I'm a 40 year old that gets creamed at Smash Bros. I've always been terrible at it. We do a lot of 8 player smash and I was tired of getting crushed. So I bought this - first time I've ever purchased a strategy guide for a game (because let's face it - you can usually find what you need on the Internet these days). This book alone is worth it for the alphabetical list of every character and what their core moves are and what their custom moves are, etc. It includes strategy for each character, info about ways to beat the bosses like Master/Crazy Hand (without giving too much away), etc. It is useful for both the 3DS version and the Wii U version. I am definitely a better player because of this - great reference while playing with beginners who want to learn the moves quickly.

Great guide book! It teaches you a lot about the game. Gives you extensive amount of content that guides you on game modes, character strategies, and more for both 3DS and Wii U versions. However, note that this guide book has information based on the version before the downloadable content. Therefore, certain aspects of the game such as: damage percentages, character rosters, stages, etc. will differ from the book to the latest patch of the game.

For the price, I picked it up. It was a great refresher and has the range of moves for all characters at launch. Plus how to unlock characters for 3ds and WiiU. Pretty handy.

Super Smash Bros. is one of those games that people often ask why you'd ever buy a strategy guide for it. A lot of guides in this day and age tend to be for collector's value rather and a compliment to the game itself. The guide for Super Smash Brothers compliments both the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game beautifully. It's a good guide. This is especially true given Prima's previous effort with the Super Smasn Bros. Brawl Guide which was very lackluster. That being said, I think beginners and those that just want to know the game the guide is great for them. If you're well versed in Super Smash Bros. there's really no need to get a hold of this guide as it won't tell you anything you don't already know.

The quality of the physical book itself is pretty low. My kids already ripped ours after a few days of flipping through it. Luckily it comes with a digital code to redeem on Prima's website. The code, assuming nobody redeemed it in store without buying the actual book, was easy to redeem, and I find myself using that version on my smartphone more often than the physical version. The content itself seems accurate and thorough.

As somebody who has only played the prior smash games while friends are over, I'm far from an expert player. This guide has significantly helped me have a little better idea of what is going on, what moves to use, etc.

I found myself enjoying to read the strategies pages more than any others mostly because in reading them, they help me build my skill level. This book is overall well done, but it feels to miss some details at points.

This purchase was gift. The recipient was very happy and has been seen actively reading it. They are even a bit better at the game too!

The book is nicely made and much better than most game guides that are out these days. The printing is nice, good pictures, and nice colors. I leave this on the coffee table just to browse through once in a while. The bonus is that it does actually help you learn the moves for the characters.

Really solid strat guide, great breakdown of characters and levels. One star removed because it uses terms it doesn't actually explain in the guide.

Good Super Smash Bros guide for both 3DS and WiiU.

Game was one of my pre-teen sons first choices for a Christmas gift. He plays it daily. Though it can be frustrating, the game is enjoyable.

There's lots of useful information here. I would definitely recommend this guide to any player, from beginners to experts.

This book was pretty helpful. It explained all of the playable characters moves and fighting styles, and also gave insight on how to unlock content(other playable characters and achievements). It came with a code for an online copy, which is pretty useful.
