    this fun if you have family over and want to play a competitive game. single player seems repetitive, but there's a lot of unlockables. the controls are a little off as i remember in past titles as soon as you stop pressing the directional pad bomber man would stop immediately but now it has kind of a pac man feel to it.

    Super Bomberman R is a PS4 port of the Nintendo Switch launch title. Game plays well, nothing too spectacular. It has an in-game currency system, thankfully the publisher and developer left out any micro transactions. Still this game just doesn't have the magic that the old Bomberman games from the NES/SNES era had.

    I love Bomberman, but this is by no means its best iteration. It's fun, it's the same gameplay as always, you can't really change that, but the menu layouts are bland and uninspired. It's a struggle to actually start playing. I'm glad I got it on sale, but would have been sad if I had paid full price.
