.
Sound and voice –
Game sound was clear and rich across most frequencies. Not a lot of bass but acceptable. I noticed some brassiness on the higher pitched sounds and gun fire but not too bad. For my gaming, I need clarity more than anything else and the Arti The mic is super clear and there were zero issues with voice. By design, there is no foam on the mic so it can retract into the headset. The one complaint I have is the mic boom moves too easily, I would prefer the boom to be a bit more rigid.
I am not going to go into the nitty gritty proprietary features and marketing points. You can see that on BestBuy’s detail page. The bottom line is this is a great headset that loses star because I am not sure how well it will hold up for young users. Putting that aside, there are really no major downsides. It sounds great, the controls are easy to access and super comfortable. The price point is low for what you are getting and I can see some Black Friday deals making the Arctis Nova 5P hard to beat.

This is one of the most user friendly and comfortable headsets I've ever used. It took less than one hour to fully charge out of the box. Connecting to my computer was as simple connecting the included USB-C toggle to my PC and powering on the headset. If you do not have an available USB-C port, there is a USB-A to USB-C adapter included. The headset is very light and flexible which provides a comfortable fit. The cloth band at the top keeps it cool and light during long gaming sessions. What really sets it apart is how easy the controls are to access. The power on button is large and easy to find and the follow scroll wheel is just as easy to get to. You can download the optional Sonar application and select prefigured audio presets for all the latest games. The boom mic is completely hidden and can be easily extended by pulling it out of the side compartment. The mic is plenty long enough and flexible. I really like that there is built-in light in the mic that is red when muted. You can easily look down and tell if you are muted or not. The sound and mic quality are excellent, and you can hear the direction of enemies in your favorite FPS games.

The Arctis Nova 5P Wireless gaming headset is capable of multiplatform usage. It is compatible with the newest gaming platforms as well as Mac/Windows machines, along with Switch and Meta Quest devices. This over the ear headset comes with over one hundred audio presets, making it most likely to have the proper preset for your devices and games. You can also make your own preferences if needed when using the headset on a computer. The headset is ready to use right out of the box. While the headset is labeled as wireless, there is a dongle provided to utilize 2.4 gigahertz wireless ensure you have an open USB-C slot. Bluetooth does not require the use of the dongle and thus provides a longer battery life. The battery is expected to last for 50 hours on the dongle and 60 hours on Bluetooth. The microphone is hide-away along with noise cancelling. The over the ear speakers are comfortable and adjustable for the maximum comfort of the wearer.
Overall the Arctis Nova 5P headset has excellent playback.

The headband broke in 2 places, less than a month after buying. I went to take the headset off after playing one night, I used one hand to pull the headset off and it broke in the same weak point on both sides. I ended up using electrical tape to tape it back together. It sort of works that way. My last Steelseries lasted 7 years before the battery started not holding charge, should have just replaced the battery on my old one. Metal headband was way better. I like the features of the headset otherwise. Overall complete failure, though. Probably my last SteelSeries if they're going to keep the plastic headbands.

needed a new working headset for gaming + voice chatting with friends since the one i've been using for a few years finally broke on me; it was a cheap headset and i am a very low income person so 100+ dollars is a big deal kind of purchase for me regardless of what the specific item is, but i've never had a somewhat premium/high quality headset before in my multiple decades of playing games as a main hobby, so i decided to take a chance and get this set after researching a bunch of different ones online around the same price point. so glad i did!! i will say, i've only had my pair for a day so far, so i can't speak for any kind of long term use obviously, but if you're like me with a limited budget and you'd like to invest in a higher quality set, this model is wonderful. only took a few minutes to set up on both my pc and my ps5, SUPER comfortable (i wear glasses so i automatically expect headsets to just kinda hurt/squeeze my head as a default and this is the first pair i've owned that hasn't done that at all after hours of playing games today), mic quality sounds clear enough to properly chat with my friends, and even without tweaking more advanced audio settings the playback sounds nice and balanced and certainly works for me. the only critique i'd really have to say about it is that some audio does seem to be lacking in bass, but again, i haven't even messed around with any kind of sound mixing settings yet for my pair, so that's not much of a problem for me, personally. if you're like me and you're trying to figure out if this specific headset model is worth the price, i feel it absolutely is and i'm really happy to have a new working mic set now.

The SteelSeries - Arctis Nova 5P Wireless Gaming Headset is great.
First of all, it is very comfortable for me to wear for hours at a time. I have a medium-sized head, though, and do not think they would work well for large-sized heads. But for me, they’re great.
The sound was strong, clear and well-articulated - great for gaming. I actually needed to turn the volume down a bit from my usual level once I began using the Nova 5P. Using the RF adapter was a no-brainer on my gaming laptop. Just plug it in and it worked immediately.
The Bluetooth set up was the same as most bluetooth devices I’ve worked with - pretty straightforward. I love the ability to connect to both RF and Bluetooth at the same time - and switch back and forth as needed. I was initially concerned though, when my first use-scenario was being connected to my gaming laptop via RF and then connecting to my AppleTV via bluetooth. In that configuration, I found that the connection with the AppleTV was disconnected whenever I returned to it after listening via the RF setting. However, when I connected the bluetooth to my iPhone, I had no problem switching back-and-forth between it and the RF and maintaining the connections for both. I’m convinced the initial problem springs from the AppleTV’s propensity to disconnect bluetooth devices after they appear to be inactive. Something to keep in mind if your desired scenario is gaming and AppleTV.
Personally, I like using the volume dial offered on the Nova 5P as opposed to the more-common up and down buttons found on others. I also appreciate the fact that the mic fully retracts and ‘disappears’, since I mostly game solo. On the other hand, the mute light on the mic is another nice touch for when it is in use.
Bottom-line: I am thoroughly enjoying my SteelSeries - Arctis Nova 5P Wireless Gaming Headset.
