Daughter loves the game and it does so much more than I imagined with it playing Netflix which actually is easier than running it through my chrome cast which can freeze up now and then. She also thinks it's cool to be able to skype with her friend who has one and they can play tic tax toe and watch movies at the same time.

This is easily one of the "Must-own" titles for 3ds. It is basically the same game as Wii U version which is a good thing as both are incredibly fun and well made. This game is suitable for all ages and is fun for younger children all the way to adults. It goes onsale pretty frequent so look to grab it when its around $25 or less.

The Best Mario Game in Years

Super Mario 3D Land for the Nintendo 3DS is perhaps the best Mario game to be released since Sunshine on the GameCube. Its use of perspective and 3D to make the player stop and think about the game world is always refreshing. The game incorporates many familiar aspects of 3D Mario games such as Mario 64 and Sunshine while also pushing the bar, all while being portable and easy to play in quick bursts or long sessions. The gradual increase in difficulty is manageable for players of all levels and the game is much longer than it initially appears. I would recommend this game to anyone who hasn't given it a fair shot.

I came to this after having beaten Super Mario 3D World and having enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I'm kind of tired of side-scrolling Mario games (personally I'm looking forward to a Sunshine 2, or even something completely new), but the added depth and new level design tricks were enough to hook me.
Anyway, after having enjoyed 3D World, I thought it would be good to give the first game of the formula, 3D Land, a try. It actually does feel surprisingly....small, very much like a portable game, which it is, but somehow I was expecting a little bit more. It's not bad by any stretch, but something about the levels feels empty. Part of it probably has to do with the lack of multiplayer, which is how I played most of 3D World.
Overall they're very similar games, but 3D Land definitely feels like the lesser of the two. It's probably going to be the easier one to find cheaper though, so if you've yet to play either one, you could always give 3D Land a shot first to see if you like the general idea, then go for 3D World for the fully-polished console experience. Going backwards does feel like a bit of a downgrade, but it's not so bad that it renders the game unenjoyable either.

Ever since super Mario 64, all the 3D Mario games have just gotten better and better. My favorites so far is the Galaxy games, simply amazing. This one is just as good and is the best Mario game on the 3DS. Lots of fun and challenging levels, this one is as good as it gets in portability.

I've been playing the Super Mario games since the beginning. Every generation of these games brings something new and exciting to the party. The 3D on this game is really nicely implemented, especially on the new 3DS XL. Playing through this feels familiar, yet new, all at the same time.

Great 3D action, with repeatable levels and scaling difficulty. Enjoyable replay of earlier "easy" levels to find hidden items and complete entire worlds, or to gain extra lives for more difficult challenges. A definite must for any Nintendo collection. One of my favorite 3DS games.

Lately, Mario has been on a retro-kick, with his 2D platforming roots coming back to the forefront, but there's only so many times that kind of thing can be rehashed before you get tired of it. Super Mario 3D Land, though, does a good job of adding the 3rd dimension to the platforming fun, and while it's not the wide-open acrobatic worlds made famous by Super Mario 64, this game represents a good fusion of that kind of movement with retro-style level design. The levels are varied, with a few new tricks here and there, and they're long enough to feel worthy while also being short enough to be suitable for some quick fun on the go or between events. The controls are rock solid. As for as the actual "3D" effect, I usually keep it turned down, as I don't find the gimmick worth the eyestrain, and aside from one special room in each world, it's not really used by the game.

I really did enjoy the game on the Wii U and wanted to try it out on the 3ds. It is still very fun even on the small screen. It does take some adjustment to get used too from the Wii U version to the 3ds version but it you like Mario games, this is a must have.

I was divided between this game and New Super Mario Bros. I picked this one based off of what I've seen on Youtube and from what I've read in articles. Great and challenging gameplay. An awesome game for anyone and everyone. A must have for any 3ds owner.

Do not mistake 3D Land with 3D World for the Wii U. The games are different. So far I have not come across any cat versions of our characters. The gameplay itself is not difficult and it has that wonderful Mario feel.

This was the game I picked up when I got my 3DS and I haven't regretted it. Mario fans old and new will love this new adventure. The 3D effects pop, but the classic platforming action takes center stage. Highly recommend this adventure!

It's a fun game chock full of great Mario madness. However it is a surprisingly short game. If I wanted I could have beat the whole thing in one sitting. I remember Mario games used to take a long time to beat, so I was shocked to see I had already made it halfway through the game in only a few hours. This wouldn't be an issue if the game wasn't so expensive. Mario games usually never go down in price and thats fine because you know you are getting a quality game. However I wouldn't have paid full price if I had known it was going to be so short and easy to beat. On the positive side of things, it was a fun game with great graphics. They use the 3D aspect seamlessly and perfectly. If you love Mario then this is a must. However try and get it on sale or used or something.

I bought this after throughly enjoying 3D Worlds and I was not disappointed. This is a must have title for any 3DS owner. While a but easier than its console counterparts, the level length was just perfect for the gamer on the go.

I recently repurchased this again after having it with an old 3DS a few years ago that I sold. Got a new 3DS, had to add this classic to the library. I mean, cmon. It’s freaking Mario, it’s gonna be good.

Though a bit on the easy side the game is tons of fun and brings the Super Mario fun into a new dimension. 3D effects are solid though slightly gimmicky. Challenge levels are a great test of you skill.
Highly recommended!
