one of the best movies that I have seen for a long time clint eastwood does a great job directing this epic film heart wrenching the film takes you into the story by making you part of the real life people that experienced this real life drama of the amazing landing on the Hudson river. I could watch this movie over and over

How do you make a movie on an event that lasted around 45 seconds and with an ending in which that everyone knew the outcome. Clint Eastwood, the director, puts together an outstanding movie despite working with these constraints. This movie should have been nominated for an Oscar Award in several categories. It's that good!

Films that enlighten as well as entertain are all too rare. Sully does both. I had a superficial awareness that there was some sort of investigation and controversy after the amazing landing, but did not know much at all about that. I was delighted that the film brought to the screen both the dramatic landing and the behind the scenes tensions that unfolded later. Sully's heroism seems even greater knowing what he had to face during the investigation. As usual, Tom Hanks inhabits the character. Well worth seeing!

Another Tom Hanks hit. I've read the book and this movie did the story justice. You can feel the anxiety and fear that must have been felt by every passenger, airline personnel and the citizens of NYC. Make sure to watch ALL the way to the end to catch the real life responses from the actual survivors. True American Heros!!

Awesome movie and I can personally say being an airline pilot myself the film seemed very realistic to me. Had an opportunity to see the filming process at LaGuardia Airport as well with the whole film crew during my scheduled day of work at Terminal B at Concourse D (the scene at the mini mart at the airport.)

Sully is one of the best stories you will see in a long while. Behind the scenes, his own doubt about himself under duress is further compounded by the experts constant hounding of him during the crash investigation. In the end, Sully was a great, rewarding experience to witness on the movie screen. First rate story!!!

I wasn't too sure about watching this movie - how much of a movie could you make about a plane landing on the Hudson right after take off?!? Boy was I wrong! Sooo much I didn't realize happened behind the scenes and to the Pilot Sully, it was a great movie.... I was so wrong and glad I watched it, then I had to buy it!

Very good movie. Tom Hanks was totally believable in the role. The folks making the movie followed the actual occurrence and did not "Hollywood" the script. Sully did unexceptional thing and despite the efforts of several idiots, who tried to put him down, he proved that there could be a good ending to a bad situation.

This is a great movie about a most recent current event that played out in newspaper and tv news. While being familiar with the outcome of the plane crash and the heroic efforts of pilot and crew, the movie's rendering of the crash and rescue was still exciting, breath-taking, and heroic. But there is quite a lot more to the story of the Review Board after the crash that was unfamiliar to me and just as exciting to watch. Tom Hanks does an incredible acting performance as the title character.

Great movie about a real plane with real people landing in a river in winter and all 155 of them survived because the effort of everyone involved. It's hard to make a movie about something that happened so quickly. Hollywood changed a few things, but it did make the movie extremely interesting and exciting.

I expected this movie to simply cover the events leading up to the plane making its emergency landing on the Hudson river. I was pleasantly surprised to see Sully's life saving event from a whole new angle. The movie was great and Tom Hanks portrayed an excellent Sully. The DVD/Bluray extras are worth the purchase.

Sully saves the lives of everyone in his plane by landing on the Hudson river. He prevails over the bureaucrats who wanted to blame him for not landing back at the airport. I enjoyed the direction of Clint Eastwood on this. The frenetic style common today is replaced with longer shots and character development.

I really love this movie. I have watched it numerous times. It was interesting to learn what Captain Sully went through with the review board after the miracle landing when everyone was praising him as a hero. Looks great in 4k.

First off, i didnt get a chance to watch it at the theaters but after reading reviews of how good it is i decided to buy it in 4K UHD. Great choice i made. I was amazed how there was more to the story other than sully safely landing the plane. The storyline and acting are great and the graphics are amazing in 4K.

A totally engrossing portrayal of this true event. A feel good movie that makes you feel proud of our country and how people come together in a time of crisis. The additional features will amaze you on how much effort went into this film. You learn that some of the actual respondents got to portray themselves.

I wasn't expecting much from a film that pretty much retells what we all know about the Sully Hudson landing. I was wrong, this is a fine film, albeit with a bit of Hollywood hyperbole, that powerfully puts you in the seat of both passengers and captain. Great special effects boosts this overall great movie.

I thought the perspective of the film was excellent without going into detail to give anything away. It's hard to say if all the emphasis placed on certain points in the story are accurate to life or there to enhance the drama, but it seemed very plausible to happen this way to me. Definitely worth seeing.

This movie got me by surprise, who knew a movie about a commercial airline Landing in the Hudson River would turn out to be such a great movie. Awesome cast Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart did a great job portraying these characters. This definitely a must have for any Blu-ray collection. 5.5 out of 5.

When I lived in NY I flew from LGA on a weekly basis. The thought of a water landing never crossed my mind. Hanks handles the cockpit scenes with the aplomb of a seasoned pilot but the true kudos go to the real crew. The flick is well done.You can feel the icy Hudson River water lapping at your toes.

The movie itself does give you the insight on the background of Captain Sully and his experiences after the emergency landing. It was eye opening to think how investigators test a downed plane's final trajectory. Anyhow the purchase was nice which included a regular DVD copy along with a digital copy.
