I've been playing Super Smash Bros. games since the original on N64. They all had their allures, and this game is no different. I consider this to be one of the most solid fighters out there. The mechanics are great, the cast of characters is great (and growing through DLC), and there is so much to do other than simple stock battles. Great game.

Super Smash Brothers makes my top 5 list (games being released ) for Wii U in 2014) The Graphics are awesome, With over 40 characters to choose from and hundreds of moves to learn makes for a high replay ability. Lots of stages to fight on. Plus there is a-lot of mini games to play. This game can provide hours of fun for any age.

Being a fan from the original N64 days I was excited to see how Smash Bros. would be updated and I was not disappointed. If you remember the old Smash Bros. you'll find more here - the same great action and frantic chaos but with more characters and better graphics. Plus, the addition of Amiibos is a great little extra as well.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is absolutely amazing! You can play with up to 8 people, and you can even use a 3DS, with a copy of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS, as a controller! The graphics are beautiful, and the gameplay is awesome! Perfect for having fun with friends and/or family! There are so many characters to choose from!

Probably as good as Melee, or better, depending on which playstyle you like more.
But the abundance of music, characters, stages, Challenges, Events, and other single player stuff, plus online that is relatively lag free, makes it amazing.
Now if only I could get my hands on a Gamecube adapter...

Super Smash Bros 4 for Wii U is an excellent addition to the series. It supports up to 8 players at once. With many new characters and stages. If you own a Wii U I would get this game. Free online play is offered in the game for more fun. As well as Amiibo support. Over all a high quality game.

"Me and you...and you and me...no matter how we toss the dice...we're meant to be...the only one for you is me *record skips*..." was one of the greatest video game commercial/trailer introducing the original Smash Bros for the N64. Since its inception, Smash has significantly grown in its roster size, level diversity, and so much more. While fans are divided on whether Brawl (Wii) was a step backwards or forwards from the masterpiece Melee (GameCube), the newest Smash for Wii U is chocked full of more options and collectibles than Cranky Kong could shake a stick at. This is a MUST OWN for everyone who owns a Wii U. With constant updates from Nintendo that seek to balance all the characters even slightly, this is a game that will provide hundreds (thousands?..MILLIONS?!) of hours of gameplay with you and up to 8 of your friends. I don't write reviews very often...but when I do, it's to praise a franchise that will forever go down in history as the greatest brawler ever made.

SSMBWiiU is an amazing game. The sheer amount of fighters, stages, content, and extras in this game is staggering. I bought on release day in November 2014. I still haven't unlocked all the fighters or stages or content. Great game to play alone or w friends. Highly recommend to everyone

This is the best Smash ever made. Tons of characters, lots of levels, HD graphics, and ONline that usually works. (I suggest LAN adapter if you can manage it)
If you have a Wii U. Get this game.

Maybe I just don't like the original Wii console, but I really did not like the Wii version of Smash Bros... It felt awkward with the controls, looked horrible from a graphics standpoint, and offered nothing significant over the GameCube version. In fact, for parties, my family would pull out the old version, and some GC controllers to play that instead.
This changes NOW! This is where the WiiU finally starts to get its chops as a REAL console! This is easily one of the best entries in the beloved Smash Bros series, and not just because it finally has HD graphics - Playability, balance, and the entire product have been polished to near perfection. No more cruddy rendering. No more imbalanced characters (arguable, since we still have regular winners). No more glitchy, stupid environments. EVERYTHING has had a revamp, and been reconsidered.
Highly recommended for any WiiU owner who cares for multiplayer!

What's there to say? It's Smash Brothers! They did a great job of giving players plenty of options for game modes, whether it be challenges, the story mode, playing multi-player on and off-line with friends, collecting trophies... there is always plenty of things to do.
One of the best things about the game is being able to create and customize your fighters. Love playing as Pikachu, but want to change his strengths, weaknesses, and move sets? Go ahead. Great feature.
My favorite part of this game is that it's easy to just pick up, play a couple matches, progress in some way, and then just put it down when you have some spare time in the day.
The only knock I have on this game is the Amiibo functions. You can't actually use your Amiibo... you just have it fight alongside you, or against you, to level it up. Would have been much cooler if you could have used them as your main fighter, but it's still cool bonus.

Definitely a return to form for the series. Much better balancing than was in Brawl. The variety of characters and play styles makes for a more fun pick up and play with friends. The ability to make only flat levels is a very nice feature for the more hardcore fans.

I really don't think they need to even make another Super Smash Bros after this game. The new characters are so unique and everything is just as fun as ever. I miss the candy machine for the trophies, but either way, it is just perfect to play and get into.

If you've played any prior version of Super Smash Bros, then you know what to expect --- good number of characters and stages available from the start, then you unlock more as you go along. I'm using the wired fight pads (connect to the Wiimote) and they work great --- gives you the old Gamecube controller feeling. Highly recommended if you're a fan -- if not -- might want to wait until the price drops a bit, it's fun, but fairly repetitive.

I've always loved the Smash Bros. series, ever since the first one from Nintendo 64. Then as Melee and Brawl came out, I loved it even more. Although this new addition to the series is great, I think I'd prefer sticking with Melee/Brawl for tournaments and such. Just seems like the frames are faster on those two than on this one. The graphics are incredible, though. Definitely the best looking game in the series! The fact that they added all of these new modes/features make the game worth exploring, but I feel like they missed out on a lot of the things that really made the older games better (i.e.: Adventure Mode - now replaced with a board game?). The amiibo idea was cool, but not really essential to actually playing the game. I only like the cool figurines to display on my shelf. This is more a comment about the system itself, because I believe this should have been included with it, but those GameCube Adapters...MAN...what a joke! I'm all up for trying to play with the new controller, but if we already have the controllers from GameCube/Wii, the Wii U should have either had the ports built-in or included the USB adapter. Especially if Nintendo was going to put a limit on the supply for these.
Other than those few things, I love the idea that they will come out with DLC for new characters (let's just hope that they develop more) and potentially hope for new stages and modes/features. If you haven't ever played any Smash games previously, this game is a great one to have in your collection and it's really worth trying out as you will learn a great deal of the variety of characters Nintendo has to offer within their franchise. Have a great time with it, and if you've got beef with someone, settle it in SMASH! :)

Smash Bros has been a great franchise over the years, and this is the best game of the bunch. Online works great, it has a ton of modes, 49 characters to unlock, lots of stages. Ton of fun. Easy game to play, and lots to master. Hundreds of hours of fun.

Seriosuly, Smash has always been one the greatest series of games, and Smash 4 is NO EXCEPTION! This game is amazing, even if you are like me, and usually hate fighting games. It's super easy to pick up, and generally just a ton of fun. I love it!

My son was pleased to get this. I played with him . It is much like the Super Smash for Wii but different characters and settings. Also got some Amiibos to go with it. Better than the 3ds version for online play and plays smoother he says.

I have been a huge fan of the super smash series and they haven't stop delivering. I like some of the new additions and modes they have added. I was though a little disappointed they took away the transformation back and forth on zelda and samus.
