I ended up liking this docking station more than I thought I would. The build quality is very good...I don't notice any alignment problems at all...just put your surface in the base and close the side mounts and there you go...piece of cake. My only complaint is the cost. (i would have given it 5 stars if it was a lower MSRP) I bought the 'open box' version because it was closer to the price range I thought it should be (although it should be a bit cheaper. The Surface is expensive enough...you shouldn't go broke getting the cool things to go along with it.. So far I really like mySurface 3 and I am very happy with the dock.

I use this product to connect my Surface 3 to my TV. I also have a keyboard and mouse connected to it. The kit has worked flawlessly. It was easy to setup and has turned my Surface into a functioning desktop-like computer. The only potential problem I see is docking/undocking the Surface into this docking station. You must insert/extract the Surface at an angle. Attempts to shove/yank the Surface at an incorrect angle may damage the both devices.

I was totally surprised with the sturdiness and ease of use for this Surface docking station.. Simply plug it in and attach the Surface device.

I bought this for the USB ports. You can also use it to expand your displays, although I'm still working on figuring that part out.

I bought it because of the extra usb ports it has and is worth the money I spent. Only one thing that it would make it an excellent product if it would work without being pluged in and mobil.

These docks are the best tablet docks I have ever used. Sadly the surface pro 4 has a new style dock but I wouldn't use a Surface Pro 3 without one. The only way it could be better is if it had a second native video port built in. Using a USB video adapter for my second monitor but still working wonderfully.

Super easy to use... Converts my tablet into a fully functional computer by allowing me to use my full screen and keyboard. I've waited to buy a tablet and this allows me the best of both worlds.

Not as great as the Surface Pro 3 dock but the Surface 3 is not as great either so that's to be expected. It does what I need it to do.

Couple months in and haven't identified any issues. Docking and undocking the Surface is a snap, literally. Connections were easy. The footprint seems a bit large but not bad.

I love being able to dock my Surface and use all my peripheral's when I am home!

This docking station works great with your Surface 3. Provides additional USB ports and charges while it is in it. Grabbed it on a Best Buy Deal of the Day so it makes it that much nicer. Easy to put Surface in or out. Additional USB ports are nice when working with external and flash drives. A worthwhile investment!

The Surface Dock is great for a desk, since you can easily hookup your monitor and other peripherals with ease. However, when using it on small nightstand, it's hard to use the keyboard and the utility of extra peripherals goes away, though great to use the charging ports on it.

Very nice to be able to plug my surface into and acess more than it's one built in USB ports. Works great for charging. Only complaint is like all surface accessories the price is too steep.

Picked mine up as an open box item. Worked perfectly with zero action necessary on my part. Unit has fine finish, similar to any other piece of Microsoft hardware I've owned (which is well into the double digits at this point). Gave me an easy way to insert my Surface 3 into my home office system when I was having trouble with my primary PC. The Surface 3 obviously doesn't have the power to replace my big rig permanently, but for the few days while I was troubleshooting the primary, this dock made it easy to at least keep things rolling along acceptably. Its now my secret backup device for all sorts of contingencies.

I can just pop it in and out of the dock and everything just works.

This is a must have to Surface users. It's so convenient to dock and have a workstation when I get home.

This is a very well made docking station. Turns the surface 3 into a desktop when using at your desk.

This dock was great, was really able to replace my laptop with the surface and dock!!!

If you looking to have this as a multi screen purpose then yes. It does make give you a nice display on an bigger screen and alternative uses but at the end of the day it not really worth the money.
