Customers are delighted by the Rival 700's unique OLED display and its ease of use, praising its responsiveness and accurate tracking. However, some find the mouse too heavy and expensive for their preferences, while others note limitations in haptic feedback functionality. The software and customizable buttons also receive positive feedback.

This mouse has one of the best optical sensors available. It is very precise and responsive. The biggest downside is the heft. It's heavy in the backend and some may get wrist/hand fatigue from the heftiness. Otherwise, the software, hardware and ergonomics are top-notch!

Exceptional Gaming Mouse - IMHO. Right Handed, Palm, Claw, and Fingertip grip style, 7-Programable buttons, LED lighting at the scroll wheel and back of mouse (Buttons and Lighting customizable via the SSE software [SteelSeries Engine]) Weight - 135 grams, Corded - 2 cords supplied that plug into the mouse at the front underside.
((Long Cable Length (braided) 2m, 6.5 ft))
((Short Cable Length (non-braided) 1m, 3.28 ft))
The cover is Matte Top Cover and to me, a bit slippery.
OLED screen is nice as well.

I was very excited about this gaming mouse. It is a great shape and size for bigger hands. It was primarily purchased for gaming. After a few hours my hands became fatigued. It is almost double the weight of my Razr mouse. It is not good for lengthy gaming sessions due to weight. The LCD and force feedback are nice, but unneccary features. Consider size and weight before purchasing.

First thing I did was see how well the screen worked and of course I drew a male body part. A little pixelatated but good for words! Lol . The tracking is phenomenal on this mouse a little expensive but built to last.

I buy a few gaming mice a year typically and normally they break or their functionality declines enough to warrant purchasing a new one. After a few months with this mouse I have no sense I will need to replace this for a long time. Quality is there.
Regarding performance I also have no complaints. The smoothness and features are top notch and the on-board software with mini OLED screen is not only a unique feature but is also quite useful (more than you think).
My only complaint is the fact that the firmware refuses to update supposedly due to an issue with the removable cord not seating properly based on researching the issue online. Normally this would mean this mouse would lose a start, but in this case not getting the firmware updated has not affected me whatsoever. The software keeps telling me daily I should update the firmware but I honestly love this mouse as is and I doubt a firmware update would make it that much better.

First of all the weight is spot on. I was apprehensive about the smaller width of the mouse, but I have actually grown to like it. Extremely responsive in all games played to date. Streamlined thumb/macro is suprisingly good. Excellent grips on the both sides as well. Not a lot to personalize at all, but if you want a bare bones elite gaming mouse, this is a good one.

Seriously the most impressive mouse ever the rgb and the features are crazy cool. Easy to use and such a comfortable edition to my RIG. Wife loves it too. The Quality I was hoping for its perfect to go with my Mechanical KB. Gaming features are easy to use. I do not play the games it comes with but it was easy to spend some time getting it setup for the games I do Play.

I have been a PC gamer for 10+ years and am always searching for the best gaming peripherals that I can find. For a number of years I went through a ton of Logitech G series products and Razer products as well. Then one day my mouse crapped out on me and I ended up needing to pick up something cheap and fast. I settled on the Rival 100 and played with it for about 6 months before upgrading to the Rival 700 as soon as It came out. I have used it every day since and I absolutely love it. The tactile sensor technology is awesome for MOBA play and some RPGs. Having a vibration as an alert for when your cooldowns are finished has come in handy for games like League of Legends and Overwatch. The OLED has a number of different customization options. One of the complaints I had with the Rival 100 was the material they coat that particular mouse with. I read a lot of negative reviews where that coating seemed to be the focal point and they listened to customers feed back and changed it with the Rival 700. It is holding up quite nicely. The customization and them releasing the files to 3D print a cover for the mouse is also awesome. There is so much I am impressed with and nothing I don't like. The Rival 700 landed Steel Series a customer for life.

I was doing a great deal of research on gaming mice before purchasing this one. Narrowing it down between the Logitech and the Steel series due to the way that they felt and performance. I have had a great deal of mice and knew the way that certain companies catered to their mice but this newer Steel Series kept coming up in product reviews and websites as one the top rated.
After having the mouse for some time I can see why it was so highly rated. The customization is amazing giving you full control over the RGB color codes to choose from. Also the customization of the screen on the mouse I thought was a great little bonus. As for the feel it's top notch, everything from the braided cord to the actual feel of the mouse makes it feel extremely sturdy and not like it will fall apart. I feel like this will be my go to mouse from now and into the long future.

I have a kitten who loves to chew on cables (that's why I needed a new mouse) and I love the fact that this mouse comes with the ability to change cables! You can either have the rubber one or the other cable that feels like a shoelace(its like the cable that Razer mice have). You can change so many settings with this mouse! Two different speeds and even include a little design on the screen it has on the side. I love how the mouse feels and it runs smoothly on my pad.

Steelseries - Rival 700 Gaming Mouse-FPS/MMO

Straight out of the chute - this is a HEAVY gaming mouse, weighing in at around 135g where others are generally far less. Well fitted for "Palm" or "Claw" grip style and is only right-handed with seven fully customizable buttons plus the scroll wheel and you can include tactile feedback or not to the buttons with zero recoil. Primarily suited for FPS Gamers, but can be used for MMO's and others. Yes, there is a lot of 'Hate' out there towards the Rival 700 - Mostly on the weight issue, which is not much after a couple uses. Excellent tracking with the optical sensor, but if you desire laser - SS offers one. The "OLED" display is kind of nice and too is customizable to a small extent. The only true downside is the games supported via "GAMESENSE" which is still currently limited to 3: CS:GO, Dota2 and Minecraft. But don't let that minor discourage you. So if you are: Strictly FPS - Rival700 MMO's & FPS - Rival700 or Rival500 Strictly MMO's - Rival500 gaming mice
