    the original remote were very prone to damage. the battery door would break all the time. also zero protection when it rains. these have a solid rubber back that address both. so much better

    The new design is much better, the buttons don't press as easily, so you are not cycling lock/unlock in your pocket! Syncing to the vehicle is simple also.
