Customers are saying
Customers are positive about the addicting gameplay, ease of use, and charming music and characters in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town. Many appreciate the nostalgic elements and the quality-of-life improvements in this remake of a classic game. However, some customers are negative about the inconsistent controls and the absence of promised pre-order bonuses. A few also felt the game lacked sufficient content compared to other entries in the series.

It's an alright game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's an alright game. The controls are a little wonky on the switch, and it can be confusing at times. Overall, pretty fun, my younger siblings enjoy playing it.

Childhood

A great trip down memory lane
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I did not play the Gameboy Advance version of Friends of Mineral Town, I did play the N64 version of Harvest Moon. It's great to see some on the old characters from that game and their makeovers. So far it's a fun game. I have a bit of the issue of the sprites looking like chunky babies, but their character models in dialogues look fine. If you like Stardew Valley you'll like a game like this. It's quiet obvious Stardew took a lot of concepts from this series. I couldn't get into Stardew Valley because the sprite and art are terrible compared to what Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons offers.

A Nice Chill Farm
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most of the farming games of Story of Seasons has come out with has become more and more advanced and intense lately, now with this nostalgic remake I found myself able to relax and just farm old style and not have to worry about star quality or fertilizing, or animal treats. Yet it is on a new console with updated graphics, controls, and better features as a whole. I have fallen in love with this game and look forward to reaching fifty years... which i was never able to before!

Awesome Fun!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very fun game! You can see why Stardew Valley creator lists this series as the inspiration for that awesome game. It really does feel like a Stardew game but with better graphics and no combat in the mines. Love the relationship building, they have so many characters to interact with. Also enjoy the seasonal changes in the game. Like how you milk your cows and shear your sheep and rabbits. You even have a pet and own a horse. Overall I love it! If you love Stardew get this game!

great alternative to animal crossing
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this game because I wanted an alternative to Animal Crossing, on which I have more than 800 hours, and frankly a little over. This game is a great alternative! I found that it has a lot more of the life sim that AC is missing. Its more fast paced since you can go through various days in one gaming sessions, instead of AC's real time gameplay. Highly recommend it if you're tired of your animal crossing game, but looking for something similar that is still pretty chill but just different enough to be engaging.

Just as good as the original
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re a fan of the original Friends of Mineral Town on GBA I think you’ll enjoy this faithful remake. They did improve some aspects to make the gameplay not as frustrating, like being able to see your stamina and not having to manually shove your animals into the barn when they ignore the bell :’) (I also feel like it’s a lot easier to make money in this one, but I’m not complaining lol.) Overall it’s a great remake that I think old and new players will enjoy.

A nice update to a Game Boy classic
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very nice update to the Game Boy Advance game formerly known as Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. My wife has invested over 70 hours on this new version. I do wish the graphics were updated a bit more, but its still very nice for what they have done. There is just something relaxing about taking care of a farm here and there. Here's to hoping to see more games like these in the future!

Great game, especially if you played the original
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Same farm mechanics as the original with some quality of life changes. I am enjoying the game so far! Some new animals added since the original (angora rabbits, brown chickens, alpaca, fruit cows, coffee cows, and strawberry cows). Two new marriage candidates, and new fall crops. Really fun and great for pick up and go game play.

Fun, but Light in Content
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was very fun and relaxing, but after being spoiled by games like Stardew Valley and My Time At Portia, it was a little lacking in content and heart. It certainly worked very well with no bugs encountered (unlike Portia) and 3D models are always welcome, but it did not take long for me to lose interest. It may have been sufficient for its original release as a 2D handheld game, but I expected a little bit more.

STRAWBERRY COWWW
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first SOS game, and after coming from ACNH, the passage of time made me feel rushed. Still figuring out the right way for me to play, but gotta say I'm definitely sticking with it because of the cows. Oh boy I cant wait to have all the cute and colorful cows on my farm! If Olive Town had strawberry cows I would have picked a copy up of it as well.

Simple remake of a simple game
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I played the original on the GBA way back when. This is exactly that, the same 20-year-old game remade with better graphics and a couple of fun additions like some new animals and some changes like same-sex marriage being allowed. If you are looking for something fun and basic this is it. But if you want something on par with Stardew Valley or Rune Factory 4, look elsewhere.
