This was a gift for a relative who had seen the movie in the theater and liked it well enough to want a copy, but I got a chance to watch it before Christmas and was very happy I did. This is yet another classic movie of a real event that isn't just a rah rah affair but examines the human condition and the second guesses that seem to be all the rage for those that accomplish something despite all the things that should have derailed the attempt.

I found it very interesting to finally get the comprehensive story from this movie (the juicy parts anyway). Basically, I just remember a jetliner landing in the water in NYC and did not have much of a sense of what Scully and his co-pilot had to endure afterwards. Well I learned A LOT as the plot advanced itself.. I was fascinated by the story and of course 'The Miracle on the Hudson'. Thanks BIG TIME to all of our heroes!

I would recommend this movie to all. Note:On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the "Miracle on the Hudson" when Captain "Sully" Sullenberger glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation.

This is not your typical "disaster" movie and it didn't focus entirely on the accident but also the characters behind it. Hanks did a great job and gave a believable performance of this true to life movie. I like that there's character development. I like that we get to see the hearings that took place. I like that we get to know some of the passengers. It made people care about the characters and that's what made it a great movie!

As a collector of blu-rays, I absolutely love this blu-ray of Sully. Thank you Best Buy for selling this blu-ray and making it available to collectors, like myself. If you are a collector and looking for the best place to purchase Sully on blu-ray, look no further then Best Buy for your blu-ray purchasing needs! You'll be glad you did. Cheers!

tricky film to pull off considering that we all know how this came out - Tom Hanks is excellent as Sully and Aaron Eckhart is terrific as his co-pilot - We found ourselves enthralled and worried for Sully despite knowing what happened in real life - a lot like "Apollo 13" in that regard - only quibble is about the very underutilized Laura Linney but we're not sure how they could have incorporated her any better

This is a real native 4K master, not some 1080 upscale like most others. The picture is truly gorgeous. The movie is also suspenseful, even though you already know it has something to do with landing a plane in the Hudson River. It's more about how the captain had to defend himself in court from regulators who were questioning his judgment. Great direction from Client Eastwood.

Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart knocked it out of the park on this one. Both are incredibly talented actors and pulled you right into the film. You could feel the emotions of the crew and the passengers and it was incredible, almost as if you were there with them. So glad they made a movie about Mr. Sullenberg--he truly is a hero and he had one of the very best portray him. One of the best movies EVER.

I purchased Sully [includes Digital Copy] [ultraviolet] [blu-ray/dvd] [2 Discs]" because I wanted to learn more about the airplane incident of a couple years ago. We think of Sully as a hero, but we did not really know about the painful scrutiny that he had to go through after the fact. It is an interesting story that everyone should see. Tom Hanks does an excellent job with the movie as Sully.

I really enjoyed this movie. I have always been a Tom Hanks fan. I didn't even realize that Captain Sully was being criticized for landing the plane in the water. I have been trying to pick up as many 4K Ultra HD Blu-Rays as possible because the picture quality is awesome. Just wish that they have more titles. Love the Dolby Atmos....sounds fantastic on my high-end home theater system.

"Sully" is a good movie by the always reliable Tom Hanks. While we all probably remember the "miracle in the Hudson", I certainly did not know the questioning the pilot went through for his actions. While it portrayed the courage of convictions, the plot was also "man against machine". Sully's insight to inject the human factor into the investigation of his actions was the turning point.

I really loved this movie. As a professional pilot I could really relate to what the pilots were going through. The only detail I thought was off was when it showed the pilots with checklists in hand getting ready for push-back. Pilots that fly everyday for years and years don't touch the checklists except when the FAA is on board or for training. They have the checklist memorized cold.

Everyone knows about the miracle on the Hudson, the landing of a jet airliner in the shadow of New York City but few probably know what transpired during the official government investigation as to why the plane had to land in the water and not back at the airport. Suffice to say this has a better ending then the last time Manhattan had to deal with commercial airplanes in the city.

Most people remember the "Miracle on the Hudson" from a few years back so the story is familiar... here we get to learn a little more about the man behind that miracle, a man affectionately nicknamed "Sully". Tom Hanks again does a wonderful performance with a decent supporting cast. Its one of those movies that even though you know how it ends, its still a good and enjoyable watch!

I had just finished reading the book,, "Sully", and had seen a review of the movie. Even though the main story is the same, the book focused on the "early years" of learning to fly and life experiences. The movie kept early scenes to a minimum; mainly portrayed the accident and near-term (before and after) timeline to the event. Very worthwhile purchase to add to movie library.

While a lot of the investigatory portion of the film was somewhat fictionalized, the technical portions of the movie including the flight, rescue and the technical aspects of the investigation were superb. Overall, the story telling was excellent with flashbacks mixed into the story that fully framed the story. The 4K presentation was terrific. Highly recommend this film.

Tom Hanks distinguishes himself with a great performance in Clint Eastwood's tribute to Sully's courage and heroism. The double Academy Award winner is one of the best actors of our time, in the role of a pilot, who is confident in his four decades of flying. Hanks is a veritable Sully, grey hair, and all! Yet, the marvelous landing of the airliner without its engines and the equally marvelous previous and subsequent live of the pilot, especially his Air Force experience could have been made the movie even more exciting if the filmmaker had decided to include some of it in the movie.

Great look at (somewhat) recent historical events. Saw a TV show (The Aviators) recently that was recorded after the events depicted in the movie, but before production of the movie began, where the first officer said Brad Pitt should play him if a movie were ever made about these events!

Tom Hanks is fantastic as "SULLY." It makes it much easier to watch knowing the end result of everyone being safe. Sully is a true hero for what both the fantastic landing in the Hudson and getting all the folks off the plane. Also, a "hats off" to the fantastic flight attendants in doing what they were trained to do. A fantastic film!!!

Tom Hanks and Clint Eastwood? Perfect together. I was aware of what happened on the Hudson in the Winter of 2009, or so I thought. What happened behind the scenes to "Sully" elevates this film beyond the Miracle on the Hudson if that is even possible. Technical aspects on this Blu-ray are outstanding, I would have loved a few more special features on this one.
