Forget the tripod, this is way better

Good, sturdy pole

I was worried, since I purchased it online, that it would be flimsy and not hold up my rather large Nikon Coolpix 950. It certainly holds it well, and attaches and detaches easily. It is also adjustable so that it can strap on to the bottom of my camera bag.

The monopod is light and works fine but its still hard to hold the camera still with my heavy camera and lens. I'm not sure how much I'll use it.

A good addition for your camera supplies

It is light and attaches easily to the camera. You do need to keep a steady grip on your camera. The foot has a rubber pad which can be turned to expose a spike, depending on what type of environment you will be shooting in.
