If you love platformers, then this game is definitely for you. Have hours of fun playing different levels made by gamers from all over the world, or make levels for yourself, your friends, or anyone else that loves Mario. Great game. Doesn't have all the same functions and features as its Wii U counterpart, but still great none the less.

Totally get that the DS is a portable console, but working typically with two monitors for work, it is kind of a bummer having to constantly jump in and out of menus while designing.

Great game to play on the DS. Creates your own lvl

Purchased this for my son (7 years old), as well as, a few other games for his DS system. He seems to like this one the best because of the ability to build and play his own levels. I was concerned that it would be too difficult for him but he seemed to figure out everything on his own just fine.

My son was laughing and enjoying making different settings. He enjoy making different characters and buildings and remaking them. He is autistic so hearing laugh was great ...... I enjoy seeing him laugh and use his imagination to create his own world for Mario. I and looking forward seeing his new creation,

Perfect game for my young boy as his first ever game for his new Nintendo 3ds we bought him for his 6th birthday, I used to love this game as a kid myself so quite tempting at times to have a play, unfortunately my little boy will not allow me to touch his new gaming system and any games..lol

Fun game and have been upset that it wasn't available for many platforms and when it came out for the 3DS I grabbed it for Christmas Gifts. I personally don't play it but the 9 year old boy is having a blast with it. To the point I think I have seen every option available and I don't even play it.

Mario Maker 3DS is a great way to play Mario Maker on the go. Designing levels is a snap, and the game controls well when it's time to play your dastardly creations. The biggest disappointment is Nintendo's very poor implementation of how to share levels in the 3DS version of the game. You're stuck with random levels online or sharing levels locally with other 3DS owners. If you are expecting the full Wii U experience in terms of locating and sharing specific levels online, the 3DS version of this game falls short. It's hard to understand why Nintendo would make such a brilliant game and cut down one of the most important parts of the experience - sharing your creations with others. This isn't a complete deal breaker for me, as I own the Wii U version of the game. I knew the limitations before I purchased the 3DS version and just wanted a way to get a quick fix on the go. But it's still disappointing that even after all of these years, Nintendo still can't get the online/social gaming experience right. I do recommend this game, but ONLY IF you know the limitations and don't require a fully-featured online experience.

The 3DS has lived for a long time and this game just extended its life for even much more years. The fact that you can create your own worlds and play other worlds made by other 3DS players is insane!!!! it's practically a never ending game.
