It plays great but levels aren't that interesting. You get to unlock lots of fighters but there's no ending. Bosses aren't that interesting. The soundtrack is excellent but other than that, i say get it at a low price or skip it.

With Streets of Rage 2 being one of my favourite games of all time, I went into this game trying to suppress my high hopes and be objective about it. Any anxiety I had about it living up to standards set by the previous SOR games was swept aside within the first couple of levels. This game is a joy to play. The characters feel weighty and the combat packs a punch (unlike Double Dragon Neon); also, there is enough variety between characters to make them all worth playing the game through with. It feels familiar, but there are also small tweaks to the fighting that only add to the enjoyment, without breaking an already winning formula. Throw in a great score by Yuzo Koshiro and lovingly hand-drawn characters and backgrounds and you have a 2D beat-em-up that not only hits all the nostalgia buttons from the early 90's, but moves the genre forward into the current day.

This game is easily one of the more fun games I have played this year. The game has a few modes to play in like versus and a boss rush mode. But there is also a story mode which consists of 12 stages. Each Stage has its own boss and enemies. Although sometimes you will fight some bosses more than once. You can try to beat the game yourself or with friends. Only two players online but up to 4 can play locally which is incredibly fun. You can also have 4 players in all the other modes which is a nice touch. There are also secret characters to unlock which adds a lot more replay value to the game. Only reason I scored it 4 stars is because for the price, the game could have more content so you might want to wait for a sale. The game is also $10 cheaper if you want the game digitally instead of a physical version.

So we finally get a proper Streets Of Rage sequel...and I'm pleased to say, this one lives up to the hype. 5 wonderfully animated player characters, new super moves, 12 stages, and a retro-inspired soundtrack make this one to pick up. Being a revival of an old-school game means Street Of Rage 4 falters where its aged predecessors have as well - it's extremely short. The story/arcade mode take less than 2 hours to beat, and if you're not keen on going for online rankings you'll tire of this one quickly. Unlocking the classic character sprites is a nice extra, but beyond that there's not much to do. Streets Of Rage 4 succeeds in being what it is, but only just. As with many of these classic franchise revivals, I find myself wanting more. They nailed the gameplay and graphical style, but a couple extra mini-campaigns or alternate paths would've modernized the formula and really added some meat to its bones. Still, it's great for some old-school fun with friends...even if it's short-lived.

I wasn’t sure about the art style, but the graphics are great. The music is a throwback to the originals with some EDM influence. The gameplay is solid. Combo system works well. Overall a great game!

So, when playing this game in multi-player (each of my kids has a controller) be aware that you can hit each other and cause mega damage.....friendly fire if you will. My kids had a knock down drag out fight with each other over this. After a little looking, there is, thankfully, a way to turn friendly fire off. In the character selection screen, push triangle and it will disable it. My kids went back to being best friends after this. We LOVE this game. Especially boss battles.

Had a blast playing this with kids. Old school game play, updated graphics and 4 player co op. Good soundtrack, Wish it was a little longer with more unlockable characters but made a great game night with the family . Looks like it’s set up for a part 5 can’t wait.

I've always been a fan of the series since I grew up with it, and this new iteration did not disappoint. The graphics are stellar and gameplay is very responsive. It takes what was great about this franchise back in the genesis days and brings it up to todays standards while staying true to its roots. I played this game solo and co-op and both times it was tremendous fun.

Brings back memories with this super fun classic couch co-op game!! If you're looking for a 2-4 player coop game to play with friends and family then look no further!! This came is fun and easy to play that even my 3 year old nephew had a plast walking around while we did most of the fighting! I do wish it was longer, but still worth playing for sure!

Great game and lots of fun. Bought for a little nostalgia from my days playing on Sega. Fun side scroller with classic characters but updates enough to make it feel new. Would recommend for anyone who enjoys playing with multiple people at the same time.

I loved playing Streets of Rage 2 and 3 back in the day. This game, while having a different graphical style, reminds me of the old games. I loved playing through it and have beat the game multiple times since I purchased it. Highly recommend it.

Fantastic flash back from the Streets of Rage games in the 90's on Sega. Has the right balance of staying true to what made them so much fun back in the day while upgrading and keeping the game fresh.
