Great remastering of a classic and much wanted revival of the Snes classic. A new fun twist on an old classic with a roster full of beloved characters.

Super Mario RPG on the Nintendo Switch is everything I hoped for and more! As someone who played the original on the SNES, this remake brought back so many great memories — but with stunning updated graphics, improved gameplay mechanics, and a soundtrack that strikes the perfect balance between nostalgia and freshness.
The turn-based combat is smooth and satisfying, especially on the Nintendo Switch OLED — the visuals absolutely pop on the vibrant screen! I played it on both handheld and docked mode, and the experience was seamless. Whether you’re using the regular Switch, Switch Lite, or OLED, the game plays flawlessly and feels like a true love letter to classic RPG fans.
The quirky humor, charming characters, and engaging story make this a must-play for any Mario fan — old or new. It’s family-friendly, replayable, and an absolute joy from start to finish.
If you’re looking for a beautifully crafted, feel-good adventure, Super Mario RPG is worth every coin. Best Buy made the purchase quick and easy, and I couldn’t be happier with my experience!

I’ve played the original Super Mario RPG on the SNES many years ago. This remake is absolutely perfect: from the colorful graphics, new gameplay elements, & to be able to alternate between the new soundtrack & the original! It’s faithful to the SNES game & a ton of fun!

It's a remake of a previous game of the same name but more nice looking. Giving a story to Mario is valued as Mario isn't known for its story but for its fun. When you combine the two you get this game. We need more Mario Rpg adventures.

Super Mario RPG was an all time favorite from my SNES days. I would always play it, or just listen to the music. I love this remake because it stood faithful to the original game, and the music and graphics are wonderful. I also love that they have the original music as an option, though I personally love the remastered versions. Honestly, this is a better version than the original game, and that’s saying something.

I believe this was a remake of an older Mario RPG game and it was a blast! The story progression and character development is pretty typical but satisfying. Personally not a big fan of this chibi type art style, but it's cute I guess. You band up with the wonderful Peach, menacing Bowser and a couple new partners who I won't spoil for you. I think where this game really shines is on the core gameplay loop. I found the turn based combat to be pretty similar to original / thousand doors Paper Mario which is nostalgic because there's timing based action inputs to do more damage and block incoming attacks. If you're successful, you can chain combos and stack up stats depending on your party members. It's also recommended to take on plenty of enemy encounters to level your party and buy gear upgrades since its a JRPG. To be honest, there was absolutely no point in this game that I was remotely challenged. But I'm also a 28 year old man playing a nintendo game, so there would be a bigger issue if I was. Overall recommend picking this one up, but it might be worthwhile to wait for a sale. I spent about $4 / hour played which isn't incredible value. Still had fun though!

This game was my favorite from my SNES days, so this was an obvious day 1 purchase for me. This remake is done perfectly. The soundtrack is perfect, the combat is remade to be different but fun, and the game is faithful to its SNES predecessor. If you played the original, you NEED to play this. If you are a fan of RPGs, you NEED to play this.
