The characters, graphics, and just the game in general is great! I love it and my whole family can play. And my son loves unlocking the new characters.

Fantastic game to play together with the family! I've got all kinds of controllers and such so the 8 player games can get insane! Great fun and the single player options are also plentiful. The Party mode is also an interesting add on to the foundation of a great game, which can been fun with people around. Just remember, the Mario Party effect - don't let it ruin your friendships! But the game is not perfect. Player controls/profiles are not easy to pull up and customize. Every match, you need to manually select them, in a small selection region.

My kids love that they can change and play with their favorite characters. The action is fast pace so they don't get bored after 5 minutes of playing

I've played every Smash Bros game since the N64. The original was probably the best for local multiplayer, until the Gamecube version came out. And it had both multiplayer party games *and* multiplayer competitiveness that put it at the top. The Wii version was good for parties but not so much for competition due to some imbalances in the characters. Enter the Wii U version. The best part of this game is that it works with every Nintendo controller since the Gamecube came out. All Wii peripherals, the Wii U gamepad, Gamecube controllers (with separately sold adapter), and even the 3DS may be used as a controller for this game. From top to bottom this game is feature packed. You have a solid online multiplayer experience (albeit, it does lag sometimes), and in-house multiplayer games. It does have, what I believe to be the least expansive part of the game, a less than stellar single player experience. Sure, you have maybe 5 modes of play by yourself, but there's not one really great single player mode (like Adventure mode in the past games, for example... I don't know... I really liked that). This one is just above average for a single player fighting game. The game really shines in multiplayer, though. It's just chaotic fun. If you have friends that like Smash, and you have a Wii U, this is a game you simply have to get.

Smash Bros on WiiU throws every possible game, mode, and item into one huge package sure to delight gamers from the most casual to the most devoted fan. In a culture often devoted to shock, gore, and vulgarity, Smash Bros delights in its ability to avoid all of these cynical tropes to provide gamers with a satisfying, delightful, even joyous mountain of chaotic gameplay.

Yes, so I just played the Smash Bros game and it was the best game ever. I especially love the character jiggly puff as I can personally relate. I do a lot of public speaking and people fall asleep all the time. My kids are mad at me because I don't let them play and often send them to bed so I have more time to myself for this amazing game. My favorite character has got to be little mack. He is small, strong, fast, agile, and seems really popular - everything I'm not. He reminds me of a character I had on an old nintendo game. An insanely cool game!

Nintendo definitely took their time to get this one right. It's challenging, fun (especially with a group of people) and the graphics are great!

Lots of different ways to play. The board games and event challenges are nice for my competitive wife. My son likes the action. And I like the nostalgia characters old , new and favorites. Only downside I thought there would be more to the amiboo's but they are still new and fun.

Its just like all the classics except better graphics what i like is the updated characters items and now you get finishing moves its great

Smash Bros. has always been known as a fun game to play with friends. I have many memories of bringing my gamecube to my friend's house to play Melee and unbeknownst to me at the time the game also had a large competitive following. I myself am not a competitive smash player but for people who are, I believe this entry will satisfy players just for the character roster that is planned to be ever expanding. Smash is the same fun game everyone remembers, but with a whole new slew of features and a giant character roster.

Great fun for the whole family. Controls are easy to pick up but can really be mastered with practice. One of the best games on Wii U

Saying that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is a great game is a huge understatement, its a fantastic game. With a selection of over 50 characters and tons of new modes, Smash Bros. for Wii U is by far the best game in the series. The character selection includes a huge amount of classics as well as some new faces. Some of the new characters include: Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Robin, and an extraordinarily big amount of other characters. There are a total of 51 characters in the game, along with a returning character coming in Spring of 2015 which bumps up the amount of characters to an astounding 52. The modes aren't to shabby either. Smash Tour is a fun board game in which you collect power-ups and character icons. At the end of Smash Tour, you have a final battle and the character icons you collect are the stock in the final match. It's really fun and a good time with friends. Events have returned and now are better than ever. There are now separate events for 1 and 2 players and both event modes have tons of events to choose from, some with hidden paths. Trophy Rush is not to interesting. You smash blocks and get trophies. The best thing about is getting trophies, and I did get pretty frustrated with it after being hit and killed by the blocks, loosing precious time. Smash battles, like everything else in the game, have been majorly improved. Now, you can buy skylander-styled figures called amiibo. They act as your own personal computer player. It's a good option to buy one if you don't have too many friends to play with. But Nintendo has stepped up their game with 8-Player Smash. Although you can only select from about 1/3 of the stages, they are the most frantic and fun smash games you will ever play. Online does return and it is awesome. Online is the same as Smash Bros. for the 3DS except one thing, you can now play For Fun Team Battles and For Glory Team Battles with your buddy on your couch. It's really fun, except for the occasional lag, which happens a bit more often then it should, but that's minor. Smash Bros. For Wii U is a fantastic game. Any Wii U owner needs to have it.

Best game so far for the Wii as far as playing with friends and family. Super competitive but also super fun and quick to learn.

This is by far the best smash brothers of all time. In high defiinition the levels are so trippy!!! So much fun. Great characters.

This is one of the best Nintendo games I've ever played. Perfect for anyone who's not very good at video games or someone who is. This game is the epitome of fun-filled button smashing with friends! So far, I've only played this with 3 people at a time and it was extremely intense, competitive and fun! Playing this game with the 8 player possibility would be really busy on the screen but I imagine also very fun! I highly suggest this one as the ultimate multiplayer game for the Wii U console!

This game is so much fun and it very, very similar to the original. You can play with up to 8 people which would be nuts.

Pretty impressive game. The overall gameplay is like most of the other Smash Bros and the convenience of having multiple controller options is always good. 8-player smash can be a bit hectic as the game has to pull out far to allow everyone to be on screen, but that is also a large map problem so I cannot really gripe on that. I will say that the ability to add a 3ds using Smash Bros 3ds as a controller is a pretty novel idea and something I hope they are willing to keep trying with other games.

I purchased Wii U to have my little one moving around during the long winter months when he's mostly in doors. New Nintendo for small to medium size kid friendly games are hard to find. Cause when they decided to do the Nintendo Switch all the other systems have benn left behind by retailers. We still want to buy the games in store... I love to have my little on pick out a game in the store but now that is few and far between. All in all good game.

This is one of the easiest fighting games to introduce people to, and one of the only one's I'm willing to play. I recommend buying this even if you have the one for the 3ds due to the different mini games and HD experience of this. ...But you don't "need" my recommendation, most likely. If you're looking at this online, then you're probably just checking the reviews to make sure it's the same great taste of the product you know and love. And I'm here to tell you that it is.
